I started to wait for the release of a new Kirby & The Forgotten Lands video game on Switch as I sit outside from GameStop.

Me: Only 5 more minutes left.

Me: I started to live a new life. My parents supported my decision to major in game development. While going to college, I work as a game tester at EA Sports. I don’t work on Madden. I work on Fifa, make some money.

???: Hey!

I then turn to my D&D partner & girlfriend Tsutsuji, running toward me.

Me: Hey, Tsutsuji.

Tsutsuji: Is the game out already?

Me: The game is out, but the shop will be open soon.

Tsutsuji: Amazing.

Me: This is Tsutsuji. She is a foreign exchange student at my college…& my girlfriend for three years. I met her when we all were in our first year. She also had some friends, Kuroki & Yuri, who are both dating as well.

GameStop then open up as we both got our copy.

Tsutsuji: I heard about the new hats that changes up the abilities.

Me: I agree.

Tsutsuji then smiled. I looked at her & smiled, before I started to talk, I was shot twice in each lungs. I started to fall as I caught myself, then looked behind to see a dark hooded person. Tsutsuji then went to me & help me lean on the wall, while the person is on the ground being held by a cop.

Tsutsuji: Khiry! Please! Stay with me!

Khiry: It’s hurts, Tsutsuji… it’s hurts…

Tsutsuji: I don’t want you to die!

I then see someone calling an ambulance. I then looked at Tsutsuji.

Khiry: It… might… be… a bit… earlier…

I weakly reach in my pocket & pull a case with a wedding ring in it. Tsutsuji seen it, then look at me as I slowly close my eyes.

Tsutsuji: Khiry!

Khiry: I… love… you…………. To………death…………..

???: Confirmed. Heat Resistance acquisition successful. Confirmed. Stab Resistance acquisition successful. Continuing. Physical Attack Resistance acquisition successful. Confirmed. Pain Nullification acquired. Creating a body that does not require blood. Successful. Cold Resistance acquisition successful. Acquisition of Heat Resistance & Cold Resistance resulting acquisition of new skill, Thermal Fluctuation Resistance. Deletion of data via electric current has failed due to insufficient information. As an alternate measure, Electric Current Resistance acquired. Attached is Paralysis Resistance. Acquisition successful. Unique skill: Inhale, Copy Ability, & Endless Stomach acquisition successful. Extra skill: Powerful lungs acquisition successful.

The paramedics just came as they took Khiry & Tsutsuji went with them.

Khiry: My body… what is happening… to me... I heard voices… That person… shot me… I remember now. I wanted to panicked, but… my D&D friends told me it is okay to panicked & after to get your head in the game. Kuroki… Yuri… please… promise me… that Tsutsuji will still be happy.

???: Hey.

Khiry: I am hearing…

???: Hey…

Khiry: This isn’t… Kuroki… then…

Khiry then moved his body as he seen the cosmos space. Outside, there was a blue Slime looking at a stubby arm moved as it then get up on his feet to look at slime.

Slime: Can you hear me?

Khiry: A slime that talks!?

Khiry panicked then run into a wall as he then roll back, then think.

Khiry: Was that you?

Slime: Yes.

Khiry POV
During our time, this slime then told me that he was once a man named Satoru Mikami. He was stabbed, died, & now reincarnated as a Slime. I told him that I was shot, died, & now reincarnated…as Kirby from Kirby, which brings me so much joy! I am watching Satoru the Slime flocks within the plants.

Satoru: There’s no point, but I don’t feel right if I’m not doing something, Khiry.

Me: Well, what should we do? Besides, where does these plants go after you eat it?

Satoru: Well, I haven’t pooped or…

???: Answer.

Satoru & I freaked out.

???: It is stored in the stomach of your unique skill, Predator..

Satoru: Th-That voice… I heard it when I was stabbed, too!

Me: Me, too! Who are you?

???: Answer. It is the effect of your unique skill, Great Sage. Now that both of your ability is established, both of you are capable of reacting more quickly.

Satoru: Great Sage… So, um, does “skill” mean our abilities? What is “Predator”?

???: It allows you to ingest & analyze them within your body. You can then acquire that object’s skills. Once the analysis is complete, you can mimic the object, as well.

