AESOP

I can't believe the host separate the survivors and hunters for a month for the upcoming Call of Abyss but only chosen players by the host will play, the others will observe and for fun they will give votes and comments on the chosen survivors and hunters based on how we perform. 

I wonder what reward we will have this time 

We were separated to 5 members. 4 survivors; and 1 hunter that she chose for us and devise a plan for together.

Gladly, I was teamed up with Eli, William, Naib and Hastur. I was a little bit nervous having a hunter play with us and talking about plans. we were all waiting at our new rooms that the host made only for this event. The last one to enter was the nyartholep hunter and to my surprise he looks… human. Handsome even. 

Wow.

"Greetings survivors. Let me introduce myself. I'm Hastur, feaster." The tall hunter curtsy with grace.

"William! William Ellis! Forward." The bulky guy introduced with a proud puffed in his chest

"Naib Subedar, The mercenary. Let's do our best, Mr. Hunter!" Naib smiled gleefully

"Aesop Carl. The Embalmer… " I said softly. I turn to Eli and he was just sitting across the room all silent. That was weird usually Eli would be as jolly as Naib and William is, Could he be shy he'll be sleeping in one room with Naib, who knows? I walked up to him and tapped his arm,"Eli?"

"Hm? Oh… " Eli stood up and bowed,"Eli Clark… Seer… " 

I croaked my head towards Eli. He seemed quite odd. I turn my head to the hunter, his lips curled up into a mischievous smile when Eli introduced himself. 

Does this guy like Eli?

"Alright. Now that formalities have been settled. Let us continue with devising a plan for tomorrow's event." Hastur grabbed a seat and have his hands on the round table in the middle. We followed him as he did.

"So what's the plan! This is EXCITING! I want to win this!" William slammed his fist at the table

"Same sentiments, Mr. Ellis." Hastur smiled at his enthusiasm

"So, Mr. Hastur what are we gonna do?" I asked politely

"For one, I can give everyone here information regarding my fellow hunters weakness thus I won't tell much only some that will be an advantage to each and everyone's abilities here and in return you must give the same information to help me as your companion for this event." 

We all agreed and exchanged helpful details for the team to win this years event. while we devised a plan I noticed the occasional glances from Hastur and Eli. It got me so curious why… I looked at Naib and he seemed disturb by this. 

This is so freaking awkward on so many levels.

After the discussion, all of us went to our respective bed to rest for the night. I was still concern regarding Eli and Hastur. I am pretty sure something is up with them, I need to ask Eli about it. I turned to my side to check on Eli, to my surprise, he's awake, his sapphire eyes reflected mine, he often remove his blindfold off whenever he goes to sleep so I smiled at him

"Hey there, Eli… " I called out in a soft tone

"I’m surprised you’re still awake, Aesop, Knowing you to be a sleepy head---or maybe not because you’re always fixated at your phone staring at Norton’s nice biceps." Eli chuckled. I just rolled my eyes at him and ignored his commentary.

"Whatever. Bide the way, I want to ask you.” I scooted over to my side,“About the hunter… Hastur?" 

Eli blinked a couple of times and he gave me this awkward smile,"I knew you're going to ask. Hastur is my… um… ex… hehe… "

"WHAT!?" I exclaimed, I did NOT expect he will say that. When did all these happened?

"Q-q-quiet Aesop…! Shhhhhh!!!" 

"S-s-sorry… but… whaaaaa!?" 

"Yes yes. It's a long story so… I'll tell you some other time… okaaay???"

"Uh… uh huh… It's weird… "

"What the hell, Aesop." 

"You like tentacles Eli?" I teased

"Seriously. That's what you want to ask."

"Just kidding, trying to lighten up the mood."

"Thank you. In any case, goodnight! Let's do our best tomorrow."

"Sure will~ Night Eli!"

I’m still a little bit curious. I will probe Eli to tell me. This is a useful information for Naib. Damn, Eli and I have been best friends for a long time why haven't I know of this? He may be awkward having a relationship with a hunter. It is forbidden to enter in a relationship, only between hunters and survivors because the host believed that it will cause chaos to the game… but some survivors have hidden relationships with the hunters---I won't pry but they're brave.

The Flag

Rules of the game: There will be two teams that will play per round; each team will consist of 5 members. 

1 Hunter
4 Survivors

The Hunter's are tasked to protect their respective base while the survivors capture flags from each opposing team and retrieving it to their base

Survivors have two flags. If all of their flags have been taken by the opposing team they're out of the game.

You can steal the flags of the opposing team in their base, So hunter be prepared to attack.

HUNTER’S CANNOT STEAL FLAGS. Hunter's can only incapacitate the opposing survivors and wait for their members to retrieve the flag for them

Survivors and Hunters can use their items/skills to attack each other. Do not worry any in-game injuries will be healed after the game.

I’m so amazed. It’s like we’re in colosseum built by romans 70-80 AD and with all the players marching in the middle. From above, all the survivors, hunters are watching us and odd figures with masks are watching as well. How peculiar. As we all enter the center stage, I’ve gotten quite nervous. All eyes are on us. I tried to calm myself down when I felt a pair of hands placed on my shoulders. I turned around and see Norton with his toothy grin

“You okay?”

“N-norton!”

