(READ AUTHOR'S NOTE)

Taylor's P.O.V:

After Chris left, I just sat around and went on my phone.

It started ringing and my heartbeat sped up as I saw who it was.

Incoming Call from: Simon

I tapped the answer button and put the phone up to my ear.

"Hello?"

"Hello Taylor, how've you been?" He asked.

"I've been good thank you."

"I was calling because I wanted to discuss some things with you. Is it okay if you can meet me at my office on Saturday?" He asked and my eyes widened.

"In London?"

"Yes. We'll get you your tickets." He said.

"Uhm okay. Yes, Saturday sounds great. Thank you."

"Alright. Bye, see you soon."

And our conversation was over.

Excitement suddenly started rushing all over my body.

What if I'm getting a recording contract?

What if I become famous?

My questions would have to wait.

"He called you?!" Hailey asked and I nodded.

"What about Niall? Is he coming?"

"Yeah. No one really cares for him at this school because he was already kinda popular so it'll be basically the same." I said.

"Oh I see. So did he get jealous when he saw you with Chris?" She asked.

I shrugged.

"How would I know?"

She shrugged.

"Sometimes it's obvious."

Suddenly, I spotted these big bright eyes.

Blue and pretty.

"Crap he's right there." I mumbled.

"Oh my gosh this'll be great." She said and called Chris.

He walked over to where we were and smiled.

"Hey there girls." He greeted and Niall was still looking over at us.

"Hey Chris. I'll leave you two alone for a bit, I've got to go fill up my water bottle." Hailey said and quickly whispered, "Just get a reaction out of blondie." And walked away.

She has a tendency to leave me alone with him.

I hate her.

It was just now that I realized I hadn't told her Niall and me made up once I left X-Factor.

The only reason I hadn't been talking to him was because we'd both always be too busy or tired.

And the incident at my house?

The awkwardness?

It was only because Chris was there. He probably thought I'd gotten a boyfriend or something.

"Hey I'll talk to you later. I have to do something." I said and Niall suddenly started walking toward us.

I decided to walk towards him instead.

I smiled.

He seemed surprised, but smiled back.

When I finally reached him we both spoke at the same time.

"Hey."

We laughed.

We decided to walk outside.

I hugged him.

He hugged me back.

It was just like when I left X-Factor.

"I missed you much." He said and I smiled.

"As much as I hate to admit it, I kinda missed you too."

As we pulled away we just stood there.

"I'm sorry you didn't win. I know how much this meant to you." I said.

"Likewise. I honestly thought you'd win. Don't tell anyone I said this but I think you were better than Cher." He whispered and I laughed.

"Well thanks. But uhm, Simon called me today." I said and he raised his eyebrows.

"Hey he called me too! I'm flying out on Saturday."

My eyes widened.

"Wait I'm flying out on saturday too! Do you think...?" I said, not finishing.

We both smiled.

"What if it happens?!" He said excitedly.

By now we were both smiling like idiots.

"I'd probably scream." I said.

"Honestly, I probably would too." He laughed.

The rest of the day we decided to go get some ice cream and just hang out.

Hailey and Chris tagged along.

I told Hailey about it and said she'd keep Chris.

I just laughed.

"So you guys are gonna be famous?" Chris asked, after taking a lick of his ice cream.

"I don't know yet. But I'll keep my fingers crossed." I said.

"This is the cutest love story." Hailey said and I just let out an awkward laugh.

"We're not dating." Niall said and Hailey just rolled her eyes as if he were lying.

"We're not!" I said.

"Well that's stupid because you like each other. You'll be the best celebrity couple. Naylor." She stated and I just gave her a look.

"Whatever."

Hailey and I went to the bathroom and Chris and Niall stayed.

Niall's POV:

"Man are you serious?" Chris said and I have him a puzzled look.

"What?"

"You obviously like her. Just ask her out already. Grow a pair and tell her." He said bluntly and I just looked at him for a free seconds.

"But- and if she says no?" I asked dumbly.

"Well then you just be friends. That's the worst that can happen. If you don't know she'll be gone." He said with a nonchalant tone.

I thought about it.

He was right.

Maybe I should.

After we dropped off Chris and Hailey it was just Taylor and I.

Before she got off, we sat there in silence.

I looked over to her, she was biting her bottom lip.

I could tell she wanted to say something but I didn't ask.

She turned her head to look at me.

Her eyes were big and pretty.

"What?" She said.

"What of what?" I asked dumbly.

"Why do you keep staring at me?" She asked with a shy smile on her face.

I'd been staring? Oh...

"Uhm well you- I uhm...you look really pretty." I said and she smiled.

"Oh. Thank you." She said, blushing a bit.

Chris' words echoed in my mind.

Just ask her already.

No I can't.

Spit it out.

Before I could keep arguing with myself, my mouth had a mind of its own and spoke.

"I really like you." I said and she seemed quite surprised at how straightforward I had been. "I know I was a jerk in the past sometimes but I never meant to hurt you. Ever since we started hanging out I just liked something about you. And I know you probably think I'm just saying that but it's true. But I guess what I'm really trying to say is, and I know this sounds a bit crazy because we've just started hanging out again but, do you wanna be my...uh well my girlfriend?" I said and suddenly I felt like I could breathe.

Her mouth was agape, almost as if she was lost for words.

She seemed to be in deep thought for like ten seconds.

Suddenly, the unimaginable happened: she smiled.

"I'd be crazy if I said I didn't want to."

And then I kissed her. And she kissed me back.

And it felt as if I'd finally won something.

We'd lost X-Factor but I'm sure this was almost the same, if not better, than winning that.

Because she was finally mine.

And right now, that's all I really cared about.
