Phils heart dropped. Lower then he thought conceivably possible. He was gone. Another son- another child he had raised for since he was merely a small child was erased from the surface of the world. He fell to his knees, feeling hot tears begin to engulf the gentle curves of his pale face, as he sobbed uncontrollably clutching his aching heart. He looked up from the cold floor, despite the freezing temperatures, it all felt numb. All he could feel was the pure grief and sadness that poured into his heart like poison laced honey. He saw the picture on the wall of the blonde child, Tommy. He thought about how he would never see that smile again, or how he would never look up to meet his old green eyes with his youthful and twinkling blue ones. He couldn't bare it.
Techno sat in his home. The sudden frantic ruffle of feathers filled his ears, as his bird flew in, bearing a small piece of partridge wrapped in a neat green bow. Sam... he gently untied the paper and placed a small seed out for the bird, which cawed thankfully before cocking its head and taking off back into the cold, snowy environment. He delicately unrolled the letter, his long elegant fingers lingering with every touch. Black ink was scrawled across the paper, as if written shakily and distressed, yet still holding a formal and neat cursive style, written in a plentiful rich black ink.

Technoblade,
I am afraid to inform you that Tommy has perished as of today inside the prison. I am so sorry this happened under my supervision. His life was taken by dream, who beat him to death in his prison cell. All my thoughts are with you, Philza, and Ranboo. I'm so sorry...
-Yours sincerely, sam.

He was still. He absorbed the information that he had just read. It didn't sit comfortably in his mind, but it bubbled into it harshly. He in hailed sharply as he stared blankly into space. He's gone. No. Why should he care? Tommy was a traitor and that is all. He shouldn't let his personal affiliations get in his way. Tommy was a traitor. Tommy was a traitor. He doesn't care. No matter his history.
A knock on the door startled him out of his thoughts. He stood up; still, in a strange way, his face and eyes remaining blank and unmoving. He opened the door loosely, to see the tall figure of Ranboo leering over the door. He looked sad and empty. He could tell he had already heard the news. "D- did you hear..." Ranboo stumbled, having head the news earlier as he had been in l'manberg when it had unfolded. "Yes." Techno stated blankly. The two remained standing for a while, the cold snow whipping Ranboos slender figure, while the shorter man glared blankly at his brother. "I don't care..." techno deadpanned in a flat voice. "W- what?" The hybrid asked, shocked. "He's a traitor. Why should I." He spoke in an even more expressionless tone than usual, clearly building mental fortresses to keep out any weakening feelings of attachment. "T- techno-" Ranboo stuttered, reaching out a long arm for technos shoulder. "I said I don't care." The pink haired man growled, causing Ranboo to recoil his hand, as his brother jerked away.
The enderman sighed- he knew that he did care, of course, but this wasn't good. Techno had a tendency of putting up barricades, as to not seem weak, and to avoid dealing with situations. He did the same when Wilbur died... "I-" Ranboo began, deciding to cut himself off there. He turned on his heels and trudged down the steps into the snow. He turned back, and noticed techno still standing there, blankly in his doorway, his long hair bellowing behind him. He needed to clear his mind. He wandered inside and grabbed his vast red cloak, before picking out his boots and buckling them onto his hooved feet. He walked outside, the cruel air lapping against his piglike features, the cold whipping him. Little did he know, Ranboo was watching through the window, and decided to follow him, intrigued as to what his hybrid brother could be doing.
Technoblade trudged through the thick layers of snow, hearing it crunch under his heavy boots. He wandered into the near by forest, the gentle flakes of snow dancing and pirouetting elegantly past his face. He soon came to a clearing after walking for an amount of time he had lost track of. "I- I don't care..." he repeated. "He was a traitor, h- he was a t- traitor." He assured himself. "I don't- I- I- I don't..." was all he could hoarsely speak, before his diction dissolved into tears. He choked as they carried on pouring out and singing the glimmering snow beneath him as he fell to the ground. He placed his face into his gnarled and battle scarred hands, allowing the hot salty tears to drip through every crevice.
He sobbed, harder than he had in a long time- until he stopped abruptly at the feeling of a hand on his shoulder. "Techno..." the familiar deep voice rang out from behind him. "L- leave me alone." He choked out, shrugging aggressively away from his grip on his shoulder, remaining kneeled on the floor, head in hands. "Please, techno talk to me. It's not healthy to be like this." The enderman harshly explained, as techno held in the urge to cry. This was one of the first times Ranboo had seen his brother cry. "I- I'm f- fin-" he couldn't even finish his sentence, as every word seemed a critical blow to his prior mentioned barricades, that seemed to be currently acting as a flood gate to tears, every word being a large crack into their foundations.
He was shocked, as he suddenly felt long arms wrap around him. "It's ok, technoblade." Ranboo ushered, as he rubbed his cloaked back gently. Techno stopped breathing in shock and froze up temporarily, until he sniffled, and swiftly reached out to Ranboo, clutching onto him for dear life. He couldn't stop it anymore. He sobbed into ranboos shoulder, as the two hugged each other in the snow. "D- don't tell anyone..." techno suddenly piped up, his voice sounding timid and sore. "Tell anyone what?" His brother quietly asked, wiping away the small creases of tears in his eyes. "T- that I got upset.." techno spoke, looking down. "Techno, it's ok to be upset-" he began, but decided it wasn't best to go down that route at the moment. "I won't tell anyone." He assured, causing techno to melt back into his embrace.
The pair had parted ways. Techno was thankful for his brother. He felt so much better. He looked out of his window longingly, and noticed the fire that normally poured out of Philzas chimney was not lit. He should go and visit him. He should have done it earlier, but he couldn't bring himself to it. He didn't want his father to see him upset. But he had to comfort him. He once again picked up his cloak, and dashed it onto his back. He strode out of the house and over to philza. He gently wrapped on the door, but to his surprise, it slowly creaked open. "Phil?" He quietly spoke out, in a soft tone. "Phil?" He once again echoed, as he entered the kitchen. And there he saw him. In the middle of the floor, sobbing. He had been like this for hours.
"Phil!" The pig gasped, dashing over to aid him. "T- techno..." he spoke out, in his softly accented voice. He pulled his son into an embrace, who froze for a second, before accepting it and tightly hugging him back. Philzas hands found their way to technos long pink hair, and began to gently caress it between his fingers. The pair sat in each others embrace for a while, until phil pulled back, still remaining in contact with his child. "D- Dave." He stumbled, in a suddenly emotionless voice, the use of his real name catching him off guard. "Am I a bad father..?" he asked, deadpan, tears seeping down his cheeks. "Of course not Phil." Techno quickly assured, hugging his father once again. "Your the best dad in the world..." he told, from behind his back as they hugged, tears now threatening to fall from his own eyes. "Y- you really think so?" He confirmed, as techno weakly nodded. "Thank you, techno. I couldn't ask for a better son then you." He cooed, as the two sat in each other arms. "Please don't let me loose you too..."
