Eira couldn't sleep. She was paralyzed. More like her heart was paralyzed. She thought about the kiss over and over, replaying it in her head. She had a permanent smile on her face but then she remembered that Stefan demanded Klaus stay away from her and she became angry.
When it was morning, Eira showered and got dressed. She went downstairs to find Stefan. She found Damon and Stefan in the living room.
"Your making me stay away from him? That's not your choice to make Stefan," Eira went right up to Stefan.
"I'm not making you do anything. I'm making Klaus stay away from you. Your welcome to go see him," Stefan started.
"But then I'd dump his family in the ocean and I'm sure you don't want Klaus to suffer," Stefan finished.
Eira pushed Stefan, harshly and he had to take a step back. Her glare was like a burning fury. Stefan was a little shocked she was so angry.
"What is your problem?" Eira questioned.
"What is my problem? You're going out and fraternizing with the enemy. That's my problem, Eira," Stefan explained.
"He's not the enemy, Stefan. He didn't have to be. You made him your enemy when you took his family from him," Eira argued.
"If I didn't know any better, with the way you're defending him, it's almost like your compelled," Stefan stated.
"Just stop running my life, Stefan," Eira said and walked away from him.
"Well, she's pissed," Damon commented.
Stefan looked at him,"You think?"
______________
It had been a couple days and Bonnie had been having weird dreams, visions when she slept. It had to do with the locked coffin. Bonnie would dream about Klaus biting her and then she'd wake up locked in a coffin and a women would wake her up. Bonnie brought Elena into the fold because of it.
"I've been having these dreams for days now. It's like the witches are trying to send me a message," Bonnie stated to Elena, standing in the witch house where the coffins were.
"I just can't believe that you guys kept this from me this whole time," Elena stated.
"Stefan thought, if you knew where the coffins were, Klaus could threaten people to get the information out of you," Bonnie explained.
"So, these are the rest of his family?" Elena gestured towards the coffins.
"Yeah. Elijah and two others. This one...is the one we can't open. We don't know who is in it, or what's in it, only that I think my dream's telling me it'll help us kill Klaus," Bonnie explained, standing in front of the locked coffin.
Stefan walked onto the scene,"What the hell are you doing?"
"I needed her to know about the coffin," Bonnie said.
"And she needed to be kept out of it, Bonnie," Stefan said.
"So what are you gonna do, Stefan? Are you gonna kidnap me, so that I won't tell anyone?" Elena questioned.
"Don't tempt me, Elena," Stefan answered.
"I think I know, who can open the coffin, Stefan. And I need Elena to help me find her," Bonnie revealed.
"Find who? What are you talking about?" Stefan asked.
"I couldn't place her face at first. Then I realized...," Bonnie showed Elena the photo.
"Oh my god, Bonnie," Elena stated in shock.
"Who is this?" Stefan asked as he looked at the photo.
"It's my mom," Bonnie answered.
"But there was another part of my dream," Bonnie revealed.
"What part?" Elena questioned.
"When my mom would open the coffin I was in, I would get out and there would be another coffin a few feet away," Bonnie started. "My mom would walk over to it and open it. Eira was inside, sleeping."
Stefan and Elena were both shocked and puzzled. Stefan asked,"What does that mean?"
"I don't know exactly. But Eira has to be involved with us somehow. We have to bring her into this," Bonnie explained.
"No, no," Stefan denied. "If she finds out where these coffins are, she'll tell Klaus."
"We don't have to show her the coffins," Bonnie said. "But she can help us find my mom."
_______________
Eira was dragged into it. She was helping Bonnie find her mom along with Elena. They didn't tell Eira why they needed to find Bonnie's mom. But Eira wasn't completely blind, she knew it had to do with Klaus in someway. So Eira broke the rules a bit and sent Klaus a text telling him to find Bonnie's mom.
They were at Elena's house going through papers of all the Abby Bennett's in the country. Eira was beyond bored and she didn't really feel like helping if what they were doing was going to hurt Klaus. But she decided she'd rather stay in the loop so she could warn him.
"Los Alamitos?" Elena questioned, passing a paper to Bonnie.
"Too old," Bonnie stated.
"Honolulu?" Elena questioned with another paper.
"I wish. How many of these are there?" Bonnie questioned.
"A lot. I asked the sheriff's office to pull up every single Abby Bennett in the country," Elena said and Eira groaned, quietly.
"I know we haven't been able to really...that things had been weird, because of Jeremy, so, thank you for helping me with this. I know you have a lot to deal with," Bonnie said to Elena.
