Gabbie's secret

I entered the classroom and of course Colleen was there already. As soon as she saw me she started mocking me.

"Hey loser! Still wearing those pants? For how long now? Four years?" She said and her friends laughed.

"Good morning kids." Said ms. Grace as she walked in the classroom. "Let's start off with a bit of a test." She said and we all groaned.

"I will of course gat an A. Is that right Lizer?" She asked me. I shruged. "I that right?" She asked again but this time she said it more agressive and she pulled my hair.

"Yes." I said only loud enough for her to hear me.

"Good girl." She whispered in my ear.

We wrote the test. It was surprisingly long. Ms. Grace took the test five minutes before lunch.

"I feel generous today and you can go to lunch now." Said ms. Grace and everyone went to the cafeteria.

I tried to blend in but everyone with everyone so that Colleen doesn't see me, but she noticed me and pulled me in the restroom.

"So, What are you doing later today?" She asked and I got confused.

"N-nothing. I'll be a-at home." I stuttered out because I was scared I would say something wrong.

"Could I come over?" She asked and I imidiatly got jumpy.

"No way. No. Not a chance. Nuh-uh." I said just waiting for her to punch me after that. But she didn't.

"Well then... Thanks for your time." She said and pushed me out of the restroom and a few seconds later I could hear someone calling my name. I turned the corner and it was Gabbie. We sat down at a table.

"Gab, is it weird that Colleen just asked if she could come to my house?" I asked and she started talking.

"Oh yeah she does that to tho-..." She stopped. "I mean... How would I know what that means?" She suddenly said.

"That's not even the question I asked." I said and she looked at me with a worried look. "Gab, are you hiding something from me?" I asked.

"Yes. No. Maybe. I don't know. I wanted to tell you but also I didn't want to tell you at the same time because-..."

"Gabbie! Stop!" I said and she calmed down. "Tell me now. And don't freak out"

"Well you came to this school last year and I didn't we instantly became friends. But I wasn't supposed to be your friend. I was just supposed to lure you into Colleen's hands so that she can bully you. But at the last moment I stopped and became your real friend. And she didn't want to be my friend anymore because I spoke up and didn't listen to her. But now she told me wants to make things right again and that's why she invited me to her birthday party. But it was the biggest mistake. For me it was torture. She beat me up and I still have bruises. And she told me if I tell anyone she would beat me up even more and I didn't want that. Please don't tell anyone I told you that. I'm sorry I kept this from you for so long." She said and exhaled deeply after she finished.

"So you were once in her group?" I asked.

"Yes, but you changed me." She said. I saw she was scared of me not wanting to be her friend anymore. So I took her hand for support.

"Thank you." She said only loud enough for me to hear.

"You should've said this earlier. What do you think what kind of a friend I am? I will never be Colleen." I said with a reassuring look.

"I know you won't be but I was scared." She said.

"You can tell me anything." I said hugging her.

After the bell rang we returned to our classes.

After school I made my way home and I felt like someone was following me. But every time I looked behind me there was nobody. It must've been just a feeling.

I came home, left my backpack in my room and then heard a knock on the front door. I went to the front door and opened it. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw who it was.
