It was assumed that Caroline was spying on all of them because of the way she was dead set on keeping Elena and Stefan apart. They assumed Katherine was involved. They didn't know why yet. So, they had to be careful around Caroline.

Eira went with Stefan to the Mystic Falls Historical Society Volunteer Day. It was a day to give back to the community. The land they were volunteering on was going to be a new public park and they were helping create it.

Eira was painting some of the wooden posts that were up while Stefan went to negotiate peace with Mason. She hoped it would work but highly doubted it.

Soon, Stefan rejoined her and he told her that he made a deal with Mason to keep the peace. He had threatened Mason to do it but it worked. Although, Stefan didn't trust Mason.

Stefan was cutting wood while Eira was painting and she saw Stefan looking at Elena who was looking right back at him. Elena had started walking over to Stefan and Eira stopped painting. She moved away from them a bit to let them talk but she was still within hearing distance.

"Stefan...," Elena started.

"Don't. Why do you keep trying Elena? I don't want to be with you anymore," Stefan cut Elena off.

His words stung Elena and it hurt. "I keep trying Stefan because I love you. And I know you still love me too. I'm not just going to give up on us."

"I do love you, Elena. I'll probably always love you," Stefan's voice broke. "But, I know what's good for me. You aren't."

Tears sprung to Elena's eyes and she nodded,"I'm sorry, Stefan. I never wanted to hurt you."

Elena walked away from Stefan after she said that. Eira walked back to Stefan and grabbed his hand, squeezing it in comfort. Stefan took a deep breath and squeezed her hand back.

"I'll be fine," he said to her like he was trying to get himself to believe it.

"And until you are, I'll be here," Eira comforted.

Eira continued painting while Stefan went to deal with Damon. He saw Damon talking to Mason and wanted to make sure he didn't do anything stupid.

It had been awhile since Stefan was with her and she was starting to get worried for both of her brothers. Then, she got that bad feeling once again.

Eira looked all around trying to find her brothers but they were nowhere in sight. Eira started walking and as she walked the bad feeling got stronger like the feeling was telling her where to go.

Eira followed the feeling as it got stronger and stronger. It led her into the woods. Eira started walking quicker and coming into her vision was Mason holding Elena, getting ready to snap her neck and Caroline was in front of them.

Eira raised her hands out in front of her and willed for Mason to be stopped. Vines grew out of the ground behind Mason and they slowly crept to him and as they got to him they raised higher out of the ground to reach his arms. The vines quickly striked and wrapped around Mason's arms that were holding Elena, and with their supernatural strength they ripped Mason's arms from around Elena's neck. Elena stepped away from Mason.

"What the hell is this?" Mason shouted trying to pull away from the vines.

The vines wrapped around his arms even tighter, constricting the blood flow, before lifting him in the air and throwing him into a tree so hard that it knocked him out in the process.

Caroline and Elena looked at her shocked. "Lets go," Eira stated and they followed after her.

Eira's bad feeling was the strongest at the entrance to an underground cellar that the Lockwood's had. Caroline's vampires senses led them there as well.

Eira ran down into the cellar immediately and Caroline called out her name but Eira kept going. Down in the cellar it was rocky and made of bricks. A police officer came into her view and she raised her hand.

Instead of vines coming out to protect her, the ground shook. A sudden supernatural earthquake was happening. The ground opened up where the officer was standing and he fell into the opening. The ground had eaten the officer alive. The ground closed and the earthquake stopped, the officer would never be seen again.

Eira came through the doorway and there was Liz and another officer with their guns out, having them trained on her.

"You're not going to kill them," Eira stated.

Liz took a step back in fear,"You're one of them, aren't you? A vampire?"

Elena came barreling into the cellar behind Eira and then Caroline vamp sped around in the cellar before she attacked the last officer. She bit into his shoulder and then snapped his neck, killing him. She then dropped him and her face was hidden in the shadows of the cellar.

Caroline's vampire face was showing and she still had blood all around her mouth. She stepped into the light and she calmed down and her vampire face went away. Liz had a horrified expression on her face.

"Hi, Mom," Caroline greeted.

Eira went to her brothers and knelt down between them. Damon was awake and he spoke,"Your going to have to dig these out. Get Stefan first."

Eira moved over to Stefan and looking at the bullets all lodged into his chest. Eira reached her hands out and she grimaced as she dug her fingers into the bullet holes, searching for the bullets. She got them all out of Stefan and he started to wake up. Elena had helped and got all the bullets out of Damon.

Damon was drinking blood from the dead deputy. Eira was comforting Stefan as he recovered. Caroline was sitting in the corner along with her mom although she distanced herself from Caroline. Elena was standing, waiting for both the Salvatore brothers to heal.

Damon sat next to Eira and Stefan. He spoke to Stefan,"You need to drink some deputy blood."

"No. I'm gonna be fine. It's just gonna take a little bit longer," Stefan stated, grimacing in pain.

"Damon's right you know. If there's ever time to break your diet...," Caroline spoke up.

"He said he didn't want it, okay?" Elena spoke up from the side of the room and Eira glared at her. She didn't get to speak for her brother.

Damon stood up and stumbled a bit. "This is a most unfortunate situation. Two deputies dead and you," Damon looked at Liz. "What am I gonna do with you?"

