RG4: This Strange Mansion

Y/N's p. o. v.

My eyes flash open as my mind is suddenly flooded with the scene of bright red, yellow, and orange flames overtaking my consciousness. To top off the traumatizing circumstance, the cruel rendition of my own parents and (B/N) burning to their death started to play out before me.

I sit up in a panic and open my eyes, unintentionally letting out a choked sound. I find myself spooked yet again when I realize that I'm being carried in someone's arms through the deep dark woods in the middle of the pitch black night apparently, and I look up in a panic seeing none other than The SplendorMan.

"Sp-Splendor!?"

"Oh good. You've awoken⁎⁺˳✧༚!" Splendor's hallow gaze looked down at me and his constant smile grew wider on his face. He instantly stopped walking and gently lowered me onto the ground, then knelt before me and held my shoulders, "I was afraid you would remain passed out during the whole trip, and I was ready to carry you to my room till you were better. However now that you're awake, I might—"

"Your room," I interrupt, my voice still brittle from shock of the incident that just transpired at my home. "What do you—Splendor I—Spendor my...my family is gone, Splendor?! You saw what happened, didn't you?"

His smile quickly fades and I am greeted with a rare upset, pained expression on his peach pale face. "I did see, my child. What an awful thing, truly. No one should ever have to suffer something so terribly tragic." He shook his head and continued, "I'm so sorry for your loss... However, I was relieved to find that you were still present and breathing in the midst of the wreckage. It's only a miracle that you kept that dandelion I gave you on you⁎⁺˳✧༚!"

"That dan—"
I cut off as I subconsciously reach for my pocket and I pull out the same golden flower that SplendorMan had given to me earlier in the night. There was nothing wrong with it—it wasn't burnt, it wasn't destroyed; just like me, the fire had completely overlooked it and left it alone. Now I get why Splendor gave this to me...it was basically a protection charm of sorts. A magical one.

"You...thanks to you I'm alive..." I utter, my voice giving off an uneven mix of astoundingly grateful and "why the fuck didn't the world just let me die". I began to twirl the flower around in my fingers with a clouded gaze, my brain working overtime trying to asses my feels at the moment. Splendor slightly smiled again and crooked his head a bit, "Indeed my (Y/N), and now I will take it into my own hands that I find you a safe, comfortable new space to live. (Y/N), I am finally taking you home to the mansion I live in."

I now walked in silence behind SplendorMan as he was leading the way toward the place he'd always told me stories of in my childhood. Was I excited? Wasn't this what I'd always wanted when I was younger? Sure, but my whole family just burned to death so it was hard for me to feel enthusiastic.

Splendor seemed to appear nervous as we walked, mostly because I wasn't saying anything and also by the fact that I didn't react when he told me the news that he would be bringing me to stay with him.

The tall creature began to noticeably shuffle with his hands as the trees around us began to appear darker as we continued on. The now common appearance of markings on the trunks of the trees looked as if they were struck by the blunt ends of what I assumed were weapons. This slightly began to catch my attention, but I remained nonchalant.

"The 'things' you live with," I eventually utter out in an unreadable tone, "you said they were dangerous, didn't you? Am I gonna get jumped as soon as I walk in?"

"Of course not ⁎⁺˳✧༚! You know very well that I would protect you from anything that may try to harm you. I will explain to the inhabitants who you are and what had happened to you."

"And you really think they'll care?"

"...Don't be afraid (Y/n)...well alright, maybe you could be a little afraid, I wouldn't blame you. I mean some of them look utterly terrifying—!"

"Not. Helping. SplendorMan."

"........Sorry, (Y/n)⁎⁺˳✧༚."

The quietness between me and SplendorMan picks up again as we continued to trek towards the fabled mansion. It was fine by me, but at the same time I felt I kinda needed someone to talk to. I was starting to grow into a nervous wreck the closer we got to our destination.

