RUE:

On August 6th of 1998
My sister Elida Lucia Bennet Martinez (Luz ) was brought into to this world. But little did she know that she entered this world without a mother. Her mother Luna bleed out after giving birth. Didn't even have the chance to see her only daughter but she knew that her little girl would be in good hand. She knew that her ex husband aka my dad and his new wife aka my mom would take care of little Elida. When my parents found out about Luna's pregnancy, they were shocked. They couldn't believe it. Luna plan to raise her baby alone because dad fell in love with mom. She didn't want to burden my parents with the news but eventually they had too do to her death. Luna had informed the doctors whom the father was, just in case things didn't go as they plan. That's how my parents found out about little Elida. After weeks of her birth, My mother decide that she wanted to legal adopted Elida as her own child. That made dad very happy. For years they were a happy little family til I decide I wanted to join. When my mom found out she was pregnant with me. She was excited. So was dad and Elida.
But I wasn't ready to be born yet. I need more time. I was once happy. Content. Sloshing around in my own private, primordial pool. Then one day, for reasons beyond my control, I was repeatedly crushed...... over and over by the cruel cervix of my mother, Leslie. I put up a good fight, but I lost. For the first time, but not the last. I was born three days after 9/11.

My parents spent two days in the hospital while my older sister was at home with my grandparents. And then without warning. A middle-class childhood in an American suburb.

"Thirteen...Fourteen...Fifteen...Sixteen...."

"What are you looking at Rue?" said my mom as her and Elida looked at me like I was crazy of some sort. But yet I continued counting.

"- Seventeen..."

"Rue? " Elida said in a concern voice look at me and then look to mom, "Mommy what's wrong with Rue?"

"Rue, look at me."

But I still continued to count.

I was late diagnosed with many disorders.

At the age of Eleven. My dad got sick. Very sick. It was hard on the family especially on me and Elida. Gia was is still young. She doesn't understand it yet.

And then at the age of twelve I started stealing my fathers drugs.
My sister started dating this boy named Fezco but everyone called him Fez,he was two years older than her. She started acting different after dad kept getting worse. There was days were she didn't come home or sometime she would get home drunk or super high as a kite.

And then days went by

And he died.

And things turned completely.

October 2013

Elida started getting sick. Throwing up every morning, every second of the day so mom decide to take her to the doctor.

Elida was pregnant at sixteen
I was gonna be a aunt at thirteen.

She was thirteen weeks along her first term.
Mom was disappointed in her.

But that wasn't the worst thing. She had to tell Fez about the baby. My sister literally had bad timing because I was at fez's buying drugs when my sister walked in. She wasn't happy.

"What the fuck are you doing Rue!" She sais as she tries to drag me out the couch.

"None of your busy Luz. Now where were we Fez." I said to Fez as he continued showing me the different type of drugs he had.

"How long how you been supplying Rue?" Luz turned to Fez.

"That's none of your business sweetheart. It's between me and your lil' sis. Now if you excuse me, I need to attend to my business deal." And with that my sister snapped.

"Fezco. We are done. Rue. Let's go home." And with that she dragged me out and took me home.

But that was also the last time Fez saw Elida. Because that same day. Elida asked mom if she could go live with grandma Ruth, whom lives a few miles away away from here, She told mom that Fez was a drug dealer and she felt that her baby wasn't gonna be safe in here. That she had a better change to raise her baby in the city and my mom let her go. Little did Elida know that Fez was heartbroken with the fact that she dumped him. Fez is madly deeply in love my sister but she left. Abandoning everyone else to be doomed.

A few months later.
