Chapter 50

Patton shook his head slightly to clear it. Whatever that person had been, it wasn't any of his business. And, although he'd never admit it even to himself, he was scared.

Barely looking where he was going, Patton walked right into someone.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" He said quickly, putting his hands up in front of him. "Logan? What're you doing out here?"

Logan smoothed his shirt down and straightened his glasses. "Is it illegal for me to walk around outside, now?" He asked, his tone indicating he wasn't angry.

"I- no but... I just thought you'd be inside." Patton said. "You don't seem like a people person."

Logan shrugged and smoothed his hair. "Would you perhaps go for a walk with me?" He asked.

Patton smiled. "If you can bear being seen with a simple blacksmith's son."

Logan shook his head and smiled a little. He hesitated and then took Patton's hand. "Come on." He said quietly. Patton laughed and followed Logan. "And you're not simple." Logan said. "In any way."

"Well, I'm following an almost complete stranger to an unknown location." Patton teased. "I'd say that merits some simple-mindedness."

Logan rolled his eyes and tilted Patton's chin up. He pressed their lips together quickly, just a gentle quick kiss, before pulling back.

Patton blinked a few times, feeling a light blush dust his cheeks. It was odd. Out of everyone he'd ever kissed, that particular kiss with this particular boy had made him blush.

"I'm not gonna do anything to you, okay Patton?" Logan asked. "And you don't have to trust me if you don't want to, nor do you have to follow me."

"No, no, I trust you." Patton said quickly. "Now come on," he said eagerly, "lead the way."

"The forest?" Patton asked, a little laugh at the back of his voice. Logan shrugged, rubbing his arm.

"We can always go back if-" Logan was cut off by Patton pulling him down by his tie and kissing him. Recognising what was happening, he cupped Patton's face and kissed him back. Patton grinned into the kiss, one of his hands creeping into Logan's hair. His other hand traced a pattern down Logan's side, making Logan shiver under the touch.

Patton pulled back just a little, so if he wanted to kiss Logan again he could. He grinned at Logan and didn't say anything as he reconnected their lips. Logan sighed into the kiss contentedly.

"No, I like it here." Patton said, pulling back from the kiss. Logan blinked at him, a little dazed. Patton giggled. "We don't have to go back to the castle, is what I'm saying." He walked Logan back until Logan's back hit a tree. "We can just stay right here."

Logan blinked again, a slow blush climbing up his face. "I, um, I'd like that too." His voice was barely above a murmur. Patton grinned - his smile was almost a smirk now - and pressed a kiss to Logan's neck. Logan stifled a gasp as he did.

"Thought you would." Patton said quietly, standing up on his tip-toes so his and Logan's faces were level. He kissed Logan again.
