Snowy mountian
-your POV-
We climbed the mountainside to Snow Mountain. We walked for a while when I noticed Frodo slipping down on Aragorn and me. I caught him and lifted him.
"Are you all right, dear?" I asked as I looked down at him. He was desperately looking for something. I noticed that the ring was no longer hanging around his neck. Then I saw Boromir pick up something shiny. The Ring! "It's strange that we all have to strive for something so small." He said while he was studying the ring.
"Boromir, give a ring back to Frodo," I said sternly. But he didn't listen.
"Listen to y/n now," Aragorn said, and I saw his right hand resting on the handle of his sword. Then he looked at us and gave Frodo the ring back.
"Take it. I care not," he said, ruffling Frodo's hair and moving on. Aragorn raised his hand away from the sword and moved on, too. I gave Frodo a little push and started walking too.
Suddenly it began to rumble in the mountains. I looked up at the sky and saw a Lightning strike on the mountain top just above us, and snow came falling along with some rocks. I transformed into a dragon and took my wings over the Hobbits to protect them. I could feel stones falling off my body, but the others weren't as lucky. The snow buried them. I blew the snow, and it disappeared.
"We have to go through the hallways of the moria," Gimli said, but Gandalf didn't look too happy out of the thought.
"We let the ring bearer decide," he said, and everyone turned to Frodo. I was still standing over him, looking down at him.
"We're going through Moria," he said tremblingly. Gandalf sighed and told me to fly them there.
"What's in there that scares you so much, Gandalf?" I asked when we'd come a long way.
"A demon that I haven't defeated yet. He's stronger than the others, and I fear he will get you.' he replied. We were there at the entrance of the moria. I landed, and the others jumped off. I stayed in my dragon form and walked along the riverbank. The roots were sticking out over the sand and made it almost impossible to walk there. I suddenly felt the smell of pine and wood. Legolas. He was walking beside me. I thought he wanted to tell me something but couldn't find the right words. I smiled and looked at him.
"You may wanna say what's bothering you," I said. He winded his eyes at my words.
"W-what? I have nothing to say?" He said, and I laughed.
"Okay, if you say so," I said and walked a little faster than him. I heard him sigh as I chuckled silently. Suddenly I heard a voice in my head.
-Now is your chance. Take the ring. Use it.-
( -: mind)
-who are you?-
-you know who I am, princess.-
I shiver when I recognize the voice.
-father?-
-Yes, dear.-
-but how? You're dead.-
-Yes, but I can still talk to you thru your mind.-
I was going to answer him, but we suddenly stopped. A big stone door was in front of us, and I walked to it, tracing my claws over the cold stones.
"It's a riddle, Gandalf. What's the elvish word for friend?" I ask as Gandalf looks up from the ground.
"Mellon," he says, and the door opens.
We were about to go inside, but a tentacle snaked around my waist. But as soon as it feels my scales, it backs down. But the monster takes Frodo instead, and I growl loudly. "leave him, and I will spear your life, monster." I say as I walk towards it. It lets go of Frodo and slips back into the water. I walk to Frodo, nudging him gently.
"You're alright, dear?" I ask in a worried tone. He nods and walks to the others. I sigh and join him. As we walk thru the halls of Moria, I feel something growing. It feels like something is trying to call out to me, but I don't know what.
"What's wrong, y/n?" Legolas asks beside me. I jump a little, but I answer. " I feel something I haven't felt in many years. But it's too weak for me to say what it is. I hope we go unnoticed here." I say as we walk. Gandalf suddenly stops at a three forked doorway. I walk to him and ask.
"What's wrong, Gandalf? Are we lost?"
"Yes, I guess we are. But, unfortunately, I have no memory of this place." He answers and looks at the three doors. I sighed and went to fordo.
"Hey, dear. How are you feeling?" I ask as I sit down beside him. He gets a little startled but answers.
"Yes. Have you ever been set out on a quest you dint know if you could do?" I get a little worried at his words but try keeping the kindness.
"Yes, like, I'm going to be crowned queen when I return home. So yes. I don't know if I ever can do that, but I will. But let's focus on what way it could be." So I said as I looked up at Gandalf. Suddenly I smell something that draws me to it. The smell of a dragon. What's a dragon doing down here? I follow the smell but get out of the trance by some of my friends calling my name.
"Hey y/n, Gandalf found the way. Come on." It was Legolas. I follow him but look back to the door where the smell came from. I try to smell it again, but it's gone now. As we walk thru the halls, I suddenly smell the grotesque scent of decayed bodies. I see suddenly Gimli running towards the bodies and crying out in sadness.
"Gimli," I say in a comforting. Then, looking over the fields of dead dwarfs, I notice the arrows sticking out of the closest dwarf. I take it out and study it. Then my eyes widen with disgust.
"Goblins," I say and throw it away. Then, growling, I walk to the others.
"Guys, we better pick up the pace. Those who killed these dwarfs are not far," I tell them as I am looking for something that could reveal where they could be. Legolas walks to me and asks worriedly.
"Do you find something, y/n?"
"No, but they're close. We better get out of here before the last night." I say as I walk suddenly over something. I hear a crack sound, and I shut my eyes. I open them slowly again and see a mountain of bones and skulls of dwarfs. I cringe and almost gag.
"Stay close, y/n," Gandalf says sternly. I nod and go closer to them. The smell of corpses filled my nose when we got close to a chamber. Gimli runs in, and we follow. A giant coffin made of stone is lying in the middle of the room. I walk over to the coffin and read out loud its inscription.
"Here lied Balin, Lord of Moria. So he's dead." I say.
"As I feared," Gandalf said as he walked to one of the bodies of the corpses and took a damaged book out of its hand. I opened it and started reading out the words written on the sides.
"-" but before he can read it, the sound of drums can be heard thru the halls. I growl and stand in front of them, my wings out from my body. Boromir and Aragorn rush to the door, leaning on it to prevent opening.
"They have a cave-troll," Boromir says, sarcastic. I take the hobbits behind me.
"Stay with y/n," Gandalf says as the door flies open. Orcs were pouring in. But as soon they can see me, they rush back the way they come. Suddenly came the cave-troll, but this one didn't run away as more quickly saw me. Instead, it roars angry and runs towards us. I feel fire flowing out of my mouth and hit the troll right in the stomach. It screams plainly and falls. I take my head up and walk to the troll, nudging it slightly on its side. It doesn't respond. I smile in victory.
Legolas and the others came to me, and I lay down so the hobbits could climb onto my back. We then walk out of the room.
