The aftermath

There was just silence. The only sound were my quiet sobs. Then I heard Ariana's quiet sobs.

"Colleen, what is going on?" Her mom asked, a bit angrier. I looked up. Gabbie was right there. She didn't take her eyes off me. Her look was full of worry for me and I didn't want that.

In the corner of my eye I saw Ariana's mom hugging Ariana. Colleen was just standing in the middle of the room, fists clenched.

"Colleen! Answer now!" Her mom shouted. Colleen shook her head.

"What happened is none of your business." Colleen said angrily and then her mom snapped.

"If it's none of my business, then why the hell are there two girls crying on seperate ends of the room and you shouting 'get the fuck out'! Tell me what happened!" Her mom yelled out and then Ariana spoke up.

It...It really is n-nothing Gwen. D-don't worry. We're just moody teena-agers." Ariana said between sobs. I never thought Ariana would have my back, but then again Inever thought I could be friends with Colleen. It's almost the same thing.

"If you say so Ariana." Colleen's mom said and the moms exited the bedroom.

"Liza? Are you good?" Colleen asked as soon as the doors were closed. All of her anger was gone.

"Props to you, Colleen. I never thought you would step up for Liza like that." Gabbie said.

"M-me neither." Ariana said between sobs. I looked over to her and she was sitting on the floor in the corner and crying.

I calmed down. Then I stood up and took my backpack and walked over to Ariana. I gave her a hand. At first she looked at me confused, but then she gave me her hand and I helped her up.

"Thanks. For what you said." I said to her and went towards the door.

"Where are you going, Liza?" Colleen asked. I turned to them.

"I'm going home." I said.

"You can't walk. I'll drive you." Colleen insisted.

"I'd prefer walking, but thanks." I denied. Gabbie started walking towards me.

"I'll come with you." Gabbie said. I stopped her.

"No. I wanna be alone right now. I'll see you at school tomorrow." I said and exited. "Bye, miss Ballinger." I said as I was exiting the house. She waved back.

I walked home. It was a long walk. 2 hours. But I wanted it that way. It gave me time to think about what happened at Colleen's.
