"Oh.... Hey" Was all that (y/n) could say.

"Tch, are you that ignorant that you don't know the meaning of a lockdown?" The short corporal sneered.

"Ooh, burn." Hanji snorted. "But yeah, I'm pretty sure all cadets knew about the lockdown, why aren't you in your dorm room?"

"And why was your door unlocked?" The out of breath cadet retorted. Hanji stared back at her and grinned.

"You're certainly a smart one! Can we keep her Erwin?" Erwin ignored Hanji's comment, stood up straight and looked (Y/n) straight in the eyes.

Don't look at his eyebrows. They're there to intimidate you. Just ignore them!!

"I suppose just this once we can let you stay, but I don't want anything like this to happen in the future or there will be consequences. Understood?" She gulped and nodded, intimidated by the tall man's presence.

"Y-yes sir, I understand." Awkward silence shortly followed. Hanji decided to break it.

"So yeah! This isn't room doesn't belong to any of us, to be honest we couldn't be bothered to make our way back to our actual rooms. I think the corporal was unorgani-" She sang out, before being silenced by a death stare from Levi. The cadet smiled.

"That makes two of us then." Hanji scoffed.

"Make that four! Eyebrows here just tagged along with Levi last minute and I didn't want to be stuck in my room without these two comedians!"

Yeah, comedians. Sure.

"So, uh, how long is the lockdown going on for?" Her hands clasped behind her back, fidgeting.

"About an hour or two, depending on if security seems up to code." Erwin replied, returning to his leaning position on the wall next to Levi.

"Ah, we'll have to talk about a lot of stuff then! I think we're gonna be the best on friends after this!" Hanji laughed, turning her chair around to face the other three.

"I highly doubt that." Levi muttered with a sigh.

(Y/n) sat on the only bed in the room, timidity consuming her. She couldn't help it, three of her superiors were right in front of her, three people she hadn't spoken to personally before and she hadn't exactly made a good impression on them.

"You piss me off. You're messy."

"Huh?" (Y/n) was snapped out of her thoughts.

"So, are you usually this dependent in things accidentally going your way, or did you just get lucky this time?" Levi?

"What?" Levi scowled.

"I asked you a question, I expect an answer." She looked down at her feet.

"I know I wasn't organised today, but I'm not usually like this, I swear!"

"Oh and we're just supposed to take your word on that?"

"Well, u-um-"

"What if there's an attack or an expedition?" Levi growled.

"I-I can-"

"How the hell can I rely on you? At times like that, lives are at stake you know!" His voice rising.

"I know that! I want to save lives! I'm not defenceless! Not any more!" She yelled, quiet demeanour broken. The squad leaders seemed taken aback by her sudden outburst.

"Not any more?" She looked up at the blonde commander.

"W-what are you saying?" Her voice was lowered to a mutter.

"You said you aren't defenceless any more. When... were you defenceless in the first place?" She inhaled sharply. It just slipped out, she didn't mean to speak about her past...

Yeah, this really is a short chapter, but I left it like that in preparation for the next chapter! Expect a flashback xD
