Chapter 2

Ailina's POV

Yesterday was an interesting day, but today is Saturday and now I can take my daily walks in the forest behind my house. I was at the treeline when I started to get these weird feelings like maybe I shouldn't take a walk today, but I dismissed it and went on my way.

"The forestry is so beautiful," I thought, "I wish I could stay here forever."

Little did I know, I was being watched. By something, I thought didn't even exist.

I got to my favorite part of the forest, a big opening that had a big weeping willow right in the middle. I have been walking to this spot since I could remember. I went and sat right down at its base and relaxed. I closed my eyes and just listened to the animals surrounding me. It was beautiful, it always was beautiful.

I felt something cold and wet touch my leg. I looked down and saw it was the wolf I saved a few years back. I named him Lunar.

"Hey, Lunar," I said with a smile, "how have you been buddy?"

"Pff," he huffed out.

"I guess that means you've been alright," I replied as he laid down beside me, "I've been having a rough week. My classes are getting tougher and wanting more work done. At least I've been able to do them all without my little brother Dylan interrupting me. I still love him though."

I sighed and started petting his back, which he relaxed into. He has always been able to calm me down, no matter what I was dealing with. If I was angry, sad, or depressed. He is always there. It's also kind of funny. He would somehow know I was upset and ALWAYS find me.

There was this one time where I was sitting down outside the cafeteria with my friends when a bully of mine showed up. She, I kind of forgot her name, started harassing me and my friends and I was getting really frustrated with her. So much to the point, I was about to get up and punch her in the face. When I stood up, I heard a growl come from behind her. She whipped around so fast I thought she was gonna fall until I heard her shriek in fear. She ran for the doors to go inside and I finally saw what she was screaming at. It was Lunar. I was standing there dumbfounded as my friends were shaking in fear. They were telling me to back away and come to them. I turned around and told them that this was the wolf that I found injured a couple of weeks ago. Lunar walked up to me and rubbed his head on my leg in affection. I told them ever since I saved him, he wouldn't leave me alone. They understood but were still a bit weary. Eventually they got used to him popping up out of nowhere.

All of a sudden, Lunar bolted up to his feet and started growling at the woods. I faced to where he was looking and almost fainted. There stood a tall and skinny figure. It was dressed in a black tux with a red tie. It's skin was as white as snow. What really scared me and got to freak out on the inside was... he had no face. It was Slenderman. He was standing just a few feet away from me.

"There is no reason to be afraid child," he spoke in my head, "I am not here to harm you. I've been watching over you for a while now."

"Lunar," I spoke, "down. He means no harm... I think. Anyway, why have you been watching me?"

"I can not tell you yet little one," he said, "Just know that you are protected under me and my pastas."

"Okay," I said confused, "is there anything else you need?"

"Not as of right now," he replied, "Good bye child."

Then he just disappeared.
