RG1: The HappyPasta That Visits Me

It's a Friday afternoon.

I'm laying in bed since I just got home from school and I was tired from having a long day. I had almost gotten sent home early after an incident with one of my teachers; I was barely able to keep my emotions in and half way fell apart on them before pulling myself back together.

I sighed, covering my face. I hate how I feel, and I hate that no one understands and can't understand. I don't want to feel this way, but it's like certain things send my brain into a rage mode and I can't control it, no matter how much I want to. Either that or it's a breakdown with me feeling sad. Just thinking about it makes me feel like crying maybe, but the thing is I can't cry. I, for some reason, can't feel that branch of emotion. Nothing triggers it.

As I'm thinking about me almost exploding in school today, and my brain tries to calculate how to feel, I suddenly hear the faint sound of bells in the air.

Familiar, soothing bells.

Suddenly, it's like the storm attacking my brain disappears, and I'm filled with a happier, childlike feeling. I only ever feel this way when he appears.

I quickly sit up in bed and see a very tall being wearing a suit of colorful polka dots, fancy top hat, tendrils trailing from its back with bells at the ends and a very cartoonish looking face is standing before my bed, cane in hand. He looked me directly in the eye with an outrageously goofed smile and I couldn't help but immediately smile. I never smile unless he's around.

"Ohhh...How adorable˳✧༚!!!" The being screeched while gently tapping its cane against its cheek. "So adorable how my little (Y/N) greets me with a smile!"

Here's an explanation on this thingy that suddenly appeared in my room. He's an entity called a Happypasta that goes by the name of The SplendorMan (I just call him Splendor or Splendy). He's unrealistic by all earthly and scientific terms but somehow he just exists and I managed to befriend him.

I was around 6 or 7 years old when I first encountered him; I had gotten lost carelessly playing in the woods by myself and beyond all odds, this magical walking beanstalk appeared to me and helped me back home. I was so awestruck by him, being that I was a little kid at the time and I made this poor soul promise to be my friend forever and believe it or not Splendor stuck around with me for all these years.

He started appearing to me after my 8th birthday, and from then on he visited me almost everyday at most or whenever my parents and older brother weren't around for him to be seen. He already can't be seen by my family but it would be weird if they caught me talking to nothing in their field of vision, so Splendor kept that in mind.

I had a fun childhood, having a real life fun-loving colorful and cartoonish magical entity hanging around me, playing games, building forts, helping me with homework, creating magical stuffs for me.

It's been years of him sticking around, but while Splendor is an eternally child-like and optimistic being, I on the other hand have grown unfortunately and am now a high schooler that just can't be bothered at most times.

It's just another day of him coming to visit me and as usual he always expect us to do the same things we did when I was a child.

"How shall we start the evening? Oh, I know! Hide and seek!!!" The SplendorMan suggested before I could get a word in, suddenly vanishing from where he had first appeared in my room.

I then heard his voice echo in my head, "Try and find me, tee-hee˳✧༚!"

It didn't take much effort for me to roll off my bed and head to my closet and swing open the door. SplendorMan was there, giggling to himself like a child and squeezed tightly along with all my stuff.

"Oh my, it looks like you found me! ._. You've always been such an expert at this game, (Y/N)-y˳✧༚!" He exclaimed brightly. (Y/N)-y had always been his nickname for me.

"The only reason I'm an expert at this game is because you always hide in the same two places; my closet or under my bed," I respond, pulling the creature by his long arm out of my closet.

"I see," Splendor says, scratching his head with an awkward grin, "maybe it's time I hide in a new spot! What do you say another round of Hide N' Seek!? I promise I'll hide in a place that's harder to find˳✧༚"

"Splendor," I interrupted him, "how about we do something that's more fun. What about... you wanna watch some TV or something?"

Splendor tilted his head, "Watch TV? On this beautiful fun-awaiting weekend??"

"Yeah, why not."

"But (Y/N)-y! Just think of all the absolutely fun things we could possibly do besides staying inside and watching—"

"You don't get it," I interrupt him again, "I don't really feel like doing any of those childish games you have in mind, Splendo."

I immediately cursed myself inside for saying that, it was unnecessarily cruel.

SplendorMan seemed to be quiet after I said that and me feeling very awkward at the moment just slowly sat on my bed, blankly facing the TV screen. I feel bad, knowing I probably hurt his feelings; SplendorMan loved to talk nonstop and we always did everything together.

Now that I've grown from being the little 8 year old he first started appearing to, it's been getting harder and harder for us to do things together because he always acts like he's 7 himself and I'm just not into somethings like I used to be anymore. Every now and then yes, but not as much as the past.

Nowadays I just went to school, played video games, drew stuff, and listened to music. I didn't appreciate the actual Happypasta in my room that practically lived with me.

Me and SplendorMan surprisingly spent hours watching TV till it got late, but uncomfortably the whole time was spent in silence. Maybe he was mad at me? SplendorMan had never been mad in all my time I've known him.

Eventually SplendorMan straightened his suit and turned to me with his same happy face, "It's getting quite late (Y/N)-y˳✧༚! I think I'll be heading off now. Besides, your family may be home soon!"