"You won't tell anyone, will you? Mom? Mom? Please. Look, I know that we don't get along and that you hate me but I'm your daughter and you'll do this for me, right? Mom, please. He will kill you," Caroline spoke to Liz.

"Then kill me," Liz spoke.

"No!" Caroline shouted.

"I can't take this. Kill me now," Liz said to Damon.

Damon walks over to Liz and bends down, looking her in the eye. "But you were gonna drag it out so painfully," Damon spoke and then he suddenly grabbed her.

Chaos erupted as everyone thought Damon was going to kill Liz. "No, no, no, no, no, no, no!" Caroline shouted.

"Damon, don't!" Stefan shouted.

"Damon, please!" Elena shouted.

"Relax guys. No one is killing anybody," Damon spoke before looking at Liz. "You're my friend."

"We've got to clean this up," Damon looked at the deputy.

They cleaned up the cellar and they went to the Salvatore boarding house except Elena and Caroline. Elena went home since she wasn't involved with Stefan anymore and Caroline went to go get clothes for her mom. They were going to have to wait for the vervain to leave Liz's system before they could compel her to forget everything.

Eira opened the door to let Caroline in. "Hey, sorry that took forever. I just didn't know how long my mom was gonna be here."

"According to Damon, it'll take three days for the vervain to leave her system but maybe sooner," Eira said as she closed the door after Caroline walked in.

Stefan showed up as they were walking to down their cellar in the basement. That's where Liz was going to stay.

"Hey," Caroline greeted Stefan.

"Hey," Stefan said back.

"You get some bunny in you?" Caroline asked and Eira giggled at how Caroline said it.

"Yeah, I'm feeling much better, thank you," Stefan said as they continued their walk to their cellar.

They had arrived to the cellar that Liz was put in when they heard Liz say,"Can you keep Caroline far away from me, please? I don't wanna see her."

"She's your daughter, Liz," Damon explained.

"Not anymore. My daughter's gone," Liz said.

"You have no idea how wrong you are about that," Damon replied.

Caroline put the suitcase down that had her mother's clothes and started heading upstairs, away from her mother. Eira's heart went out to Caroline. She couldn't imagine how much it must've hurt to hear her mother say that.

Eira followed Caroline upstairs to comfort her as a friend should do. Caroline sat on the couch and she had tears running down her face.

"Caroline, she doesn't mean it. Not really," Eira spoke.

"I don't want to talk about it," Caroline sniffled.

"Do you want me to take you home?" Eira asked.

Caroline shook her head, "I can't go home."

"Why not?" Eira asked.

"Because I'm scared," Caroline stated.

Eira walked closer to her,"Why are you scared? You can talk to me, Care."

"Katherine's gonna be there and she's gonna want me to tell her everything that happened today. She told me I had to spy on everybody and report back to her. She told me to stay away from you," Caroline explained.

"I know. We figured that out. Did she threaten someone, Care?" Eira asked.

"Matt, she threatened Matt and I'm so scared of her, Eira! I am so scared of her," Caroline revealed, frightened.

"And it's okay to be. She can be really mean when she wants to be," Eira explained and Caroline nodded.

"Why is she doing this? What does she want?" Caroline asked.

"She wants to be free," Eira answered and Caroline hugged her. Eira hugged her back.

Caroline had fallen asleep and Eira draped a blanket over Caroline. Then she walked away and Damon walked into the room.

Eira put a finger over her mouth to let him know to be quiet. "Stefan's thinking about drinking people blood," Damon explained quietly.

"He needs it," Damon continued. "And we all know, he'll only drink it if you say he can."

Eira nodded and hugged Damon,"I'll talk to him about it. Goodnight."

Eira pulled away and went to find Stefan. She found him in the parlor sitting on the couch. She walked over to him and sat down next to him.

"Damon told me what you're thinking," Eira explained.

"I almost died today because I'm not strong enough. Katherine built up a tolerance to vervain by drinking a little every day. I can do the same but with blood. I can learn to control myself," Stefan stated.

"Is this what you want?" Eira questioned.

Stefan thought before looking at her,"Yes."

"Than we'll do this together, Stef," Eira grabbed the letter opener on the table next to them. "If you can build up a tolerance to my blood, you can tolerate anyone's blood."

"Eira, no," Stefan refused, shaking his head.

"Stef, you made a promise that you wouldn't hurt me. And I have faith in you," Eira explained.

Eira stabbed the letter opener into the palm of her hand and then she held her hand out to Stefan. "You're my twin and I believe in you."

Stefan grabbed her hand hesitantly before bringing it to his mouth and biting into it. The veins underneath his eyes appeared, revealing his vampire face. It stung as he bit her hand but if Stefan could control his vampire thirst then it was worth it.

Eira's blood was euphoric and unlike any other blood Stefan had tasted. But, he didn't let his vampire side control him. This was his sister and he remembered he made a promise to her that he wouldn't hurt her. He would keep that promise no matter what. He let go of her hand after a minute.

The veins under Stefan's eyes were still there after he let go of her hand. Stefan was breathing heavily. Stefan closed his eyes and took a deep breath before opening them again and his face was back to normal.

Stefan looked at Eira,"Just as long as you believe in me, I can do this."

"Always and forever, Stef," Eira smiled.
