AN: That is the dress in this chapter.
It was the next day and they were all at a store shopping for clothes for Rebekah. Eira had lent Rebekah a pair of clothes beforehand so she didn't have to stay in her old 20's dress. Eira was picking out clothes for Rebekah to try on since she didn't the know the latest fashion.
Eira walked back with a pile of clothes as Rebekah asked Klaus,"And why are you so grumpy?"
"I needed one thing from you for my witch to find out why my hybrids are dying, one thing. Your necklace. And you lost it," Klaus replied, angrily.
"Give her a break. It wasn't her fault she lost it," Eira defended Rebekah.
"I think you confuse me with someone that shows kindness," Klaus stated.
"You don't have to be kind. You just have to be a little less mean," Eira replied.
Klaus let out a small smile at her witty reply and locked gazes with her,"I'll keep that in mind."
Eira held his gaze and her heartbeat sped up but then she looked away. Stefan looked between the two of them, wondering when gazing into each other's eyes started. He didn't like it, at all.
Klaus still kept his eyes on her as she walked to Rebekah. Eira handed her the pile of clothes. "Here, these are better."
"At least, someone here is nice," Rebekah smiled at the girl and she smiled back.
Rebekah went back in the changing room with all the clothes. Stefan got up and spoke to Klaus,"All right. I'm going to get some fresh air. And would you stop staring at my sister."
Klaus smirked as he mentioned his staring,"Does it bother you?"
"Just stop it," Stefan demanded.
"You have my word. I won't stare at your sister," Klaus promised and Stefan walked out of the store.
Eira walked over and sat down in the seat next to Klaus,"What did he say?"
Klaus answered,"Nothing worth repeating."
Eira looked at him, confused, but decided not to question it. She fumbled with the rose glass vial necklace around her neck as she waited. Rebekah came out of the dressing room in a purple ruffled dress.
"Okay, how do I look?" Rebekah questioned Eira.
Eira looked up and smiled,"You look nice."
"It's not really my color," Rebekah said distastefully. "It's yours, though. You can try it on."
Rebekah went back in the dressing room before she could protest. She came back out soon dressed in another dress and she held the purple one in her hands.
"Here, try it on," Rebekah held it out to her and Eira got up from her seat and reluctantly took the dress.
"Now, how do you I look in this?" Rebekah questioned.
Eira looked at the dress. It was black and it was too long. It looked like it should be worn to some elegant party. "It's okay."
"I agree," Rebekah said and then went back into the changing room.
Eira looked at the dress in her hand and she went into the dressing room next to Rebekah. She put the dress on and Rebekah was right when she said purple was her color. Eira had trouble reaching the zipper. She had no clue how Rebekah did it.
Eira held the dress to her chest to keep it from falling and she opened the curtains of the dressing room. Eira walked out of the dressing room a little bit and she looked at Klaus.
Klaus looked at her and he openly stared, but then he looked away, remembering he made a promise not to stare at her. Eira looked at him and said,"Um, I need your help. I can't reach the zipper."
Klaus got up from his seat immediately and he walked over to her quickly. Eira turned around and she moved her hair to the side, so he could zip the dress.
Eira looked in the mirror that was in the dressing room as he zipped her dress. He was slow with it, deliberately. She felt his fingers graze her back as he zipped her dress up. His touch was like a chill. A chill that kept her from burning up. Goosebumps rose on her skin.
He finally finished zipping her dress and she asked,"How do I look?"
He made a promise that he couldn't stare at her. Instead, he stared at her reflection. "You look beautiful. You always look beautiful."
Eira blushed and smiled at the compliment and her heartbeat sped up again. She caught his gaze in the mirror and she suddenly felt like she was burning up.
She looked away and she gestured with her hand towards the zipper,"Can you....?"
He unzipped her dress and she stepped away from him. She turned around and looked at him,"Thank you."
She went back into her dressing room and closed the curtains. Her heart was pounding. She took the dress off quickly, wanting to be out of it. She put her clothes back on and she exited the dressing room.
She put the dress back on its hanger and hung it up where she found it. She went and took the seat next to Klaus and she glanced at him, quickly and then looked straight again. He smirked as he saw her glance at him.
Rebekah decided now was a good time to reappear and she wore a smile like the devil as if she planned for that to happen. Rebekah tried on a few more outfits before finding one she liked and they left, going to Gloria's Bar.
_____________
Rebekah was sitting on the bar and Klaus was sitting on a seat next to her. Eira sat on the other side of Rebekah in a seat. Gloria was performing a spell, trying to find where this necklace was that Klaus needed.
Stefan entered and Rebekah spoke,"You left us."
"Yeah, sorry. Retail therapy was making my head explode," Stefan explained.
"Oh, it wasn't that bad," Klaus looked at Eira. Eira felt his gaze and looked at him with wide eyes. Stefan tilted his head in confusion, wondering what happened.
Stefan wanted to get Klaus' attention away from his sister. He looked at Gloria and spoke,"What's she doing?"
Klaus looked away from Eira,"She's failing."
"It's hard to find something when you don't have anything to go on," Gloria defended herself.