"Aw man. Well, I know we didn't do much today but maybe we can do something fun tomorrow if you want," I say, hoping that might make him happier. "That would be splendid˳✧༚! When I reach home, I shall write down all the wonderful ideas of what we could do together!!!"

As SplendorMan gets ready to leave, I quickly jump up and grab his arm. "Do you think maybe this time I can finally come with you? You know, to see where you come from and all?"

SplendorMan looks down at me and squeaks, "(Y/N)-y, don't you remember when I told you it's too dangerous for you to know where I come from˳✧༚? You're safer here and not knowing the truth..."

Apparently SplendorMan comes from a very dangerous place that normal humans should not be allowed to know of, but over the years my curiosity of where SplendorMan disappears to every night has grown.

He told me once he'd one day give me a glimpse of the place because I used to beg so much as a little kid, but I'm pretty sure he only said that to get me to stop asking.

"I get that it's probably dangerous but I'm older now. Can I just get a small glimpse of where you come from?" I ask, trying to give him a pleading look. SplendorMan looked at me for a long time and for a second I'm sure he almost gave into my face. But SplendorMan pulled himself together and shook his head, resting a hand on my shoulder.

"No (Y/n)-y! I know you're curious but this is for your safety! You're better off not knowing, trust me. I'd rather you continue your life here without ever knowing about those...."

SplendorMan's voice trailed off for a bit and for a second it looked like his face actually formed a small frown. "Those...?"

"N-Nevermind it. I promise you, it isn't even as interesting as you may think! Trust me..."

I glare at him for a bit then shrug, deciding to leave it alone and just listen to what Splendy said. "I trust you Splendy."

I then hug the entity, causing him to squeal ear-piercingly loud and hug me back even tighter. In that moment I realized I should be more grateful that I got to know SplendorMan. It's not everyday you get to meet and be best friends with a magical Happypasta from another dimension. I was lucky.

I hug Splendor tighter enjoying the warm slightly not wanting to ever let go but then I realized that if I didn't pull away SplendorMan might seriously never let me go. I decided to continue hugging to see how long SplendorMan would keep me in his arms but after about 10 minutes of us just hugging each other I got bored and figured he really would never let go so I backed away slowly.

"Later Splendor," I say, smiling up at him. "I shall take my leave! Oh, and I almost forgot, don't forget this˳✧༚!"

From thin air he pulls out a golden colored flower and sticks it in my hand. "This is for you my dear child˳✧༚!"

"...Why?"

"Because it's a very special flower for my very special friend! Make sure you hold onto it—it's very special indeed!"

I shrugged and tucked the flower in my shirt. "Thanks Splendo. I promise I'll hold onto it."

SplendorMan pats my head gently before exclaims, "Your lovely parents are here, so it looks like it's time for me to go˳✧༚! Farewell!"

SplendorMan's form suddenly vanished and was replaced with a bunch of sparkles and glitter that fell to my floor in a huge mound, making a huge mess. I really hate it when he leaves that shit.

At that very moment, the door to my room opens and there were my parents and my older brother, greeted with me standing over a huge pile of glitter.

They all stared at me in utter confusion and I stared back. "....What's up?"

"(L/N), what are you doing..." My Dad asked, his eyes trained on the glitter mound. "School project," I responded, mindlessly kicking some of the glitter over which was stupid because then it spread across more of my carpet.

"Make sure before you go to bed you clean it up! Although I'm curious where you got glitter from..." My Mom said with a small smile. "I brought it home from school," I sighed.

(B/N) smirks and runs at the pile, kicking it more and completely knocking the whole mound over, leaving an impossible mess on my floor now.

My mother hissed his name with slight fear etched in her voice and then all three of them looked at me closely to see my reaction, expecting me to burst into a rage. I simply took a long, deep breath and...

Without a word I immediately throw a fist at (B/N), missing and then I chase after him, yelling at him as he ran out of my room laughing hysterically.

Our parents watch us while shaking their heads in disappointment.

"I don't think anyone will be able to tame our (Y/N)'s unsettled soul."

I'm done cleaning up most of the glitter mess on my carpet, but there's still some to go. I'm too tired to bother though so I decide to leave the rest for the morning. I'm definitely going to snap at Splendor for this though...

I'm about ready to hop into bed and I had changed into my night clothes when I notice the golden flower Splendor gave me before he left. I stare at it as is was crumbled with my clothes from earlier, then shrug and grab it, deciding to keep it close to me.

I don't know why but I felt compelled to keep this thing with me at all times. It's just a flower but Splendor said it was special so why not?

Once I got the flower, I climbed in bed and tried to go to sleep, thinking about what things me and SplendorMan would do tomorrow.

None of the ideas I had in mind were anywhere close to what actually happened. This very night is when my normal, peaceful life suddenly got turned upside down.

I find this story mostly cringe and wanna make updates, but if you read specifically for nostalgia of the old, I don't mind making changes. Please let me know.

P.S: Not all chapters will be fully rewritten/reworked. Most will just be heavily edited.