We eventually come up to the doors of a huge, old, dark looking mansion, and I get a slight chill when I look up at trees that encircled it; their crooked branches looked menacing as they shook in the dark.

"Finally! Home sweet home⁎⁺˳✧༚! Let's us go inside, for it is time for you to meet everyone!"
SplendorMan briskly pushed open the great doors and walked in; I myself followed him more slowly. Compared to the outside, the mansion had a fine interior and I almost immediately relaxed a bit from how almost cozy it looked.

That is, until I saw a big reddish and black furred husky come running towards me and Splendo.

The husky had a creepy, unusually wide smile with humane teeth, and it barked when it saw me wander in behind Splendor.

"Oh fuck. Oh shit—" I start panicking, immediately retracing my steps back out of the mansion as the hellish dog got closer. I wasn't looking to find out what a bite from that thing resulted in.

"Woah there Smiley⁎⁺˳✧༚! Calm down boy, it is alright. (Y/N) is welcome here!" SplendorMan calmly interacted with the dog, bending down to it and gently petting it on its head. The dog sat down upon Splendor's touch and panted as it seemed to enjoy the gesture.

I noticed one of Splendor's tendrils had suddenly wrapped around my arm, and he forcefully pulled me back into the mansion, causing the doors to shut behind me.

"Do not be afraid, my (Y/N). He won't harm you," Splendor assured me, looking back to glance at me with a smile. He then turned back to the dog and cooed, "Good Smiley, you're such a good Smiley⁎⁺˳✧༚! I have a new friend for you to meet named (Y/N). Be nice, understood?"

SplendorMan raised a finger to point at me and the dog's gaze turned on me. It lowered its head and slowly padded towards me, it's huge tail wagging from left to right.

'It's gonna bite my fuckin' arm off, isn't it,' I thought glumly as it came closer. When the dog came up to my feet, it looked up at me and tilted its head.

"Well uh...hey there doggo...?" I murmur, slowly bending to my knees and trying my best to appear calm, "nice to meet you....Smiley? That your name?"

The dog barked in response and it's tail wagged faster. It seemed excited. I couldn't help but smile at this and I carefully reach out my hand to pet it. It barked again and came closer, letting me run my hand over its soft, fluffy fur.

"You're just like any other doggo, aren't you? You're not that bad," I say, now brining my face to it's strange face and nuzzling it. I don't care if I've just met it; it's a friendly dog so that makes it an instant friend. "How wonderful⁎⁺˳✧༚! My two good friends bonding only upon meeting each other, just splendid!" SplendorMan exclaimed, clapping his hands together as he looked down at me embracing Smiley.

Smiley The Dog stayed with me, letting me pet and hug on him for a bit until suddenly his tail stopped wagging and he raised his head, looking towards the grande set of stairs just beyond the living room of the mansion. He then barked and ran over to the steps, and that's when I saw.....one of them.

"Smile! Down boy!" The new individual scowled as the dog almost excitedly pummeled into him. This freak...he had bleached white skin and no eyelids. His face was...

Was...

...Huh, wait a sec. I know this guy. I swore I've seen him in newspapers, on the nightly news, on the internet. It's...it's uh....

"Jeff The Killer or something?" I accidentally mutter aloud, as I was just trying to remember who this notorious guy even was. This made the man look up in me and Splendor's direction, and I felt his wide gaze burning into me.

".....Yeah.....who the hell are you again?" He scoffed gruffly, tilting his head. He then crooked his neck back into its normal position and descended down the rest of the stairs, "Oh-ho wait, you're a lil' prey, aren't ya? Splendor, you got this outsider for me to kill, didn't you? Splendor you damn rascal, how thoughtful~!"

A wide smirk suddenly appeared on his face, making his infamous cut smile become even more creepier than it already was. Swear I'd just shoot myself if I'd ever have to see that again.

"No no no no no no NO Jeffrey. This is a friend, not a prey. Please don't do anything rash now," SplendorMan scolded, his voice sounding more firm as he began to approach Jeff.

