Chapter Three: Introductions are in Order

Happy Camper Orphanage 1992 11:00 AM

The policemen, driving a silver dodge was an old bloodhound. He's was average height and a bit stock-ish for his age. The seemingly wrinkled police officer at first glance people would think he's the laziest and dumbest policemen on the force. Though in reality, he is more alert than most policemen are in force.

The chief's car began parking in front of a manor building. An old blue grayish bird was waiting on the porch outside the old rickety looking house than a manor of some sort.

Her white hair in a messy bun with a blue scrunchy. She also wore dark yellow half framed glasses that hung on her face by a silver chain around her neck.

'She must be Ms. Puffin...I recall the people at the police station talking about her.' the young hare noticed.

The women, know as Ms. Puffin, was wearing a dark sky blue scholastic mid-length business jacket over a white folded collar dress shirt with a small two-layered white cravat hanging around her neck. Her shirt's sleeves were also folded at the wrist each held by two large white buttons. To match the jacket was a dark indigo below the knee length pencil skirt. Finishing the outfit off was a pair of black heeled pointed toed shoes.

'Yeah...Nothing she's wearing screams strict warden at all. No, she's sugar and rainbows with a hint of love.' Thought the child as she rolled her eyes.

A young red panda was in the passenger seat of the car. The child was looking at the building that the car had stopped in front of. A large sign was put out on the front lawn on the left side of the curvy pathway.

In big bold letters, the sign read 'HAPPY CAMPER ORPHANAGE'. Only the word orphanage was written at the bottom though much smaller than the other two words. Happy Camper is written in yellow bold lettering.

The panda put on the 'are you serious?' look.

Caught off guard, she doesn't notice that the wrinkled bloodhound gentlemen had opened the door with his hand extended out to her. She looks up at him in confusion then she looks at his hand after realizing that he's helping her climb out of his car like gentlemen.

"Time to go young lady. Take my hand."

The young girl looks at him and nodded. She begins turning her body until her feet are dangling on the side of the chair. Then she put her small hand in the dog's large one.

Pushing herself up and out of the car with his help, the little girl hopped onto the pavement. The policemen lets go of her hand then closes the door to the car. The old bloodhound goes to his car trunk to get something out.

While doing that, the little girl looks at the house then at the old woman, who looks straight at her with a serious look in her eyes. Getting a bad feeling from the old bird, the girl decided that it was best not to piss her off.

The girl waited for the police chief, who was still gathering what seemed to be a big chest from his car's trunk.

She glances to Ms. Puffin, who begins walking towards them with some speed in her average strides. With each clacking of her heeled shoes, the distance between the three of them grew shorter and shorter. Finally, the clicking stopped there were only a few inches between the old bird and the little girl.

Ms. Puffin stared at the fidgeting young red panda, who kept twiddling thumbs and looking at the ground below her feet.

LUB-DUB LUBBB-DUBBB. BUHBUHBUHBUHBUH. lUB-DUP LUB-DUB BUHBUHBUHBUHBUHBUHBUHBUHBUHBUHBUHBUHB.

Her heartbeat quickened as time ticked down with the old puffin bird looked down upon the five-year-old girl.

"So this is the new girl who will be living here I see." She says with a hint of annoyance in her voice.

'Yeah, I see I'm not going to get along with you, hag.'

The old bird's eyes move from the girl to the Dog returning to her polite persona. A smile on her beak, eyes flowing with joy, and her hands joined on top her chest as if she trying to play off as a sweet old lady.

The young panda soon saw something rolling down from the...door?

"What the?"
