Chapter 5

Lance hopped into the car quickly after finishing his phone call. Keith and Shiro immediately stopped their conversation as Lance slid into the car next to Keith.
Before either of the boys had strapped their seatbelts or gotten comfortable at all, Shiro pulled out of his parking space and did a U-turn so fast that Lance was flung out of his seat and into Keith's lap. Both boys let out a yell as Keith caught lances head. The brunette boy was now laying in his lap.
They looked at eachother, redness spreading across their cheeks. Shiro turned around with a slight smirk only Keith would notice.
"Sorry"
Lance smirked at Keith and sat up.

Keith pushed the door to the convertible open and quickly got out. He grabbed his longboard along the way and lead the way into the small apartment.
"Hello everyone!" Allura called as she heard the door open.
"Hey" Shiro and Keith both called.
The apartment was fairly small and Keith and Lance wiped the sand off their shoes as they took them off. Lance looked around the house, it was surprisingly modern.
Not at all what Lance expected Keith Kogane's house to look like.
right in front of Lance was a white square shaped table. To his right was the kitchen, very open, the only thing between him and Allura was a counter. Straight ahead of him was a long blue couch, and a tv.
"Here you can come set your bags in my room" Keith said leading Lance to the left down a hallway. In the middle was the bathroom. At the other end there was a dark room, and Lance assumed it was shiro's room. As he walked the opposite way he entered a room with white walls and a twin size bed. There was a closet filling up one wall, a book shelf and a window. The room was dark until Keith walked across the fuzzy white carpet and turned the lamp on the desk on.
He looked up at the wall the desk was against. It was filled with photos, all in black frames. Each frame held a photo of Shiro or Keith, some had Allura in them. One caught his attention.
The first day of 6th grade.
Pidge, Hunk, Keith, and Lance all stood in front of the school with dorky smiles on their faces.
Lance set his stuff down, leaning his bag against the desk, and looking at Keith. He had never imagined himself in the room of Keith Kogane.
He looked at Keith. He was beautiful. He had such a perfect jaw, and wonderful eyes. Lance still couldn't tell what color they were.

Lance was bisexual.
He wasn't used to the sound of that.
But looking at the beautiful boy in front of him it all made sense.
Lance had always been a flirt, and he did like Keith at one point in middle school. He just never really knew what it meant. He pushed his feelings aside. No one else liked boys, so somehow he just decided it was unnatural... And he wouldn't either.
He didn't know what to do.
He knew Keith was into guys. Lance didn't know what his sexuality was but he did know that he liked guys for sure. He dated one at one point last year.

Keith looked at Lance. He was so tan. The warm lighting of the lamp made his skin look even more sun kissed. He was falling for him already... Like he had in middle school.
Keith had always admired lances confidence. He was proud, and flirtatious... Athletic and so social. It was everything Keith wanted to be. He was everything Keith wished he had the confidence to be.
Keith was the type of person to say whatever went through his head. They were usually offensive things... But this time it was something else.
"Today was fun" he said blatantly. Then his face got red. Was that too much? Did straight friends say that to each other?
Lances face got red. Neither of the boys could figure out what they were doing. They were a total mess.
"Dinner's done" Shiro called to the boys. This broke their awkward silence and they quickly walked out of the room.

Lance pulled out his chair and sat down at the table. In front of him was a large plate of lasagna, a bowl of salad to the side, and some bread rolls on a plate.
"Dig in!" Allura said with a smile.
Lance was absolutely ecstatic. It was wonderful, so peaceful. Everything was so warm and comfortable, it was such a mature household. No wild kids running around screaming, no tic-tac-toe right on the table with crayons. The walls were white... And not stained with paint.
Lance loved his family with all his heart. This was a whole new world.
He was having a blast.
They talked about everything, politics, schooling, futures for the two high school boys. Lance loved every second of it. They were taking him seriously, they listened to him, it felt nice.

Keith was in utter shock.

He never thought Lance would be the type of guy to debate his brother right at the dinner table.
Lance was smart.

"So you surf?" Shiro said as the last of the meal was being finished.
"Yeah, all the time actually... I've one a couple competitions for rip curl and red bull"
Shiro's jaw dropped. Keith didn't really realize it, but this was Lance McLain.
He was a pretty big deal all over California for the beach lovers.
"That's amazing" Shiro began shaking his head in awe. Lance was honored. He was surprised that he was being recognized by someone other than his mom or some kind of sponsor spokesperson.
"Thank you so much Shiro" Lance said with a slight laugh. This meant more to Lance than he would've wanted anyone to know.
He was getting attention for something other than stupid jokes. It felt special.

Keith stood up from the table and grabbed everyone's plates as he headed to the sink.
"Thank you for the food" Keith said to Allura and Shiro as he balanced the plates along his forearm. Lance smirked at this.
It was adorable to see another side of him.
Adorable.
He had used this word to describe Keith.
He didn't hate it.

Hey guys! I'm sorry if this chapter was lame it was kinda a filler. I'm preparing for more angst and fluff in the next 2 chapters. I will be writing a ton tonight, and hopefully be posting again tomorrow.
Thank you;)