"So use me. I only wore it for a thousand years," Rebekah hopped off the bar where she was sitting and went over to Gloria.
"See? Now this one offers me a solution," Gloria spoke.
Rebekah went and sat on the table where Gloria was and the witch spoke,"All right, give me your hand, sweetheart."
Rebekah gave Gloria her hand and Gloria started performing the spell. "She's, uh, she's looking for the necklace, huh?" Stefan questioned nervously, which Eira thought was weird.
Gloria closed her eyes and spoke in Latin. All of the sudden she opened her eyes and let go of Rebekah's hand. She looked at Klaus and said,"I found it."
"So, where is it?" Rebekah questioned.
"It doesn't work like that, doll. I get images. There's a girl with her friends...," Gloria spoke but Rebekah interrupted.
"Yes, a dead girl with dead friends, if I don't get my necklace back," Rebekah threatened.
"Well, I'll have to dive back in to get the details," Gloria explained.
"So dive," Klaus stated and walked over to Gloria.
"I need more time," Gloria explained. Klaus put his hands on the table and leaned down next to her. "And space. You're harshing my ju-ju."
"We can wait," Klaus stated.
"I'm sure you can. But that's not what I asked," Gloria spoke and Stefan intervened.
"Hey. Hey, you know, why don't we just come back later. I'm hungry anyway. I'll let you pick who we eat," Stefan stated and left for the door.
Klaus hesitated and he looked at Eira. She looked a little shocked that Stefan would do that.
"Come on, love. I can't leave you here," Klaus stated and Eira got up and walked to him. He started walking to the door with Eira and Rebekah following.
____________
Eira was sitting on a crate with her legs folded in front of her and her arms wrapped around them. Stefan and Klaus were feeding off of two girls. Rebekah had already killed hers. Eira was uncomfortable, but she dealt with it. After all, they were vampires.
"My girl's dead. I'm bored," Rebekah stated.
Klaus stopped feeding from the girl he was holding and he looked at Stefan. He had already killed one girl and he was almost killing another. It hurt to see him like that.
"You weren't kidding about being hungry," Klaus said to Stefan.
"It's been a long day," Stefan said after he stopped feeding on the now dead girl.
"Try being related to her," Klaus looked at Rebekah and Stefan laughed.
"Don't be mean," Eira spoke and she smiled at Rebekah. "Rebekah's better than both of you."
"A thousand years of life experience says otherwise," Klaus responded to her.
"Well, you're no picnic, either. I mean, I've only spent one summer with you and I feel like I want to blow my head off," Stefan said to Klaus.
Rebekah laughed and Eira giggled. Klaus looked at her as she laughed. He found himself liking hearing her laugh.
"Fantastic," Rebekah smiled at Stefan.
Stefan dropped the dead girl on the floor and he stood up,"I need to go."
Stefan wiped the blood off his mouth and left the warehouse they were in. Rebekah looked after him as he left and she asked,"Where's he going?"
"To write a name on a wall. It's a long story," Klaus answered.
Klaus looked at Eira as she looked off into space. He dropped the dead girl he was holding on the floor and he vamp sped in front of her, making Eira clutch her necklace.
"What are you doing?" Eira questioned as her heart beat slowed down from being startled.
"I want you to come with me," Klaus held his hand out to her.
"Where?" she questioned.
"Well, it would be a shame if your in this city and you didn't get to see any of it," Klaus replied, still holding his hand out to her.
Eira hesitantly took his hand and she hopped off the crate she was sitting on. Klaus pulled her along behind him and he looked at Rebekah,"Stay here. Watch over everything."
"Of course, Nik," Rebekah sighed out, annoyed.
_____________
Klaus brought her to the Willis Tower (Sears Tower) in Chicago. It was tallest building in Chicago and on the 103rd floor it had glass balconies that looked over the city.
"What are we doing here?" Eira asked as she looked up at the giant building.
"Patience, love," Klaus said.
They entered the Willis Tower and they walked into the elevators the building had. Klaus pressed the button for the 103rd floor. The elevator climbed 1,353 feet in two minutes. She was astonished.
"Wow," she said as the elevator door opened.
"Don't be amazed yet, love," Klaus said.
Eira walked out of the elevator and Klaus followed behind her. She saw glass balconies that jutted out from the building. She gulped.
Eira walked to the one of the empty balconies that no one was on. She hesitantly put her foot on the glass, she looked down and saw the ground a thousand feet below. She looked up, not wanting to look down. Instead she looked out of the glass that showed a wide view over the city.
Eira put her hand on the glass and looked out in awe. "This is amazing."
Klaus was next to her and he looked directly at her as he replied,"Yes, it is."
Eira didn't notice that he kept glancing at her, making sure not to stare. She was too caught up in how wonderful the view of the city was.
"Can we stay here a little while?" Eira asked.
"Whatever you want, love," Klaus replied and Eira smiled.
_____________
They walked out of the Willis Tower and she looked at him,"Thank you. For taking me."
"Thank me when the day is over," Klaus replied.
"We're going someplace else?" Eira questioned.
"You didn't think I'd only show you one thing of the city, did you?" Klaus questioned.
She bit her lip,"Maybe."