"There's nothing more important, Bonnie," Elena smiled.
"It's surreal. Having to track down a woman, who bailed on her own kid," Bonnie stated and Eira felt bad for her.
"I'm sorry. I know how it feels to be without a mother," Eira tried to empathize and Bonnie smiled, sadly.
"I was bound to see my mother sooner or later," Bonnie said as Damon walked in.
"Sooner. Abby Bennett Wilson, Monroe, North Carolina. Born in Mystic Falls Hospital, graduated at Mystic Falls High...blah blah blah," Damon read from a file and handed it to Bonnie.
"A little compulsion helps sped up the research process," Damon smirked.
"This is her," Bonnie said looking at the paper in the file.
"Yep. Road trip. I call shotgun," Damon said.
"Yea-No," Elena shook her head.
"Want me to hang out in the back with you?" Damon questioned, suggestively.
"You're not coming, Damon," Elena stated.
"Why? I'm the one who found her," Damon whined.
"Okay, Damon. Look. Bonnie hasn't seen her mom in over fifteen years. We don't need your snarky commentary narrating the experience," Elena said with an attitude.
Elena and Damon held gazes with each other before Bonnie questioned,"What's going on with you two?"
"We kissed. Now it's weird. Have a great trip," Damon revealed and left.
Bonnie and Eira were shocked. Elena was at a loss for words. Eira was then reminded of her own kiss and she let out a small smile thinking about him.
______________
Eira was sitting in the backseat of Bonnie's car while Elena and Bonnie were in the front. They were talking but Eira was just looking out the window, thinking about Klaus. She longed to see him again. He was constantly on her mind.
Eventually, Bonnie parked the car next to a house. The house where Bonnie's mom lived. They all got out and went to the door. Elena rung the doorbell. No one answered and Elena went to knock.
"Hey there," someone called out walking up onto the porch, startling everyone.
"Hey, we're looking for, um, Abby Wilson," Elena said.
"She's not home. There anything I can do for you?" the boy asked.
"It's okay, we can come back," Bonnie started to leave but Elena grabbed her arm and pulled her back.
"I'm sorry, but you look so familiar," the boy stated.
"Abby is my mom," Bonnie revealed.
"Oh...I'm Jamie. You guys wanna come inside? Right this way," the boy said and they followed him inside.
Eira, Elena, and Bonnie sat down at a table in the kitchen. Jaime offered them something to drink and Bonnie asked for water. Jaime told them how he wasn't related to Abby, she just took him in and took care of him, giving the impression that Abby was very nice. A lady entered the house. It was Abby. Bonnie introduced herself as her daughter and Abby was taken by surprise.
They moved to another room and Abby came back in with food, it was her icebreaker. Abby explained how she was the one to cast the spell on Mikael that desiccated him. She lost her powers because of it and then she didn't come back to Mystic Falls. Bonnie was angry that she just left and Bonnie was going to leave but Abby stopped her.
"Bonnie, wait, please. Don't go. Talk to me...Please?" Abby pleaded with Bonnie.
"We'll wait outside," Elena said and Eira followed her, going outside.
Eira and Elena went outside and started walking to a barn-like building. Elena felt like she was being watched and she turned around, looking around her. Stefan showed up in a blink of an eye, scaring Eira a little. When Elena turned around seeing Stefan, she was startled.
"Hi, Elena. Nice lake house," Stefan greeted.
____________
They moved to the barn building and Stefan was angry at them, mostly Elena.
"So, what did you think, I wouldn't find out?" Stefan questioned Elena.
"Honestly, I didn't care," Elena shrugged her shoulders.
"This is exactly why I didn't want either of you in the loop," Stefan said.
"Yeah, because now you can't do whatever you want," Elena stated.
"Damn it!" Stefan shouted and kicked a chair.
"Hey!" Jaime shouted. "Everything all right out here?"
"Hey, Jamie, go back inside, okay? Please, trust me, it's better off for you there," Elena pleaded.
"I don't think so," Jaime walked toward Stefan.
"I'd listen to her. Get back upstairs, man," Stefan said.
"I said, I don't think so," Jaime repeated.
Stefan grabbed him by his throat, choking him and Elena was shocked as well as Eira. Eira was worried about Stefan at how violent he was being.
Stefan compelled,"Go back upstairs, before I tear your damn throat out. Do you understand me?"
Stefan pushed him back harshly and Jaime left, being compelled. Eira looked at Stefan,"Take a look at yourself, Stefan. I don't think you realize how bad you've gotten."