Satoru: Oh.

Me: Cool.

???: The stomach stores the objects you ingest. It can also isolated harmful objects that cannot be analyzed.

Satoru: Th-This “Predator” seems like a pretty amazing ability. Is it really something a Slime should have?

Me: I wonder what unique abilities do I have?

???: Answer. It is established that your unique skills, Inhale & Copy Abilities.

Satoru: Is it similar to “Predator”?

???: Answer. It allows you to ingest & analyze them within your body. You can then acquire that object’s abilities. Once the analysis is complete, you can mimic the abilities, as well. The stomach store the objects you inhale, it can also turn non objects into Stars.

Me: Similar & different to your “Predator,” Satoru.

Satoru: I see. But, hey, since I do have it… As a test, can you analyze the plants I ate?

???: Analysis complete. Hipokute herbs. A valuable herb that only grows in areas rich in magicules. Used as an ingredient in salves & healing potions.

Satoru: Magicules?

Me: I believe it’s this world term for “Mana”, Satoru.

???: Yes. They are the building blocks of life in all magical beings.

Satoru: Building blocks of life? I get it. This cave must be full that stuff, which is why all these valuable herbs grow here, right? So I can analyze these hipokute herbs & store them in my stomach. Does that mean I can create & store salves & healing potions within my own body?

???: Precisely.

Satoru: Khiry, if you can inhale some of these hipokute herbs, you can bring it out when I am out of them in my body. Ready?

Me: Yes.

Satoru: Okay, then… Inhale!

I started to inhale as some of the hipokute herbs started to be plucked. I stop & swallowed the herbs. However, I then started to gain abilities, but I don’t feel a change. I look at Satoru as he looked what is on top of my head. I looked up to see A crown of leaves with an emerald with a golden bezel on the forehead. The crown also has two thin withered leaves on the back.

???: Analysis complete. Hipokute herbs have granted you the Leaf Ability. Leaf focuses on throwing out leaves to deal damage. Some leaves twirl around, while others are fired more directly. Leaf is capable of cutting ropes. Leaf also has a special guard that makes it invincible to all attacks.

Me: Cool!

I then see Satoru swallowed a bunch of hipokute herbs along the path he is going. I then run after him. I then see him rest on a shiny crystal.

???: Magic ore. Minerals that spend long periods of time in magicule-rich areas take in magicules until they become magic ore. It is very valuable.

Satoru: Really?! Okay, then!

Satoru then devour the Magic ore as he return to normal.

Satoru: Magic ore’s pretty awesome, too! Wanna try, Khiry?

I then see another magic ore.

Me: Wait, I can’t get rid of my Leaf ability, can I?

???: Answer. You can get rid of your current ability either by being dealt a powerful blow or manually on your own. However, you still can copy back into it within your endless void.

Me: Sweet & convenient.

I then got rid of my leaf ability, which then my hat turn into a green star with a leaf on it. I then inhale powerful as the magic ore broke off & swallowed it.

???: Analysis complete. Due to the glowing magicules of the magic ore, you have gain two new copy abilities: Stone ability & Mirror ability.

Me: Mirror ability?

I then heard splashing & saw water a bit. I then run to see nothing but water. I then started to inhale some water. However, something propelled on the surface of the water. It was Satoru. I, with a mouth full of water, is surprised, but worried as he was going too fast, & launched himself out of the water. I then swallowed the water.

???: Analysis complete. Water have granted you a new copy ability: Water ability.

Me: Ok. Activate Water ability.

I then wear a Gold crown with a golden drop-shaped ornament on the center with two small golden waves on each side, holding a vortex of water similar to Tornado.

Me: Now, if I called a technique, I can surf, right?

???: Answer. Technique: Surf. A special dash move that let you surfs on a wave. This move allows you to travel over the surface of a body of water or a fiery platform.

Me: Ok.

I then surf on the body of water.

Me: I hope Satoru is OK.

???: Can you hear me, small ones?

Me: Huh? I better hurry.

???: Technique: Wave Surf. Raises your surf wave and deals damage for several seconds. You are invulnerable during the attack.

