"I feel like as a human we have too many expectations placed upon us. Like there are so many things that I do not understand in the slightest bit and that upsets me. I wish I could have more time to learn about those things and find out how they work, but it seems as though I will never be able to do that. Instead I am forced to have to find careers for the future and colleges and classes and it all just gets too stressful. So then all of these things I'm expected to do end up taking up all the time I wish I could do thinking and learning about those other things."

"What the hell are you fucking talking about."

Dan looked up at his friend from the front lawn. It was one am on a Friday night, and Hailey Smith decided to throw a party at her house since her parents were off on vacation. Dan Howell was invited to go to this party. If this were any other time he would have declined, Dan hated parties and everything that came with them. It was just that his maths teacher emailed his parents about how he had missing homework for three weeks now. This caused his parents to yell at him and scold him for his bad behavior. So when Dan got a text from his friend Jared asking if he wanted to go to Hailey's party at 10:30, he couldn't decline. Once Dan arrived he grabbed a bottle of vodka and kept downing it throughout the night. That led him to where he was now, laying on the front lawn, halfway to shitfaced, with Jared sitting right beside him. Dan took a deep breath and got up.

"I'm going to get another bottle, want anything?"

"How about a new shirt?" (A drunk girl vomited on Jared during the first hour they were there.)

"No, I'm too lazy," Dan said walking back into the Smith's house. He made his way through the sea of drunk and high teenagers stumbling into the kitchen. Going over to the drinks he grabbed a bottle of tequila and popped the top off then took a huge gulp.

Dan walked out of the kitchen into the den, where all the stoners were. He plopped down on the couch next to a girl with blonde hair and a bong. As Dan took another sip his mind got fuzzier and his body got restless. He got up and before he knew it was on the roof of the house once again lying down.

"Nice bottle of tequila you have there, mind if I take a sip?" An unfamiliar boy asked. Dan lifted his head and saw that the stranger had black hair and blue eyes. He also noticed that the boy smelled like weed.

Dan just handed the boy his bottle and watched him take a sip.

"What's your name?" Dan mumbled.

"Phil Lester. What's your name?"

"Dan Howell."

"Nice name. Aren't you a little young to be shitfaced?"

"Aren't you a little old to be at a teenager's party?"

"You got me there."

Phil sat down next to Dan and looked up at the sky. Dan took another sip of tequila before resting it beside him and gazing off into the sky as well.

"Do you ever wonder if someone is looking back at you when you stare at the sky? Like there could be another living being on a planet far away looking at the spot where we exactly are? And we're just staring at one another but not even knowing?" Dan rambled.

"Not really. I just think about what aliens would look like."
