Chapter 2- Sorting
After a while, Draco said he had some 'important' matters to attend to.. and since all of his friends are kind of stupid or whiny(PANSY) I said I had to leave too.
Walking around the train a while, I decided it was best to just stay in the Slyhterin compartment, but of course, I ran into someone.
"Dammin," I cursed as I landed on my butt.
"Sorry!" a red-head said smiling and putting his hand out, which I gladly accepted. "Didn't see you there."
"S'Alright," I smiled, knowing he was a Weasley the moment I saw his red hair.
"And who might you be?" Another voice said, making me turn to it's source... Which was an identical guy. Ah, the Weasley twins. I hope their not like their brother!
"I Zyrah," I smiled. "Zyrah Malfoy."
The two of them widened their eyes.
"Malfoy you say?"
"Blimey!"
"What?" I asked raising an eyebrow and crossing my arms.
"Who knew Malfoys could be civil!"
"Gee, thanks," I rolled my eyes. "But I do hear that a lot, so you're forgiven."
"No way she is a Malfoy," the two of them said perplexed.
"I am. You should feel honored... the only cool Malfoy doesn't hate you." I said grinning.
"Well, that's good." One said smiling.
"Too many Malfoys hate us already," the other continued.
"Wouldn't want any more hate,"
"Especially from the only 'cool' Malfoy,"
"Now, could you tell me your names?" I said shaking my head. "I'm going crazy."
"Sure! I'm Fred!"
"And I'm George!"
"And you're the Weasley twins!" I said sarcasticly.
"What?" Fred said confused. "We're obviousl NOT twins."
"Yeah.. Pshh," George continued.
"Oh right, Completely stupid of me not to see you're most definitley not twins." I muttered amused. "Surpricingly, I like you two. You're nothing like that annoying brother of yours."
"Ah, do you mean Ron?" George said confused.
"I do," I confirmed.
"Bloody Hell, his first day as a prefect and he's already a Percy-alike!" Fred exclaimed shaking his head dissaprovingly. "Don't worry though, we'll talk to him."
"No need," I smirked. "I plan on showing him it really isn't good to mess with a Malfoy. Especially not me."
"Sure, because you're so scary," Fred laughed.
"Bloddy Hell Zyrah!" I heard my dear brother before he grabbed my arm. "Didn't you lear the first time? These Weasleys will hate you for your name! Now don't even try and change it!"
"Actually," I said rolling my eyes. "They know I'm a Malfoy. So, even though Ron turned out to be a complete git, these two are cool. Now Draco, go and do what you do best why don't you?"
"And what is that?" he asked narrowing his eyes at me.
"Go and let our father know about this," I replied in a mocking voice.
Fred and George bursted out laughing.
"Just come on," Malfoy groaned pulling me.
"BYE GUYS!" I yelled, gettin two 'bye's in return.
The rest of the train I stayed in the Slytherin compartment. I really think I'll hate Sltherin if these are the people in it... but I have to befriend them. Why? Because Potter and Weasley hate these guys.
-time skip to the Great Hall-
As I arrived to the Grat Hall, Draco and I parted ways. I still have to be sorted you know? Te Sorting hat lay still in the middle of the room, on top of a stool. When everyone shut up, it started it's song.
In times of old when I was new
And Hogwarts barely started
The founders of our noble school
Thought never to be parted:
United by a common goal,
They had the selfsame yearning,
To make the world's best magic school
And pass along their learning.
'Together we will build and teach!'
The four good friends decided
And never did they dream that they
Might some day be divided,
For were there such friends anywhere
As Slytherin and Gryffindor?
Unless it was the second pair
Of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw?
So how could it have gone so wrong?
How could such friendships fail?
Why, I was there and so can tell
The whole sad, sorry tale.
Said Slytherin, 'We'll teach just those
Whose ancestry is purest.'
Said Ravenclaw, 'We'll teach those whose
Intelligence is surest. '
Said Gryffindor, 'We'll teach all those
With brave deeds to their name, '
Said Hufflepuff, 'I'll teach the lot,
And treat them just the same. '
These differences caused little strife
When first they came to light,
For each of the four founders had
A house in which they might
Take only those they wanted, so,
For instance, Slytherin
Took only pure-blood wizards
Of great cunning, just like him,
And only those of sharpest mind
Were taught by Ravenclaw
While the bravest and the boldest
Went to daring Gryffindor.
Good Hufflepuff, she took the rest,
And taught them all she knew,
Thus the houses and their founders
Retained friendships firm and true.
So Hogwarts worked in harmony
For several happy years,
But then discord crept among us
Feeding on our faults and fears.
The houses that, like pillars four,
Had once held up our school,
Now turned upon each other and,
Divided, sought to rule.
And for a while it seemed the school
Must meet an early end,
What with duelling and with fighting
And the clash of friend on friend
And at last there came morning
When old Slytherin departed
And though the fighting then died out
He left us quite downhearted.
And never since the founders four
Were whittled down to three
Have the houses been united
As they once were meant to be.
And now the Sorting Hat is here
And you all know the score:
I sort you into houses
Because that is what I'm for,
But this year I'll go further,
Listen closely to my song:
Though condemned I am to split you
Still I worry that it's wrong,
Though I must fulfil my duty
And must quarter every year
Still I wonder whether Sorting
May not bring the end I fear.
Oh, know the perils, read the signs,
The warning history shows,
For our Hogwarts is in danger
From external, deadly foes
And we must unite inside her
Or we'll crumble from within
I have told you, I have warned you ...
Let the Sorting now begin.
The hall broke into aplause and soon, the name callng started.
I was to be last, since I am actually new... so after a WHOLE bunch of kids, my name was finally spoken.
"Malfoy, Zyrah!"
Murmurs filled up the Great Hall. All the tables where asking who I was, since when did I exist... etc. Except the Slythering table, who I'm presuming they know about me thanks to Draco.
I walked with a smirk on my face till I reached the stool.
"Now," McGonagall said, stopping me before I could take the hat. "Miss Malfoy will be joining us on our fifth year. Before, she had been studying at Salem witches, a Wizarding school located in America. I hope you all give her a warm welcome."
Some scoffs where heard from the blue, red and yellow table, but it just made me smile and roll my eyes.
"That's not really necesary, Profesor McGonagall. I'm sure I'll manage just well," I said sweetly, the smirk never leaving my face.
McGonagall sighed tiredly and motioned for me to sit. Shit, even teachers are judgamental here!
"Hm, what do we have here?" the sorting hat spoke outloud, making the whole hall gasp. Isn't it supposed to like... speak in my mind? "Another Malfoy I see. Well, there is no dount where you belong. I'd even say I think the Slytherin Princess has arrived! But however, you are definitley not like any Malfoy I've met... hm... I see thet's where you want to be... then it will be-
SLYTHERIN!"
The Slythering table clapped like there was no tomorrow. Some guys even stood up and whistled. I smiled rolling my eyes. I stood up and took of the had, I did a small bow and made my way to the Slytherins. This shall be a fun year.
As the feast started everything everyone talked about was the way the hat decided everyone should hear what he said about me. I however, amd happy enough. I get more attention than needed from Slytherins, and Harry and Ron already seem to be suffering their consecuenses. Life sure is a bliss.