Me: That is fast.

I then use Wave Surf to go faster.

???: Can you hear me, small ones? Hey! I know both of you can hear me!

I then jump off of my wave & landed next to Satoru, scaring him a bit.

Me: Sorry. Are you talking to us?

???: Answer me.

Satoru: Easy for you to say! How am I supposed to talk when I don’t have a mouth?! Khiry, do the talking for us!

I tried talking, but my words are baby words. I was disappointed.

???: Hey!

Satoru: Just shut up already, baldy!

???: Oh? You called me a baldy, eh? I see you have guts.

Satoru: Uh…

The silhouette of a dragon then roared, scaring me & Satoru.

Dragon: I was trying to be nice since I haven’t had a visitor in so long, but you seem to have a death wish.

Me & Satoru: I’m sorry! I’m sorry!

Satoru: We had no idea you could hear our thoughts! I don’t have a mouth or even eyes, you see…

The dragon then started to laugh out loud, confusing me.

Dragon: It amazed me that you would say such a thing after seeing me, but it turns out you can’t see me, yet your friend can, eh? All right, I will give you sight.

Satoru: Huh?

Dragon: However, there will be conditions. What do you say?

Satoru: What sort of conditions?

Dragon: Both of you must not fear me when you have the ability to see me, & both of you must talk to me again. That’s all. A good deal for the both of you, is it not?

Me: That is all we have to do?

Dragon: Yes. You see, I was sealed here 300 years ago. Ever since then, I’ve had nothing to do, & it’s unbearably boring. What do you say?

Satoru: I’m curious as to why you were sealed, but… Okay, we’ll gladly do it!

Dragon: Very well, There is a skill called Magic Sense. Can both of you use it?

Me: No. We can’t.

Dragon: It allows you to sense the magicules around you.

Satoru: If we can detect magicules, I’ll be able to see? Okay, I guess I’ll try it.

Satoru then started to concentrate to see without eye balls.

Satoru: Hey, there’s something… Is this the stuff you call magicules?

I decided to do the same & then, I see magicules as well.

Me: Amazing.

???: Extra skill: Magic Sense acquired.

Satoru: That’s easily?!

Me: It said, “extra.” What does that mean.

???: Skills with power & efficiency magnitudes higher than those of normal skills.

Satoru: Wow! “Extra” sounds awesome!

???: Would you like to use Magic Sense?

Me & Satoru: Yes!

Satoru & I then use Magic Sense. Satoru is amazed at the sight & even more amazed to find out that I am Kirby…

Satoru: I can see! I can see! I can actually see! I actually see a Pink Kirby!

Me: Pink?!

Satoru: Oh, yeah!

Satoru went to the water to see his reflection as I then followed him.

Satoru: I really am a Slime.

I then looked to see my reflection.

Me: Why Pink?

Satoru: Isn’t that Kirby’s main color?

Me: Oh, yeah.

Dragon: Well?

Satoru: Oh, right!

We then went back to the dragon.

Satoru: We did it! Thanks so much!

Me: 3, 2, 1…

Satoru freaked out when he sees the dragon that helped us.

Satoru: D-Dragon?!

The dragon motioned us to come closer so we did.

Satoru: Khiry, how come you didn’t told me there was a dragon in front of us?!

Me: You never asked me!

The dragon then lean forward.

Dragon: Allow me to formally introduce myself.

Me & Satoru: O-Okay…

Veldora: I am the Storm Dragon, Veldora.

Satoru: Storm Dragon?

Veldora: I am one of only four True Dragons that exist in this world.

Veldora then chuckled, then laughed as he calmed down.

Veldora: Hey, both of you do remember our promise, don’t you?

Satoru: O-Of course! I’m not scared at all! Well, we’ll come to chat again sometime!

Veldora: Hold it!

Satoru panicked.

Veldora: This is indeed unusual. Slimes are normally low-ranked monster that don’t think, but you have self-awareness. Are you Unique?

Satoru: What does “Unique” mean?

Veldora: It refers to a being with extraordinary abilities.

Satoru: I’m not really sure.

Me: Does “being reincarnated” counts as “Unique” since both of us used to be human?

