12 || This is it
Delilah's P.O.V.
I skip down the streets happily as I get ready to get my stuff as a blue mustang pulls up next to me. I let out a loud sigh as Bob and Randy get out. "What do my sister's pathetic ex-boyfriend club want?"
Randy leans over whispering to Bob, "ain't Daisy, but it's next best thing Delilah. Wanna?"
Bob nods as he confirms it, "get her."
Randy goes to tackle me to the ground, but I dodge it punching him in the nose. CRACK! "Oooh that must of hurt," I chuckle evilly.
"Little..." Randy stops there kicking me to the ground. I face plant cutting my face up on the ground. I spin around tripping both of them. We all jump up to the air and I punch Bob in the gut sending him to the ground. I roll my eyes punching the side of Randy's nose as I flip out my switch, "get away from me now!"
Randy stands up followed closely by Bob both with their switches. Randy rolls his eyes, "we're not afraid."
As he comes forward I stab the blade into his stomach, but not deep enough to do anything. Bob tackles me to the ground and I know it's game over as he knocks the switch out of my hand cutting up my wrists. He moves over stabbing my stomach making me gag. He cuts my face punching in my eyes giving me bruises. My world swirls around turning black, but before anything I hear a familiar guy's voice, "get the hell off my sister."
Dally's P.O.V.
"Get the hell off my sister!" I yell as I watch Bob slashes my sister just like he did to Daisy. I guess I'm no better than him though.
I dash over to him tackling him down to the ground and punches his face in. I lean over grabbing the blade, I try to stop. 'STOP! STOP! STOP! DALLAS STOP!' I mentally yell myself, but I can't. I slap him across the face cutting up his cheek. I cut his sides up and down as blood pours out onto the street. I hold the blade with my two hands right up high as a stare at a passed out Bob.
"DALLAS!" I hear Daisy yell in horror. "Please stop!"
I look back to see tears pouring down Daisy's cheek as Soda holds her back, "calm down, Daisy. Calm down."
I drop the knife next to Bob scooping Del the ground, "lets go home."
Daisy's P.O.V.
It's been a few weeks since the Bob incident and we're hanging out with the gang for the first time in forever. I cuddle up to Soda, "I love you Sodapop."
"I love you too Daisy," he pecks my forehead making me smile as we hear a knock on the door.
"I got it," I stand up walking over to the door to see a man in a suit standing there. "Hello, how may I help you?"
"Are Delilah and Daisy Winston here?" The man speaks. "I'm Brad."
"Daisy speaking," I turn around to look at the gang all talking as I go outside. "Is something wrong?"
"Yes," he nods. "It's come to my attention that there has been screams at the Winston house in the middle of the night. Crashing, booms, and that the Winston girls never wear short sleeves."
"Is that a problem?" I ask him hoping he doesn't know as I nervously tug at my shirt. "Who even are you?"
"I'm a social worker," he informs me and my eyes become wide as I run inside the house slamming the door and everybody's eyes are on me.
"Stay here," Dally whispers to me as he answers the door despite our drunk father.
"Hello little boy," I hear a women speak faintly. "Are Dallas, Delilah, and Daisy Winston here?"
I watch behind the wall cowering in fear as Dally nods his head, "I-Is that an issue ma'am?"
She kneels down to his height and smiles sweetly as if saying everything is gonna be okay, "don't worry about anything Dallas. We're gonna take you and your sisters to a better place."
"I know what that means," he remarks. "It means we'll no longer be in New York and that you'll be splitting us up."
"You're a very smart boy," she smiles. "We're just gonna help you though. I promise Dallas."
That was the night we ran
Dally looks at me alarmed, "Daisy, are you okay?"
I shake my head slightly and Soda steps up, "what's wrong? Who was at the door?"
"A social worker," I whisper barely audible as I tug at my clothing feeling like everybody know that I get beat.
Dally's P.O.V.
I storm outside coming face to face with a social worker, "what the hell do you want?"
"Dallas Winston," he smirks.
"I'm not hitting my sisters!" I scream at him with much fury.
