The Girl who Fails at Flirting
Chapter 50 | The Girl whom Fails at Flirting

Stiles' POV
I lift my head up at the smell of the iconic pairing of bacon and eggs, starring coffee! I glance over at the kitchen and I see Adeline flipping pancakes, then swiftly placing it near the bacon. Her eyes meet mine and she grins with an added wink.
"So the messy haired pig does wake up."
"Are you calling me a pig?" I tease as I slowly get up the couch.
"Yup, and look, I'm cooking all your other pig friends." She sniffs the plate, "Yummy!"
She passes me the plate and I give her the middle finger as I sit near the kitchen island. She turns off the oven and joins the table, nearly spilling coffee on the counter. She grabs her phone from her back pocket and plays a song, "Gives You Hell" by The All-American Rejects.
"Wow, the song is very fitting." I respond, nearly finishing my plate.
"Damn, you finished that fast!? You literally are a pig! And yes, there's a reason why I played this song..." she winks and points her fork at me, as if she's waiting for me to respond. I blankly stare at her and she sighs with an exaggerated eye roll, " We're going to college in a less than 3 weeks!"
I stop eating. I completely forgot about college considering all the hectic events that's been going on lately. It feels like I just got out of school! Oh fuck, I didn't get my diploma! Does a community college need a high school diploma?
"We need to go to Beacon Hills High School." I say abruptly. I take my last bite and head towards the bathroom to get ready.
"We?" Adeline yells as I brush my teeth. I exit and demand that she comes with me, but the toothbrush in my mouth seems to make my communication with Adeline a little difficult. I head back inside and raise my mouth, and yell, "Yes! You're coming too!"
"I'll only come if I get to see your Pops! Oh, and your best friend Scott. And that other crazy friend of yours.... what was her name again?"
"Adeline?" I exit the restroom and I see Adeline washing the dishes. We're moving quite fast today.
"Ha-ha, very funny. Who knew a pig could crack jokes?"
I approach her with caution, and in an Australian accent, I say, "Now here we have a rare species in its natural habitat. Look at how hideous this female specimen."
She glares back at me as I freeze, "Oh no. It seems as those the specimen has spotted me. If you stay still, she won't see you."
Adeline gives off a smirk, and already I know I have to be prepared what whatever she has planned. She walks towards me with her arms behind her back, and I freeze at the exact position. Then she whispers in my ear in a horrible Australian accent as well.
"Ah yes, here we have a pig." She circles around me like a shark, "Let's see if he likes the water." Before I can respond, she takes the hose behind her back (which is supposed to attached to the sink) and shoots me with it. I slip as I fall from the metal rod that connects the hose to the sink, and I groan in pain.
"Huh, apparently pigs and water don't mix well." Adeline winks and turns sharply, but just as she could walk out, I reach for her hand and drag her down with me. I thought she would fall more gracefully like the ones in the movies, but she forehead fell on my jaw and both of us are in pain.
"Okay, truce?" She waves her hand like a white flag and I say, "No. The battle just begun."

I slam the car door and there I stand on a familiar pavement. Beacon Hills High School. I glare at Adeline and she's staring at this school like it's an interesting place.
"Why are you smiling?" I ask with slight annoyance.
"Because this is where little Stiles went." She starts walking and just as she enters the building, her eyes sees the Lacrosse players. "Oh, I want to go there." She runs frantically towards the field and I try to tackle her down she that she doesn't interrupt the practice. She sits at the bleachers and admires the team. She looks up at me and gives me a soft smile, "My school's sport teams sucked. Your team are giants compared to mine!"
I snicker and my eye moves to the new coach. I squint my eyes and there I see Scott McCall. Adeline notices and tries to search for what I'm looking at. Finally, she sees and says, "Oh, he's cute!"
"He's taken." I add.
"By you?" She jets out of her sit and run towards Scott. I run after her and quickly, I die from exhaustion. Damn, I'm very out of shape. Scott notices Adeline and I, and gives her a polite smile. He looks at me and pats my back as I try to get some air and recollect my energy. An oxygen tank would be great right about now!
"Stiles! It's been a while! How'd you been? I haven't seen you since that last time you got drunk! Yo, are you okay? What are you doing here?" Scott pounds all these questions and I debate whether or not I should faint.
"Hey, I'm Adeline!" She extends her hand and Scott introduces himself.
"Hi, I'm—" He reaches for her small hand.
"Taken. Stiles told me. She's a very lucky girl. What's her name?"
"Actually, I'm single now." Adeline smiles and suddenly I have all this energy.
"You and Kira broke up?!" I yell, and all the teammates has their attention on us. Scott gives them a short water break and give his complete attention to Adeline and me.
"Yes, we broke up. We ended in good terms though. She got accepted to NYU and we both decided it would be best to end it before anything bad happens."
"That doesn't make sense?" Adeline interjects with her arms crossed.
"The point is to end it on a happy note. Make sure it doesn't get clouded by bad experiences." Scotts exhales and continues, "But yeah, I'm the assistant coach of the Lacrosse Team. And while you've been gone and out of sight, I've been spending more time with Malia."
"Stiles's crazy ex-girlfriend?" Adeline's eyes widen.
Finally, I interrupt, "She was never my girlfriend. However, I really enjoyed her company. She was a great friend."
The three of us begin to update each other as practice ends and we enter the school. After some miracle, I receive my diploma
because of my great persuasion skills and the fact that I used the guilt card. It's fun to be around this adorable guy. I forgot how much I missed this place and how everything used to be before Lydia. I miss Scott. I miss Malia. I miss Dad. And yes, I still miss Lydia.
