Klaus had been snapping Stefan's neck all day in anger. She cringed every time he did but it wouldn't kill Stefan so she just had to live through it. It was turning nightfall and Rebekah had been ordered to watch over Stefan until he woke. Klaus was going to the school to get Elena.

Eira was kneeling next to Stefan, waiting for him to wake up when Klaus was going to leave. Eira was going to get up to follow him but he turned to her.

"Stay here. Watch over your brother," Klaus ordered.

"Why can't I come with you?" Eira questioned.

"I'm honored you would want to," Klaus smirked before he frowned. "But you and your words are like a temptress so stay here."

Klaus used vampire speed and he was gone from her sight before she could even blink. Rebekah smiled at the care her brother had for the girl. Eira just did what he asked and stayed with Stefan.

Stefan slowly woke up and grabbed his neck in pain. Once he saw Rebekah waiting, he jumped awake.

"Oh, he lives," Rebekah stated.

"What happened?" Stefan questioned.

"You've been getting your neck snapped all day by Klaus," Eira answered. "He was angry."

"Yes, he was since you kept the secret of the doppelgänger being alive," Rebekah stated as Stefan stood up so Eira stood up as well.

Stefan took a step back in caution and turned around asking,"Where is Klaus now?"

"With any luck, ripping that cow's bloody head off," Rebekah answered and Stefan stopped.

Stefan flew at Rebekah with vampire speed, knocking her out of the storage truck and pinning her to the ground. "Where is she?"

"You really care for her, don't you?" Rebekah questioned and used her vampire strength to push Stefan off of her.

Rebekah grabbed a crowbar and stabbed Stefan in the stomach,"Consider me jealous."

Stefan passed out and Eira jumped down from the truck and kneeled next to Stefan. She looked at Rebekah,"You didn't have to be so violent."

"He'll be fine. Now, watch over Stefan," Rebekah said and vamp sped away from her.

Eira pulled the crowbar out of Stefan's stomach. He still didn't wake up. He was passed out and she had to wait for him.

Stefan awoke and he looked at Eira,"Where is Elena?"

"The school," Eira answered.

Stefan stood up and Eira stood up with him,"Stef, you don't need to make sacrifices for her."

Stefan looked at her,"It's the right thing to do."

"Stay here," Stefan said and vamp sped away from her to the school.

Eira huffed and she went and sat down on the end of the truck with her legs dangling down. She crossed her arms and she waited.

Stefan had been compelled to obey Klaus and he had killed two people by his orders. Klaus had put a time limit of twenty minutes on in the gym and when time ran out Stefan was ordered to feed on Elena. If Elena ran, Stefan would have to fracture her spine.

"Caroline's dad! Stefan, he was able to resist compulsion. I don't know how, but he did it. Maybe it's possible," Elena hoped.

"Yeah, yeah. Maybe it's just mind control, right? Maybe it just takes some focus, a couple decades of training. No big deal," Stefan paced.

"Stefan, you can control this. When that buzzer goes off, just...just drink from me," Elena said.

"You don't get it. I can't stop, Elena! I'm a ripper! A ripper doesn't stop! I listen to the words that come out of your mouth, and all I hear is the sound of your heart pumping blood through your body. And when that clock ticks down...I'm going to have to feed on you. And you want to know what's worse? I'm not going to be able to stop," Stefan shouted.

"I don't believe that. You can fight it. You just have to want it bad enough," Elena hoped.

"The only reason I could fight it is if you were Eira. Last I checked, you're not her," Stefan started. "I can't help what I am, Elena. The more blood that I get, the more I want, and if I get so much as near yours...you are dead."

Eira got tired of waiting and she walked herself to the school. She got there and she went to the gym. She figured if Klaus wanted to cause a spectacle, he'd go to the biggest place. She was right.

A clock in the gym had just ticked down to zero and Eira walked in. Stefan was struggling to hold himself back from Elena. Stefan shouted for Elena to run. Stefan couldn't hold the compulsion any longer and he vamp sped at Elena but Eira threw him back with the wind.

Eira knew that Stefan didn't want to hurt Elena. He didn't want to hurt anybody. Elena looked at her. "Run, Elena. Let's go."

Eira grabbed Elena's arm and pulled Elena with her. They ran through the hallways. Stefan was using vampire speed but he slowed himself down by running into lockers.

Eira and Elena got through a door and closed it. Eira turned around and was so startled by Klaus being there that she threw him through the air with the wind into some lockers. The lockers were now dented.

Klaus looked at her,"You need to stop doing that."

Klaus vamp sped in front of her and she squeaked out,"Sorry."