"Friends gotta have some fun too, right~?" Jeff cackled, and before me or Splendor could say anything else, he started speed walking towards me, whipping out a bloody knife into his grasp.

"Are you deaf?? I'm not prey you moron..." I snapped, starting to match his speed and back away. "Hey now, this is how I greet people—you'll get used to it," He said, waving the knife tauntingly towards my face.

"You know damn well that's not a way to greet people—hey wait—SPLENDOR HELP!" I yelled as Jeff abruptly broke into a chase and dashed straight towards me. "Please I beg you both, stop fighting! This isn't a way to greet people, JEFF!" SplendorMan shouted.

I ran to Splendor and practically jumped on him, quickly climbing and pulling myself up to his shoulders. Jeff rammed straight into Splendor and accidentally lunged his knife into his leg.

"YEOWWE YOU LITTLE RAI mean....! Ouch Jeff...please don't run while holding dangerous weapons..." SplendorMan nervously laughed and yanked the knife from out his leg, tossing it back at Jeff.

"Splendor move, wouldya? I didn't get to 'greet' our new 'friend'" Jeff hissed, catching his knife and walking around to the back of Splendor, trying to stab me from behind. I was a bit high up on Splendor, so he couldn't really reach me.

"Ok ok how about this—I like knives too!—Please don't hurt me man," I try to be nice-ish, turning to glare down at him. " 'i lIkE kNivEs tOo' yeah shut the fuck up you pick-me outsider bitch. You don't belong here!" Jeff retorted, raising his knife higher over his head to jab at me again.

"—HAHAH⁎⁺˳✧༚! THAT'S IT." SplendorMan suddenly roared loudly, startling me. He reached Jeff with one of his tendrils and actually flung him across the room. In complete silence, I watched Jeff as he flew away.

I then smirk and yelled after him, "I bElIeVe I cAn fLYyYyYyY!"

SplendorMan huffed and grabbed me with his tendrils, gently placing me back on the ground. "So rude⁎⁺˳✧༚" He scoffed, "Jeffrey is a er...meanie-pasta, if you may. But most of the others are more welcoming, I assure you! I won't let them hurt you, do you trust me (Y/n)-y?"

"......"

"I'll...take that as an okay⁎⁺˳✧༚! Ohhhh, and you know what? I have an idea! Let me take you to meet my brother, The SlenderMan! Wouldn't you like to meet him?"

"...Nah."

"Great! We'll go see him next—right now actually. And thennnnnn....you could meet my other brother too, TrenderMan!"

"Is that the fashion one...?"

"Yes, my child."

"...Fine, I'll meet them."

SplendorMan gleefully claps his hands together, then reached and takes my hand despite my hesitation. He leads me out of the living room towards a hall that was just past the grande staircase. I heard barking from behind us and turned to see Smile Dog now following us. I grin at him as he pads beside me and Splendor towards The SlenderMan's area.

We pass by Jeff The Killer, who was still crumpled on the floor in a painful looking position, caught up beneath a fallen steel stand. He looked hurt—he still hadn't gotten up from when SplendorMan had thrown him. However, he shot me a dark glare and flashed his middle finger at me and Splendor. We ignored him and continued on, although I quickly took the chance to spin around and flip him the fuck off in return.

Splendor and I finally came to a tall, black door that had a huge white scribbly circle with an 'X' crossed over it. Kinda looks like it was scribbled by a six year old, but whatever. I already figured it's the Creepypasta symbol or "Operator's Symbol" from the internet, but I'm not gonna be a douche about it.

"This is my brother SlenderMan's office," SplendorMan explained, raising his hand to knock on the door. "I'd advise you to be on your best behavior and keep good manners. He can be quite cruel when he is unpleased⁎⁺˳✧༚! Now, that's enough talk from me, it's time you see the man for yourself."

I heave a sigh before nodding and watch with growing nerves as SplendorMan knocked the door.
