Chapter 39

Fuck it, I'm writing logicality-

Patton giggled as he watched Virgil head off to the gardens. His friend was definitely meeting someone there.

"I wanna go spy." He decided. "But then Logan's not gonna want to spy..." Patton tapped the bridge of his glasses as he thought. "Logan it is." He thought before he hurried into the castle.

The ballroom was incredibly huge and incredibly grand. It was just the sort of room you'd expect to be in a castle but never actually think was there. It was all blue, with vines and curls of silver trailing up the walls to the ceiling. Patton was sure the ceiling was almost entirely real silver. Everything was so rich here, almost too rich for a castle. This room looked like it should only be in fantasy, resigned to the pages of a book, not somewhere you could actually go.

Patton had spent most of the first night looking around the ballroom in wonder. Now, he needed to find Logan.

Patton craned his head, trying to look over the crowd for the servant. This was very difficult, considering Patton's small build and the fact that Logan seemed to have disappeared.

"Looking for someone?" Logan asked from beside him, making Patton jump.

"Yeah, actually." Patton said. "Very cute servant boy. Bout my age, insanely tall, insanely hot, goes by the name Logan. You seen him?" Patton could barely keep it together, letting a giggle or two slip at Logan's face.

Logan pushed his glasses up his nose and smoothed his hair down. "I...- uhm..." He covered his mouth with his hand, blushing. Patton giggled.

"You're so cute when you're flustered." He said. He took Logan's hand and pulled him out of the ballroom. "Come on, come on!"

"Patton, where are you taking me?" Logan asked. "Also, do you even know where you're going?"

"Nope!" Patton crowed in delight. "Just looking for somewhere private."

"If we're going to go anywhere, I would suggest the best place is the library." Logan said, oblivious to Patton's tone. "No one's going to be in there, not even Prince Remus."

Patton giggled. He used Logan's hand to spin himself around and stood up on his tip-toes, giving Logan a quick kiss on the cheek. Logan's eyes widened and his face went bright pink.

"Uhm- uh-" He tried to stutter out a sentence, much to Patton's delight. Patton laughed adoringly.

"Like I said, adorable when you're flustered." He said. Logan took a deep breath and smoothed down his hair again.

"The library is this way." He said, trying to keep any of his composure and failing pretty miserably. Patton giggled again, following Logan. How was it possible for a single human to be so innocently adorable yet so flirty and suggestive at the same time?

Patton spun around in the library, taking in all the book in wonder.

"Wow." He said quietly. "Have you read all of these?"

"Not all of them." Logan said. "Some of them are in braille for Prince Roman. And besides, these books aren't really for me either."

"You're telling me we're not meant to be here, then?" Patton asked, grinning. Logan shrugged, ignoring the way his stomach flipped whenever Patton grinned.

"You could say." Logan said. "Why?" He asked suspiciously.

Patton smirked. "Just wondering." He stood up on his tip-toes again and kissed Logan, cupping his face to stay balanced. Logan's eyes widened before he registered what was happening. He put his hands on Patton's hips and felt Patton smile into the kiss. There was nothing heated or passionate about the kiss, it was just the right amount of gentleness and sweetness that made Logan blush right to his ears.

Patton pulled back slowly, grinning his infuriatingly adorable grin at Logan. He giggled. "You're so adorable." He said.

Logan smoothed his hair down again. "You can't talk." He managed to stutter out. Patton laughed.

Does this have anything to do with the plot? No
Why is this here? *motions to flirty Patton and flustered Logan* LIFE SOURCE!