____________
Klaus then took her to the Chicago Botanic Garden. Eira stepped out of the car and she saw the sign for where they were at.
"You brought me to a garden?" Eira smiled.
"Well, I thought it was fitting. You are Mother Nature," Klaus replied.
Klaus compelled a worker to give them free parking when the worker asked for payment. Eira grabbed Klaus' hand and led him through the garden. She smiled at all the flowers she saw. She smiled even wider when she saw the roses and she stopped.
"I love roses. They're my favorite," Eira stated.
"Yes, I've noticed," Klaus came closer to her and he picked the necklace up that was clasped around her neck. "Why?"
He let the necklace go and it hung around her neck again. His close proximity made her heart beat faster. She had trouble making her mind come up with a coherent answer.
She looked up at him,"I think roses symbolize life. The petal part of the rose is beautiful like life has its beautiful moments. Then there's the thorns, that hurt as they prick you like life is full of moments that hurt."
Klaus smiled at her answer. "I didn't peg you as the type to be poetic."
"I didn't peg you as the type to be fun," Eira teased. "But here we are."
Eira grabbed his hand and he let her pull him through the garden. She had a smile on her face as she walked through it all and he loved her smile. It was easily his favorite thing about her.
_____________
Klaus and Eira were walking along the sidewalk to Gloria's Bar. It was nightfall now and he wanted to check Gloria's progress on finding the necklace.
Eira had kept holding his hand and he didn't have the heart to pull his hand away from hers. She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and she looked at him,"Thank you for today."
"You don't need to thank me. You deserve to see the world, Eira," Klaus spoke to her and she kept her smile.
"I'm still thanking you," Eira said.
Klaus just squeezed her hand as they walked into Gloria's Bar. No one was there and Klaus let go of her hand. He walked around inspecting the place.
He looked angry,"She's gone."
Klaus walked quickly to exit the bar and he grabbed her hand, dragging her along with him. They got outside and Eira couldn't keep up with him.
"Klaus, I may be supernatural, but I'm still human," Eira started. "I can't walk as fast as you."
Klaus stopped and she stopped in relief. Eira gasped as all of the sudden Klaus held her in his arms, bridal style. He had used vampire speed.
"Klaus!" she scolded and she pushed his shoulder, lightly. "You could at least tell me when you're going to do that."
"Where would the fun in that be, love?" Klaus smirked.
"You're impossible," Eira stated and shook her head.
"Yet you deal with me anyway," Klaus made a point.
"Yes. I guess, I do," Eira smiled and rested her head on his shoulder.
____________
Klaus used vampire speed to get them to warehouse now that he was holding Eira in his arms. He set her down once he got there. He grabbed her hand and pulled her along with him, making sure to slow his pace.
"Gloria's gone. She's cleared out. We need to find a new witch immediately," Klaus stated as he entered the warehouse.
He saw Stefan and Rebekah's close proximity and he questioned,"What's going on?"
"Something's wrong. He was asking about Mikael. He's not with us, Nik. I can sense it," Rebekah stated.
"She's wrong. Klaus...," Stefan pleaded with him.
Klaus let go of her hand and rushed to Stefan with his vampire speed, snapping his neck. Eira gasped and she rushed to go help Stefan but Klaus grabbed her arm, holding her back. He held her arm too tightly in his anger, making her arm hurt.
"You're hurting me," Eira stated, trying to get out of his grip.
Klaus released her arm, not wanting her hurt her. "What is he hiding?"
"He's not hiding anything," Eira wracked her brain for something.
"Now, come on, love. That's a lie. Think. What is he hiding?" Klaus asked again.
"Elena," Eira realized as she remembered.
"What about her?" Klaus questioned.
"She's alive."
____________
Eira told him that Elena was alive and they were all leaving for Mystic Falls. Stefan was put in the storage truck and Rebekah rode in that car. Eira was in the passenger seat of the SUV while Klaus drove. She could tell he was angry so she just didn't say anything.
They got to Mystic Falls and Klaus' anger seemed to tone down. He looked at after he turned the car off. His face softened as he looked at her.
Klaus opened the car door and he got out. Eira followed and got out as well. Klaus was going towards the back of the storage truck and she stepped in front of him.
"What are you going to do Stefan?" Eira asked in worry.
He sighed and he looked at her,"I won't kill him. Now, stay here."
Rebekah was out of the truck and Klaus spoke to her,"Make sure she listens."
Eira huffed and crossed her arms. She started to pace as she waited to find out what would happen to Stefan.
Klaus waited in the back of the storage truck for Stefan to wake up. He kicked his foot, tired of waiting. Stefan opened his eyes and then he jumped awake. Stefan looked at Klaus in caution.
"Just give me a chance to explain myself, okay?" Stefan held his hand up, pleading with Klaus.
"Your sister already explained everything. What you've been hiding. The doppelgänger is alive," Klaus said and he opened the back of the truck, revealing to Stefan that they were in Mystic Falls.
"Welcome back to Mystic Falls, Stefan," Klaus said and then he snapped Stefan's neck again.
Author's Note: Okay, all the places I mentioned are real. You can actually go to them. I hope you like this chapter.
