Chapter 62

"I know where Vee is." Remus said confidently. Roman raised his head.

"Where is he? Where does he live?" Roman asked.

"The Summers House." Remus said.

Roman scrunched his face up in confusion. "The Summers House? The only people who've lived there have been the Summers since the house was built."

Remus shrugged. "Maybe your Vee hasn't been as truthful as you would've hoped." He said. He patted Roman on the shoulder. "C'mon, we've got to find your boyfriend."

"He's not- Vee's not-" Roman looked down, blushing. "Vee's not my boyfriend."

"You're right." Remus said. "He's your future husband." Remus grinned and laughed as Roman tried to shove him.

"You have terrible aim, Ro." Remus laughed. Roman crossed his arms.

"Maybe it's something to do with the fact that I can't see!" Roman protested. Remus laughed again.

"Big baby. C'mon." Remus rolled his eyes at his brother. "To the Summers House!"

Remus had gotten around the corner before he realised Roman wasn't following him. "Ro?" He asked. "You okay?"

"Fine, fine, fine." Roman said quickly. Remus stared at him for a second.

"Is it because we've left all the files everywhere?" He asked.

"No, it's not tha- Re." Roman sighed. "I'm just worried, you know? Vee didn't want me to find him, he was really scared. What if he doesn't want to see me?"

Remus sighed. "Ro, you know how Vee is the same person as the forest sprite?"

"Yeah..."

"He's in love with you." Remus said. "Just trust me on this. Even if he wasn't the forest spirit, he's come back three nights in a row in the hopes of seeing you again. He's definitely in love with you." Remus gave Roman a shove out of the door. "Now come on. We've wasted enough time already."

Patton rocked backward and forwards on his heels. Virgil was never this late.

"C'mon, Virge." He muttered. "Where are you?"

The church clock chimed. Four o'clock. Virgil should definitely be here now. Patton looked round the street. The Summers House wasn't that different from the others on the street. Only difference was it had a much brighter door. Purple, instead of navy blue like the others.

"Suppose something's happened..." Patton thought. "Edin and Thalia are really horrid people..."

Patton took a deep breath and started walking up the street. How different it felt from last night. Patton had felt a lot more confident in his suit and coat-tails walking in the dark of night.

"It's so weird." Patton thought as he walked up to the door of Virgil's house. "Virge would've said if he couldn't make it today."

Patton knocked on the door three times. He waited. And waited. And waited.

Just as he was going to give up and leave, the door opened. Edin glared at him.

"What?" He asked.

"I, um, I was just wondering if..." Patton took a breath. "Where's Virgil?" He asked, trying to sound confident. Edin looked him up and down like he was a bit of dirt not fit to be stepped on.

"He's busy." Edin said.

"Can I talk to him?" Patton asked.

"No." Edin snapped. Was it just Patton's imagination or did Edin sound a little scared? "No, you can't. He's busy and this is really the only time he's ever been productive."

"But-"

"Go away." Edin snapped, cutting Patton off. He slammed the door in the blacksmith's son's face. Patton blinked.

"Rude." He thought. "Not fit to call Virgil's house his home."

Patton crunched down the gravel drive, then stopped. Was he really going to believe Virgil's step-brother? After everything Virgil had told him? No way. Patton knelt down as if he was tying his shoe and looked up at the house. No one was looking through the window. Perfect.

Patton jumped up and ran round the side of the house, hiding against the wall of the small tower at the back of the house.

"Now we wait." He thought, sitting down.

I don't know what's going on with this story anymore. Also, has anyone seen PoetTheyThem? This is really their story but I haven't seen them since, like, Janus showed up or some time like that.
Bye,
Blaize