"I thought I told you to stay with the car," Klaus was angered.

"Everyone left," she answered and Klaus rolled his eyes.

Klaus grabbed Elena's arm and dragged her to the cafeteria where Stefan was. Eira followed behind them. Stefan had a broken half of a broom stick stabbed into his stomach to keep from hurting Elena.

"Now this is fascinating. I thought you resisted my compulsion out of your love for Elena. But I see now I was wrong. The one thing that keeps you holding on to your humanity is your sister," Klaus grabbed Eira's and pulled her in front of him. "Why don't you turn it off?"

"No!" Stefan raised his voice.

Klaus let go of Eira and sat on one of the cafeteria tables,"Come on. Your humanity is killing you. All the guilt must be exhausting. Turn it off."

"No!" Stefan stated again.

"You're strong," Klaus pulled the stake out of Stefan. "But you're not that strong. Turn. It. Off."

Stefan pushed Klaus back and shouted,"No!"

Klaus used vampire speed and pinned Stefan against the wall, yelling,"Turn it off!"

Klaus had compelled him to turn off his humanity. Eira took a step forward and tears came to her eyes at her brothers look of defeat.

"What did you do?" Elena asked.

"I fixed him," Klaus turned and looked at Elena.

"But I think a test is in order, don't you?" Klaus walked to Elena and pulled her hair away from her neck.

"Ripper...Perhaps you'd like a drink.. from the doppelgänger's neck?" Klaus questioned.

Stefan's vampire face immediately came out and a tear fell down Eira's cheek. Stefan rushed to Elena and bit into her neck as she screamed.

"Now, don't kill her," Klaus demanded Stefan.

Klaus left the room and Stefan dropped Elena's body once he was done drinking her blood. Eira took a step towards him.

"Stef....," Eira started.

Stefan turned to her and hesitated for a moment before his vampire face came out again and he took a step towards her. Eira took a fearful step back as another tear fell down her cheek.

Klaus came back in the room with a glass vial in his hands and he looked at Stefan,"Now, no killing your sister, mate."

Stefan's vampire face went away and he stopped advancing towards her. Klaus took the vial and kneeled down next to Elena, letting the blood on her neck drip into the vial.

Klaus stood up and he gave the vial to Stefan,"I want you to go and take this to Tyler. If his transformation is successful, take Elena to the hospital and have them take as much blood from Elena as possible."

Stefan nodded and left to do as he was ordered. Klaus grabbed Eira, pulling her to him and then he vamp sped them to the truck where she was supposed to stay.

As soon as Klaus stopped, Eira pushed away from his grasp. He looked at her,"You're upset."

"Of course, I'm upset. You just made my brother emotionless and now he wants to kill me," Eira cried.

"You think it's supposed to matter to me what happens to Stefan?" Klaus questioned.

"It should. I thought you were supposed to be friends. That's not what friends do. Do you even know what being a friend is like?" Eira questioned.

Klaus didn't answer and she looked up at him with sadness in her eyes,"I pity you and I'm angered by you."

"You'll get over it," Klaus shook off her words' effect.

Eira shook her head,"Just go away. Go make your hybrids and I'll stay here like the good little doll you want me to be."

Klaus was going to speak but he saw how upset she was and he saved his breath. He vamp sped away from her, out of her sight and Eira broke down and cried for her brother.

Eira was sitting down on the ground and was leaning against the truck. Her tears had dried up and her sobs stopped. She sniffled every now and again.

Rebekah walked up towards the truck and looked at the girl in pity. She sat down next to Eira.

"I'm sorry," Rebekah apologized.

Eira sniffled,"You don't have anything to be sorry for."

"Well, Nik is my brother, making me somewhat responsible. You looked like you needed an apology, anyway," Rebekah stated.

Eira tearfully smiled,"Thanks, Bekah."

"Anytime, dear. Us girls have to stick together. Now, Nik sent me to get the truck and I can't leave you here, so come on," Rebekah grabbed Eira's arm and pulled her to her feet.

Once they stood up, Rebekah got a call from Klaus. She answered it and she seemed angry while talking to him. She hung up the phone and looked at Eira.

"He left me here," Rebekah stated, baffled.

"What?" Eira questioned in confusion.

"Klaus left town," Rebekah stated and sighed in annoyance.

"Well, that's okay. You can just stay at my place," Eira offered.

Rebekah smiled,"Thank you."

Rebekah took them to the Salvatore boarding house since Eira was a horrible driver. Eira invited her inside since vampires had to be invited in. Eira let her choose which room she wanted and she lent Rebekah some clothes. It was the start of a newfound friendship.