"She said nothing about hitting," he winks. "Guilty conscience?"
I shake my head pushing him back, "it's none of your damn business!"
"Dallas you are aggressive, you're a criminal, you've been put in a mental hospital," he starts to list. "You drink, you've sold drugs, you've done drugs, you're a drop out. You're NOT a stable guardian. Daisy and Delilah are gonna end up with scars mental and if our suspicions are true, physical too. If you love them, you would give them to us."
Tears build in my eyes, "I do love my sisters."
"Do you?" He asks trying to get in my head and it's working.
"I did nothing to my sisters!" I yell blinking back tears. "I love them."
"Even if you never hit them, you're telling me you are a good responsible person who should be raising two fifteen year old girls?" He questions. "I mean you were in a mental hospital for three months Mr.Winston and from what I heard you have girls coming in and out of your house, their home. What do you think that teaches them?"
I twitch as he speaks and the second he shuts up I break, "what do you expect? I had to runaway with my sisters at a young age because, our alcoholic father beat us! He raped me, he told me this is how to be a man. We were never allowed to cry, we all grew up never crying. Of course I went to a mental hospital. Of course I have a bad history with women, my father told me that's how to be a man! My mother died when the girls with three, I was only eight. I was just a kid. I may have hurt my sister a few times, but I am protecting them from the man who abused us and raped me as a kid! I'm sorry, I'm just doing my best and you can't blame me for that!"
"We'll pick up the girls on Wednesday night," the guy clears his throat before he walks off.
I sit down on the porch burring my face in y palms as hot tears pour our of my eyes. Daisy and Delilah walk out sitting next to me. I look at them sadly, "this is it."
Daisy chokes back tears, "I love you Dallas."
Delilah looks at me sadly, she's the strongest out of the three of us and even she's almost in tears, "I'm so sorry. I love you so much and I'm so sorry. I was terrible to you. I'm so sorry Dallas. I love you."
I pull my girls into a tight hug as Charlie comes out and for the last time, we'll all gonna be a family, "I love you guys, so much. You two are my world, no matter what happens."
Charlie puts her hand on my shoulder as if saying she's there, "we're gonna pull through this and we're all gonna be a family. I promise. I love you girls."
Daisy stands up hugging her as she lets tears glide swiftly down her cheeks, "I love you too Charlie. We're gonna be okay."
"No!" I yell as I sob. "Nothing is ever gonna be okay. We're not gonna be okay. This is it guys! What don't you understand? This is it! We have until tomorrow night. So Daisy, Delilah get ready because, the next three years, we won't be together. Lets go home."
Delilah's P.O.V.
I wake up the next morning to a ringing phone. I pick up the phone groggily answer, "hello?"
"Del?" I recognize the voice as Steve.
"Mmm," I reply sleepily.
"I need you at the DX fast," he speaks quick.
"Give me ten," I reply. "Bye Steve."
"Bye Del," I hear something in his voice change, it sounds like he wishes he never made the call.
I stand up putting on an over-sized flannel that is actually Steve's with black jeans, high tan boots, and gray socks that show up top. I put my long black curly hair in a high ponytail and leave the house only leaving a note behind.
I walk into the DX and walks over to Steve, "hey Stevie, what's up baby?"
"You're gonna hate me," is all he says.
"Why?" I ask confused. "You're kind of all I have left with everything else going on."
"No, you don't have me," he informs me.
"Why?" I ask still confused.
He looks at me as if pondering what to do then he continues, "I hooked up with Evie last night. I even told her I loved her. "
Hot tears roll down my cheeks as I grab his hand, "I don't care. I love you Steve." He sits there in silence and I just stare at him as tears roll down my cheeks. "I love you."
"What do you want me to do?" He asks back.
"I love you," I choke out through tears.
He shakes his head, "well I don't love you and I'm back with Evie."
"No, you're not," I cry loudly. "You're not back with Evie because, you don't love her. You love me."
"I wanted to hook up with you," he corrects. "I love Evie, I always have."
