Chapter 3: Mother

Guess who's baaaaack! Miss me? (Everything is a BBC Sherlock reference if you've watched it 😂)

I've had a lot of positive feedback on this story, it's so sweet of you guys! I can't thank you enough!

I wrote this all in one go and I actually wrote this pretty quickly, I have a little writing and drawing Spotify playlist and I didn't go through that many songs while I wrote this, I guess once I start writing, I just keep going 😄

I hope you enjoy this!

"Hey, (Y/n), aren't you coming out to play?"

"Nah, sorry guys, my mother's not letting me go out until I help her with the laundry, she's so boring!"

"Boooo! That sucks!"

"Tell me about it!"

"Oh well, we'll catch you later!"

The young girl closed the window at the front of her house and crossed her arms, pouting.

"You're so mean! I want to go out!" Her mother sighed from behind her and smiled.

"Dear, I like that you get fresh air and you're not cooped up in here all day like some children, but sometimes there's things you have to do at home too." (Y/n) turned towards her mother and stomped her feet.

"But laundry's so boring! Why can't you do it?"

"Because doing laundry is what I always do and most likely what you'll have to be capable of doing your own laundry one day. I won't always be here to sort all your completely dirty clothes from the ones that are just about wearable, you'll be an adult one day." The pout remained intact.

"One day, not now though." Her mother chuckled, walking over to her child and bending over slightly to meet the girl's eye level.

"Hey. hey, drop the attitude little missy. If I have to fold all your clothes for you, then I'm sure I can tell you what to do. Come on now, I'll make some bread after you finish your laundry and I know no one else can eat my bread without a taste test from you, right?" (Y/n)'s eyes lit up. Her mother was a baker and one of the best in Wall Maria, such a treat could always be used as a bribe.

Her work ethic immediately changed and she dashed over to the pile of recently washed clothes, taking as much as she could in her arms and running up the stairs.

"Don't trip sweetie!"

By the end of the laundry sorting and baking, a couple hours had passed and the sun was nearing setting, the sky conflicted with shades of blue and strokes of purple.

"Aw, you're out later than we thought you'd be (Y/n)!"

"It's not my fault! My mother made bread!"

"Nice! She's pretty cool, y'know, for your mother that is, her bread's delicious!"

"You think I don't know that bonehead?"

(Y/n) had met up with her friends in the centre of town and for once, the area around them seemed almost peaceful.

One of (Y/n)'s friends sat on the edge of a low wall and glanced up at the sky.

"This is a pretty good spot, plus the sun's almost setting, we can watch the sky change colour until it's dark." Another friend sat beside them.

"No way! My parents won't let me stay out when it's dark, I have time to stay here for a while though." (Y/n) sniggered and also sat down.

"What are you, a chicken?"

"Chicken? What! I am not a chicken (Y/n)!" She took a long, quizzical look at her friend and shook her head.

"Nope! All I see is a c-h-I-c-k-e-n!" Her two friends who were not sitting laughed at that and finally sat down, all five of them just sitting there, at peace with the world.

At that very moment, the ground decided to quake and throw all of them to the ground below them.

The wall they were sitting on was exceptionally low, it was outside the house belonging to the family of one of (Y/n)'s friends, acting as a kind of fence. None of them were injured, but the horrifically loud crashing sound that rang out through the district was enough to shake up anyone.

None of them spoke, but smoke could be seen in the distance and with glances to one another with much hesitance, they all ran as fast as they could towards the source of the smoke.

Many people were stood in sheer horror, staring up at a side of Wall Maria as a colossal hand gripped the top of it. No one knew what to do, how could they? And how could things change so fast? Everything was peaceful, quiet, dull and boring, as much as anyone wanted adventure, they could never imagine being thrust into a situation as dire as this very one.

It seemed as if the situation couldn't have a good outcome as the owner of the hand's head rose up over the top of the wall. The whisper of the word "Titan" could be heard from many shocked civilians.

The hand began to grip harder until (Y/n)'s world collapsed into complete chaos.

She let out her intake of breath and frowned.

"No offence commander, but it's none of your business."

----- ----- ----- ----- -----

Cliffhanger? Meh, not really! I got a lot of people commenting "AAAAHH, CLIFFHANGER." last chapter, haha.

And no, in the last two lines of this chapter, younger (Y/n) isn't suddenly talking to Erwin, it's a time skip to the present in the story, but unlike in my other stories, I don't feel like writing "TIMESKIP, LOLOLOL, I RUINED THE MOMENT, HAHA." 😂

I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Vote if you liked it, share it with your friends and comment, most of your comments light up my day and today was a Tuesday, most of the time, Tuesdays suck for me (Well, I have a creative writing club after school which is cool, but everything else sucks!) So your positivity not only helps my writing, it helps me in general!

#BrightenUpMyTuesday                                        Please 😄

Let me know if you've watched Kiznaiver, I finished watching it and I LOVE IT!

Also, I drew this, because today, the 14th of March, is the birthday of Chihiro Fujisaki and Chiaki Nanami from Danganronpa, happy birthday small beans! I love you two!

Hope you're all doing well ❤

Love,