Satoru: Reincarnated? So I really was reborn as a slime...

Veldora: Both of you came into this world in a very unusual way.

Satoru: Huh? Unusual?

Veldora: There are occasionally those who come here from other worlds, but both you are the first I’ve known of to be reincarnated here. Most would be unable to withstand having only their soul traverse worlds.

Satoru: So you’re saying there are people who came here from worlds, but not through reincarnation?

Veldora: Indeed. We call them Otherworlders. I’ve heard that they gain special abilities when they cross into this world.

Satoru: I see…

Me: That explains how we got our skills, also.

Satoru: There might even be other Japanese people here… I think we’d like to try & find some of these Otherworlders.

Veldora: What? You’re leaving already?

Me: From now, we’ll stay a little longer.

Veldora: Oh, good! Stay as long as you like!

Me: Now, you were sealed in here, right?

Veldora: I’m glad you asked that! It was 300 years ago… I sort of turned a town into ashes by mistake.

Satoru: “Sort of”?

Me: How do you burn a town by mistake?

Veldora: So someone came looking to slay me. It’s certainly true that I underestimated my opponent a bit. I started putting my full strength into the battle partway through… But I still lost!

Satoru: But you seem really strong.

Me: “Appearances can be deceiving,” Satoru. His opponent is stronger than him.

Veldora: Very powerful. It was someone known to the humans as a hero blessed with divine protection.

Satoru: A human hero? Sounds like something out of a video game.

Me: That’s sounds more common in video games.

Veldora: She overpowered me with her unique skill, Absolute Severance, & then she sealed me using Unlimited Imprisonment.

Satoru: Is that shiny stuff her Unlimited Imprisonment?

Veldora: Yes. The hero called herself a “Summon.”

Satoru: A Summon?

Me: Does this mean that the hero was summon using mages?

Veldora: Yes. It takes more than 30 makes to perform a ritual that lasts several days to bring one here from another world.

Me: That’s weak!

Satoru: Oh! So there are mages here! This sounds more & more like a game!

Veldora: They’re also expected to serve as powerful weapons.

Me: Weapons?

Veldora: Yes, for the Summoner. Magic is used to carve a curse into the Summon’s soul to ensure that the Summon can’t defy Summoner.

Satoru  What the heck?! That’s just cruel!

Me: Indeed!

Veldora: Cruel, eh? I don’t know what your world was like, but survival of the fittest is the prevailing truth in this world.

Satoru: I see…

Me: So you've been here for 300 years, then?

Veldora: That’s right. I’m so very bored…

Satoru: I felt pretty damn lonely just because I never had a girlfriend in 37 years… I can’t imaging being all alone for 300 years. Can you, Khiry?

Me: Nope.

Satoru: Okay! Why don’t all three of us be friends?

Veldora: What?! A mere slime & an 8 inch warrior proposes friendship with me, the feared Storm Dragon?!

Me: So, you don’t want to?

Veldora: F-Fool! No one said I didn’t want to!

Me: So, you do want to?

Veldora: Yes, well… if both of you insist… I guess I’m willing to think about it.

Me: I knew this dragon was a Tsundere.

Satoru: Yes, we insist! Right, Khiry.

Me: Yep.

Satoru: So that settles it! If you refuse, we’re through. We’ll never come here again!

Veldora: W-Well, all right. I’ll be your friend. You both would better be grateful!

Satoru: Just can’t be honest, can you? Well, glad to know ya!

Satoru & I hold out our hand as Veldora then extend both of his arm & shook our hands.

Veldora: I-Indeed.

As our hand touch, there is a glow on coming from them.

Me: & That is the story of how I got shot, died, reincarnated as Kirby, & became friends with Satoru the Slime & the Storm Dragon Veldora. It is going to be hard to move on from my old life. I hope Tsutsuji  Kuroki, & Yuri can stay happy without me.

Daytime. At the cemetery lies three people praying at a grave that said, “Here lies Khiry H J Cleveland Born: August 24, 1994 Died: March 25, 2024” The three people are Kuroki, Yuri, & Tsutsuji, who is wearing her wedding ring.

Tsutsuji: Thank you, Khiry.
