Chapter 4

Taylor´s Pov:

I woke up the next morning and like every other day,did the same routine I do every morning. I took s shower, brushed my teeth, and got dressed. I decided to put on some skinny jeans, an aqua Hollister t-shirt and some white converse. I went downstairs and checked the time.

7:13am

I had some breakfast and then left, not bothering to say bye to anyone since they were sleeping, except for Amber who had already left. I walked to the bus stop and saw the familiar car stop by the bus stop again. Niall.

He rolled down his window and I was confused. Why did he stop?

"Hello there!" He said cheerfully. How can someone be so awake at this time? Oh, well he is always energetic from what I´ve seen so I guess it might be normal...

"Hey. Why´d you stop?" I asked him.

"Want a ride?" He asked me.

"Uhhh, Niall, the bus hasn´t even come..."I said sounding confused.

"Yeah but it is just full of idiots."

"Then why aren´t  you on it" I teased and he laughed. "Are you coming or not?" He asked one last time.

"Fine. I guess it´s better to ride a car with one idiot than with a lot of them..." I said jokingly and he just chuckled.

"We´ll see Taylor."

"OK idiot." I replied with a smirk. "Oh I will find a nickname for you...." He said and I laughed.

After that there was just an awkward silence, I guess Niall had noticed too because he turned up the music. They were playing Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars. I knew the lyrics to the song but it wasn´t like I was going to start singing in front of Niall, I don´t want  to pop his ear drums or anything....Suddenly I was snapped out of my thoughts with Niall´s voice singing this song. I turned around and yes, I wasn´t imagining things, he was singing. And beautifully may I add. I swear, his voice was like amazing! I know I´m judgmental sometimes, but I would´ve never imagines Niall sang. But I guess he did. Apparently I had been staring at him, with I don´t even want to know what face because he was like,

"Taylor? Earth calling Taylor!" He said waving his hands in front of my face. I blinked a few times before saying anything,

"OH! I´m sorry..." I felt blush find it´s way up my cheeks and Niall laughed a little.

"Why were you staring?"he asked still laughing, oh my gosh, I must´ve looked like an idiot...

"I was not..." I said looking away, "But you´re a good singer." I blurted out. What the heck? Why did I just say that?! Wow...way to go Taylor.

This time it was his turn to blush,"Oh...umm..thanks." He said, flashing me a smile. " Now let´s go."

As I got  out of the car, I remembered that people always notice when the popular people arrive at school, which means they also see who is in the car with them. I felt so insecure when I got out and it was obvious all eyes were on us. Suddenly I spotted Tina and became scared. Oh my gosh. She´s dating Niall! What if she kills me? This can´t be good...

She walked over to us and it seemed like I was absolutely invisible, she just came over and her and Niall left. No hi or good bye, nothing. They just left. I guess maybe I am kind of invisible to the world, I mean really, Niall hadn´t even known I was alive before he was basically forced to get a tutor. Not that I care about him, but  I just realized maybe that´s just how things worked.

I finally arrived to my locker and Maddie came up to me.

"Oh my gosh!" She said jumping up and down excitedly.

"What?" I asked confused. What was so exciting?

"You got off Niall´s car. The most popular guy at school! Not Tina. YOU!" She said. Now I see where all of this is going.

"Maddie, I just got off because he offered me a ride. There is nothing going on except for the fact I´m his tutor. Got it?" I said trying to her to shut up about it. Apparently that didn´t work because she totally ignored me.

"He SO likes you Taylor! I mean, why would he offer a ride when you can ride the bus?" she said raising an eye-brow. 

"Because he is a nice person..." I said. "Sometimes..." I added something I immediately regreted because she said,

"Sometimes?" she asked referring to what I had just said. Thankfully the bell rang and I didn´t have to answer her question. "This is so not over." I heard her say while walking away. I laughed a little and got to my class. I sat in my regular spot next to Niall and spotted Tina staring at me, I tried to ignore it but it was seriously intimidating. I looked at Niall and I felt like a total looser but I didn´t care.

"Niall..." I whispered. He looked at me.

"Yeah?" He asked. 

"I don´t want to be rude but...why is Tina staring at me like that?" I asked and he frowned. Oh my gosh he looked so adorable doing- No. Stop it. He looked over at her and she smiled, which made him smile too.

"Don´t worry, she was probably just in deep thought, she does tha a lot." He reassured me, but I had the feeling that if she was in deep thought, then the thoughts she was having with either killing me or...killing me. Besides, she suddenly snapped out of her thoughts when Niall looked over?

Wow, what a coincidence...

The bell finally rang and I started walking towards the bus, when I felt someone yank my arm and pull me towards them. I turned around and it was Maddie.

"What the flick?" I asked her, rubbing my arm, which was now a little bit red due to Maddie yanking it.

"You´re coming with me. In my car. Because our conversation is not over." She said while we walked towards the school parking lot. Am I ever going to get to ride the bus or what?

"Really Maddie? Really? I asked while getting inside the car. 

"Yep." She said popping the p and turning on the car. Was I the only one without a car? Seriously, every time I ask my parents they just change the subject or say that I need to wait...Wait for what?

As we drove there I knew I woud get this huge talk about how I need to find out if he likes me or not and all that stuff.

"Oh my gosh, you guys aren´t cheating on Tina right?Becaus-"

"NO! I would never do that!" I said. I really don´t get her sometimes...