Norton hugged me from behind and gave me one sweet kiss on the cheek. I blushed by his bold affection. Our momentum stopped when a coughed from behind disturbs us

“Norton Campbell. Whatever lewd things are you thinking right now, It’s not appropriate it to show in the middle of the crowd.” A tall hunter with his mask hiding his face growled

“Whatever Jack, you’re just jealous of me and Aesop can go lovey dovey, wherever we want---”

“Norton Campbell!” The enchantress exclaimed, grabbing Norton by the ear and smiled at me,“Please do excuse us, Mr. Embalmer the little prospector and his team needs to discuss something for the game. Goodluck” 

“OW!” Norton squirmed in pain,"F*ck you pat! No wonder wu---ACK!"

"One more word about that person Campbell, I will curse you to be one of my monkey skulls!"

Jack snickered as he followed the enchantress from behind dragging Norton with her. I shook my head and let out a soft laugh.

First Game

Team White Vs Team Black

The other players including me, were seated in the front while we observe the first game laid out in front of us. I don't know why but Im kind of getting nervous for Norton. He is really grumpy today since he's not playing with me in the game. I hope he do well for his team. 

I'm the one to talk when I'm basically a loner. 

I watched as Helena's flag got snatched from her by Emma and another from Fiona. That's not good…

Oh!

Norton threw magnets at the two female survivor making them crushed to each other.

Ouch...

Norton snatched six of the flags and retrieved it to their base. Helena was running behind Norton and was stomping her feet angrily at Norton, Norton just shrugged his shoulders at her. Pfft so cute. Norton looked at me and gave me a playful wink. I flushed at his remark. Someone elbowed me from the side. I turn around to see Naib twitching his brow up and down

"Geez, you guys flirt so much~" 

"W-whatever." I rolled my eyes at him. I scanned the area and look for Eli and to my surprise he's not there. I wondered where he is and the hunter is not here as well. 

"Looking for Eli and Hastur they're at the back…" Naib said with a cold tone

"Y-you noticed something odd?" I asked worriedly 

"It's obvious Aesop they have something going on…"

"A...ah…"

I want to scream at Eli internally. Ex my ass, like Naib my ass. Eli you're giving Naib the wrong idea about your relationship with Hastur. I was hesitant to check on them and missed my boyfriend's game

TEAM BLACK WINS!

Shoot! I was busy watching Naib, Eli and Hastur. Hope the host have a replay of this. I wanted to congratulate Norton but were up next. 

When were about to enter the stage Eli and Hastur appeared. I pear at Eli and he didn't even bat an eye at me. Now, I got a little bit worried. We walked towards the center as I let out a sharp breath. 

“Here goes nothing…” 

The game wasn't long…

Everyone in my team struggled against Michiko's team…

Because of Eli…

And Naib...

In a flash we lost… 

I don’t even want to explain how we FREAKING lost because of these two!!! They kept bickering with each other and like what the hell is wrong with them!? William and I got so pissed and even Mr. Hastur did not expect the turn of events. I angrily grabbed the two by the collar

“WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!?”

I exclaimed and I don’t care if everyone in the arena is hearing me scold these idiots! They freaking messed up for the team. They weren't helping each other, snagging the flags from the other team. They run away in an instant when they meet or they didn't protect each other, Both of them relied on me and william until Mr. Hastur got cornered by kreacher and kurt at the base, with the thief being fast on his feet and the explorer as the distraction, no one protected Mr. Hastur and our flags cause William and I are busy protecting Eli and Naib!

“He started it” The two replied in unison while pointing at each other and looked away shyly

I growled at both of them,“Look you two! I don’t know what’s going on but ugh… ! We lost because you two didn't cooperate!”

“I… “ Eli was about to speak up and I glared at him

“Look! If this is about you TWO having feelings for each other that’s making you two fail the games, I swear Eli and Naib! Can you two just confessed to each other already!?”

“WHAAA?!” Another unified replied

“Eli, Naib likes you okay!” I looked at Eli with reassurance and I faced Naib,“Naib, Eli likes you! Dammit whatever you’re thinking about Naib and Jack, Eli, They are so NOT a thing and you too Naib! Hastur and Eli might have a thing back then but they’re over! And you both being so shy about your feelings won't help you two grow! Geez! Just confessed to each other already!”  I screamed at the top of my lungs. I saw Naib and Eli’s flustered face

Oh fudge…! I didn’t mean to spill it all out!

Goodness, This is so awkward the whole stadium is quiet

AHHH!!! I’ve done it! I was about to dig a hole for whatever secrets, The three of our faces burned in crimson red. Eli and Naib looked at each other and I covered my face with my palm sneaking glances between my fingers. 

Ground swallow me.

“GOOD JOB BABE!”

I know that voice, I stared at the bench and saw Norton. He was clapping and smiling from ear to ear. He looks so amused, I swear I want to punch my boyfriend right now, He is so NOT helping!

“Eli… um… About what Aesop said…” Naib spoke to break the tension

“N-no… Uh… S-sorry… !” Eli bowed apologetically, “There’s nothing going on between me and hastur anymore, I swear… I have my eyes on you… like alone… I… Like you… er… love…"

“I like you too…love...um... and about Jack… I can explain last time! I swear I'd never---"

“I know that kiss was forced…”

“But you still got hurt.”

“Well… “

“You can disinfect if you want--with your lips”

“WHAAAAA?!”

“Just kidding”

“Pfft, whatever…”

“I love you, Eli Clark”

“I love you too, Naib”

I rolled my eyes at them. 

Finally, They confessed. Why did I suddenly felt goosebumps, I'm still not used to the cheesiness.

Cheers from the crowd and praises for these two naive lovers resound the venue. I’m happy for them and as for my dimwitted boyfriend, He needs to be punished for the ruckus then again I wanted to thank him and congratulate him too.

Time to rest up for the final event.