"It's the way it has to be, Eira," Stefan explained.
"No it doesn't. You don't have to be like this," Eira argued as Jaime came back with a shotgun.
"You're not supposed to be here," Jaime said, pointing the gun at Stefan.
"Jaime, what are you doing?" Elena questioned.
"What I was told. He's not supposed to be here," Jaime answered.
"He's compelled," Stefan realized.
Jaime pulled the trigger and Stefan was shot in the chest with the bullet. The bullet scattered into fragmented pieces, going into Stefan's chest. Eira and Elena gasped at what happened. Jaime then tied Elena up but left Eira alone.
Jaime pointed the gun at Stefan and looked at Eira,"If you help him, I have to shoot him again."
Eira nodded and Jaime lowered the gun. Abby called for Jaime to help with moving an unconscious Bonnie. Jaime looked at Eira before running off to help her.
Eira immediately went over to Elena and untied her hands,"I have a plan. You just need to pretend that you're still tied up."
Elena nodded deciding to go with it. When Jaime got back, Eira raised her hand and the wind blew harshly, knocking the gun out of his hand. Vines erupted out of the ground and they wrapped around his mouth and his nose, making him unable to breathe. Once he fell unconscious, the vines went away.
Eira knelt down next to Stefan. Eira looked at the bullet holes and she stuck her fingers into the bullet wounds and started digging the pieces out of Stefan. Stefan shouted in pain and Eira would grimace every time he did.
____________
Elena had went to the car and drove off to get Bonnie. Eira was going to ride home with Stefan. Eira was trying to get the last piece of the bullet out and Stefan kept screaming in pain. He wouldn't stop so Eira pulled her hands away.
"I'm just helping you!" Eira raised her voice.
"Just get it out, Eira, please. Just get it out," Stefan pleaded.
Eira tried again and with difficulty, she pulled the last piece of the bullet out. Stefan sighed in relief and Eira just tried wiping the blood from her hands.
Eira fumbled with her hands nervously and then she looked at Stefan,"I don't want things to be like this, Stefan. Between us. All we do is argue. I want to be able to tell you everything, to confide in you."
"You think that isn't what I want? I just want my twin back. For whatever reason, you let Klaus take you away. All you do is go to him," Stefan said.
Eira took a deep breath before admitting,"I kissed Klaus."
Stefan felt like he was shot in the chest all over again. He was shocked, almost hurt. But really he was just sad. He was afraid he would lose Eira because she was moving on and she was growing up. He didn't know how to accept that. Nor did he want Eira to choose Klaus as the one she decided to move on with her life with. Stefan didn't say a word. He got up off the ground and he walked off to his car.
Eira got up off the ground and followed him. Stefan was waiting in the car and she got in the passenger seat. He drove them home and he didn't say a word. Eira didn't expect this reaction from him. She didn't really know what to expect. Once they got home and got out of the car, Eira questioned him.
"Stef...will you say something. Please?" Eira pleaded.
"You're better than him, Eira. You can do so much better," Stefan stated.
"It isn't about whether I'm better. Just how I feel. I have feelings for him. Unexplainable feelings, but feelings," Eira explained.
"It's him now, isn't it?" Stefan questioned.
"What?" Eira questioned, confused.
"He's the one that you go to, that you'll turn to when you need someone. It's become him now, hasn't it?" Stefan questioned.
"Is that what you're afraid of, that you'll lose me because I spend time with him?" Eira questioned.
"But it isn't just time. You care about him more than you care about anybody. Maybe even more than you care about me," Stefan explained.
"And I am terrified that you won't need me anymore," Stefan had a tear fall down his cheek and his voice broke.
"It was always us because we were twins. I had never imagined that at some point I would have to live without you. You always let me make your choices for you and now you're acting out and doing things by yourself. We were always glued together, twins, and now that's ended. You're growing up to be person you need to be and I haven't quite dealt with that," Stefan had tears flowing down his face, finally letting in some of emotions. Eira being the only one he'd show emotion to.
Eira threw her arms around him in a hug as he cried,"You're not going to lose me, Stef. I'll always be your twin. I promise."
Stefan just hugged her back and listened to her words. They stayed there hugging each other as newly reconciled twins.
Author's Note: I'm fudging crying right now. Stefan and Eira's relationship is just like omg. I feel so bad for my poor Stefan. Eira is Stefan's sole purpose and she can't be that anymore and it's just like my heart.