"I-I should go," I sigh. "Goodbye Steve....forever." My lip trembles as I walk away with my head down. He looks at me with guilty eyes as anger boils up in me.
Steve's P.O.V. (Shocker!)
I count the steps she takes as she walks away, "goodbye Steve.....forever."
As I hear the door close I sit down on the counter letting the tears stream freely, "I love you too Delilah Winston, I always will." I wipe the tears off my face as Soda comes in.
"Cheated on her?" He asks sitting next to me. "At least you have Evie. You just didn't have to be rough, she's going through a lot. I know it hurts to lose your best friend-"
I cut him off there, "she wasn't my best friend, I love her and I never cheated on her. I wouldn't dare! I love her!"
"Why'd you tell her you did then?" He asks.
"It'll be easier for her to leave," I simply say.
"And why do you think that?" He questions.
"She's better off without me okay?" I blink back tears. "She's leaving everything behind her Sodapop. I can't drag her down. It'll be easier for her to get over me if she hates me then if we can't be in love. It's whats best for her and I'm sorry. I hated seeing her like that. I just wish I didn't have to do it. Okay? Just leave me alone and make Daisy hate you. It's whats best for them. Think of her."
"I just hope Delilah doesn't do something stupid to land her ass in jail or worse, with nobody, no family, no friends, no nothing," Soda speaks up knowing that's something Del would do.
"I had to," I try not to cry as I think back to Delilah. I love her so much. I love how strong she is. I love how confident she is, how she can take the world, how nothing phases her. I just love her. I want to marry her. "I love her."
"Maybe it would be easier for the girls," Soda walks away, but before he walks into the garage he turns back to look at me, "but would it be right for them?"
As he walks into the garage I let the tears fall freely. I already miss everything about her.
Delilah's P.O.V.
I don't care anymore! Steve is gone. The gang's gone. Dally's gone. Charlie's gone. The only hope I have is Daisy and she'd be better off without me. I walk to the Soc side of town with a bat in hand, a switch in my pocket, and keys. I walk up to Randy's house first. I smash the hood of his car with a bat as I cry loudly. I smash it as hard as I can then move to his windshield shattering glass. I grab a piece of the glass cutting my hands as I do so and pop his tires scratching the car. My blood stains the car as I do so, but I don't care anymore. I grab the keys scratching the side of the car as Randy comes out, "what the hell do you think you're doing Delilah?"
I flip out my switch blade, "don't come any closer or I swear I'll skin you alive and leave you to die on the side of the road."
"What happened to you?" Randy asks as he watches my hands pour blood out onto the side of street. "You should go to the hospital."
"I don't need the damn hospital!" I yell as tears stream down my cheeks. "I don't need anything! I don't need Daisy, or Dally, or the gang, and I especially don't need stupid Steve Randall!"
"Del, you should calm down," he inches toward me.
"Don't tell me to calm down and don't take one more step or I swear to god Randy!" I scream loudly.
"Go home," he speaks soothingly.
I drop the blade to the ground still crying, "where is home?"
"I'm so sorry," Randy walks over hugging me now that the blade is on the ground. "I don't know what happened, but I'm sorry. I'm so sorry"
In his arms I just sob, I don't hug back. I don't say anything, I just cry until I find the strength to speak, "why is life so cruel?"
"What happened?" Randy asks.
"I-I'm leaving Tulsa. Daisy and I are getting ripped out of our home...And Steve cheated on me with his ex. They're a thing now and he loves her."
He smashes his lips against mine. As we pull apart he stares deeply into my eyes, "he's stupid then."
"You know you were dating Daisy right?" I ask him just to make sure.
"Maybe I was wrong," he speaks softly. "Falling for the wrong sister."
I stand up, "I-I should go. I only have a few more hours with my family." I run off leaving Randy standing in the front yard with a broken car, tears in his eyes, confused, and with a runaway girl.
Whoa, lots of drama in this chapter! I want to hear what you guys think. You get to see a totally different side of so many people I feel. This chapter was centered around Delilah. You also now know a lot more about Dallas. Ugh, the next chapter is huge. Stay gold. Do it for Johnny!