"Ok good. Anyways, has he told you anything about her? Do you think he´s hot because I do. I mean just look at him! His eyes are so freaking amazing, and he is the most awesome soccer player and I bet he has abs...oh my gosh...I can just imagine his abs..." She said dozing off...

"Maddie!" I said snapping her out of her thoughts. "Sorry..." She said giggling a little.

"But really, you two would make such a cute couple! Like I mean sure, Tina and all her friends call you ugly, but you´re not that  ugly!" She said and I frowned. What? They called me ugly? And what did she mean by not that ugly?! 

"What is that supposed to mean?!" I asked, clearly upset at what she had just said. At this point we were already in my driveway. "You think I´m ugly too?! You know, I might not have your long, golden perfect curls, or your big green eyes, or a perfectly shaped body, but that´s not a reason to just go ahead and say it to my face like that!" I basically yelled. She looked taken back at my reaction and said,

"Taylor, I didn´t mean it that way, I was just saying-"

"Saying I´m not as perfect as you?! Just because we´re best friends doesn´t mean you can just say it like that, you know I have feelings too! And how do you know Tina and her friends say that?" I asked, remembering she had mentioned Tina too.

She just stayed quiet and bit her lip. I squinted my eyes at her and spoke.

"Well? If you´re going to tell me part of it, you should just tell me the whole story, am I right?" I said.

"I umm...well you see...I might be sort of friends with her?" she said, and it came more like a question than an answer. Maddie had been hanging out with Tina?! How could she do this? She knew Tina had hated me, even before Niall happened, we just never got along.

"You´re friends with Tina?! And you didn´t tell me? Wow, you´re a great friend. Thanks a lot. Don´t even bother to call me or talk to me alright?" I said.

"It´s not like I need you anyways! Tina is much funner! At least she´s allowed to have sleepovers and go to parties!" She yelled while I was getting out of the car.

"Whatever." I said and went inside my house.

I ran upstairs and just laid in my bed and cried. I never thought I was the prettiest girl in the world, but when the words come from someone else´s mouth, especially your best friend, it hurts. I just couldn´t believe she had been my best friend fro all these years, actually not only my best friend but my only friend. I guess I just had to face the truth. The cold hard truth.

I suddenly realized Niall was supposed to come in....now! Oh my gosh! What if he knows I was crying? I spoke too soon because before I knew it I saw someone come in my bedroom. Niall. I quickly wiped away the tears and stood up. 

"Oh, hi." I said awkwardly.

"Were you..." I cut him off.

"No, let´s just get to work." I said, sitting on the bed and hoping he would let it go.

"No, wait. Were you crying? What´s wrong?" He asked, taking a seat next to me. He wiped away some tears I hadn´t wiped off and I felt this rush of electricity in my body, but I ignored it.

"No, it´s nothing. I just...I just had a fight with my best friend, but whatever. Let´s just work." I said. He seemed to notice I didn´t want to talk about it, and let it go.

"So, how about we practice our lines?" He asked, since we didn´t have any math homework today. I nodded and we started practicing.

None of us could get the part where Juliet was on the balcony and Romeo called her name. We always ended up laughing and then he said,

"Juliet! Juliet! Can I have a nugget?!" We both burst into hysterics and we both had tears coming out of our eyes, we were that bored.

"S-Stop! We need to get this!" I said, still laughing. We finally managed to calm down.

"Ok, ok. Can we just please take a break?" Niall asked. Ok, sure. The he spotted the guitar in the corner of my room and he walked over to it.

"Do you play?" He asked me. I shrugged.

"No, not really. I got one a long time ago, but I just kind of forgot about it and never really cared." I admitted. "Do you?" I asked.

 "Yeah. Love it." He said and grabbing it. Ha came over to me and smiled. "How about we make a deal? You tutor me math and I teach you how to play?"

No. I honestly don´t want to spend more time with you. You are still kind of a jerk and just forget about me the second you walk in the school or spot Tina. No.

"Sure, sounds like a deal." I said instead.Ok, what in the world is wrong with me?! 

"Cool." He said and I smiled. He started teaching me some notes, but I kept on placing my fingers in the wrong place.  He chuckled at how bad I was at this.

"Here, let me help you." He warapped his arms around me and I felt tingly all over. I suddenly felt myself blush.

"Why are you blushing?" He asked me laughing a little bit. Oh gosh...this is embarrassing.

"I don´t know...I just uhh...we were just in an awkward position and like you know...girls blush easily." I said. Wow, that was low. Girls blush easily? What the heck is wrong with me, that must´ve sounded so stupid...

"Oh right...haha." He said and we both laughed. It was already getting late.

"It´s getting late, we will continue tomorrow ok?" I said, putting my book inside my bag.

"Ok, see you tomorrow Tay." He said. Tay? Since when does he call me that? No one calls me that...Oh well, I guess that´s my nickname now.

"Bye Idiot." I said and he smiled. "You had a nickname too." I said smiling back at him.

"Ok." He said chuckling a bit and gave me a small hug and left. I found my self grinning like an idiot after he left. No. No, I don´t like him. It´s probably just the fact he is popular and that is probably a bg deal for most girls. Yes, that´s it. I do not like Niall. Besides, even if I did, he has a girlfriend, so either way I don´t have a chance right?
