The Jump
I put this song since it fits and it's one of my favorite songs ever, plus, it might get a little boring with so much silence for y'all.
//Third POV//
The two day ride for Black Hat and yourself was silent, thanks to Black Hat's attempt to kiss you.
Black Hat was internally cursing himself out for the entire ride home.
The Demon couldn't understand these types of feelings, and thought that kissing you would make his feelings towards you calm down and you feel better but, he was wrong and felt pathetic.
He knew he was in love.
He hated it.
———
You were confused on your feelings towards Black Hat.
You found him annoying, yet comforting.
Sour, yet sweet to you, and it was only to you when he was sweet, which was strange.
You honestly wished he pushed these feelings onto Demencia and not yourself, so you didn't have to deal with the pressure.
The whole the thing with your father didn't help either.
He flat out told you that he didn't want you around and was willing to give you hundreds of dollars to make you go away.
It broke your heart to realize that you literally had nobody.
The only people that relatively cared about you was Tyler, Demencia, and 505, but they could all he following orders from Black Hat to be nice to you.
Mr. Hilenberg you didn't even want to think about after the string of lies he's told you.
You felt that without Mom, you were all on your own, alone in the ocean.
While you two were almost through Arizona, cruising through the desert, your car started to slow down.
As you pulled to the shoulder, you realized your car was smoking from the hood.
"Fuck!" You yelled as you got out to check what happened.
As you opened the hood, black smoke puffed into your face, wafting into your senses.
From the little knowledge of cars you have, thanks to your friend who is a mechanic, you figured out what was wrong.
"What happened?" Black Hat joined you outside.
"My radiator blew," You pulled out your phone to see if you could call roadside service, but you had no signal, "We're fucked, Black Hat! I literally have no phone device since we're in the middle of the desert, it's not like we can call somebody!"
You started to panic, realizing you (not really Black Hat) could die out there.
Black Hat seemed more calm than you were, "Y/n, relax. I can just teleport us out of here."
"But what about my car?" You asked.
"We can just leave it and get you a new one later," He took out his hand.
You looked to Black Hat, turned to your car, then back to him, and instead of grabbing his hand, you pulled him into a hug.
Black Hat didn't know what to say, so he just stayed silent about it, and proceeded with the teleportation.
You buried your face in his chest, feeling the wave of nausea hit you like a stroke of lightning.
By the time he let go of you, the both of you were back at your condo.
"Thank you," You said.
"N-No problem," Black Hat sounded tired, it must've been from that large jump that took almost all of his energy.
"For everything. I'm sorry I was a bitch about the whole kiss thing," You apologized.
Black Hat looked confused, "You don't need to apologize. It wasn't the right time for me to do that."
"I know, but, I was acting too sore about it."
"I honestly don't blame you. But, I guess my secret is out so...Whenever your feeling up to it, would you like to go out with me one night?"
As the two of you stood outside your front door, he asked you out.
Black Hat had just asked you out.
You had blush spread across your face, but you smiled at him, "Of course."
That made him happy, and obviously relieved that he was truly forgiven, though he looked like he was about to collapse.
"Let's go inside. You need to rest," You put your arm around him and led him inside.
You walked in to find Demencia napping while 505 and Tyler played cards.
"O-Oh! You two are back! H-How was the-"
Tyler must have noticed the conditions you and Black Hat were in.
Your eyes were red and puffy, bloodshot from the nonstop driving you've been doing.
You were frowning, but after all the events that just took place, who wouldn't be?
Black Hat looked weak and could barely stand straight, and was still leaning onto you for support.
He needed to lay down.
And just as you thought that, he dropped.
Black Hat passed out on your living room floor.
Tyler, 505 and yourself ran to his aid, rolling him over to check his pulse.
He was still breathing so he was definitely alive, though, his temperature went up.
He started to sweat, indicating that he was getting sick.
"D-Did you guys t-teleport here?" Tyler asked, his stutter slowing down when he realized his boss was okay for the most part.
"Yeah. My car broke down in the middle the desert in Arizona."
"Y/n, when Black Hat pushes h-himself too hard, he hurts himself in the l-long run. And I don't just mean him getting sick now."
"What do you mean?" You asked as you and 505 helped him lift Black Hat onto one of your couches.
"B-Boss is strong, there's no doubt about that, but he can lower his tolerance for distances by pushing himself like this. That first jump from Mexico to here must've done a number on him if he got ill from only Arizona."
"But he didn't get sick when first got here, He just went right to sleep," You pointed out.
"Th-That's because his tolerance was higher those days ago. Believe it or not, teleportation is a type of magic that is l-limited when it comes to demons, even Black Hat."
You looked over to him, who was sleeping, "So..it must be my fault then."
"No, don't blame yourself," Tyler put a hand on you shoulder, "Now go take a sh-shower and rest. You look exhausted."
I turned to the paper bag wearing man.
"Thanks Tyler, I couldn't have asked for a better friend."
