It was the day of the Mystic Falls Carnival. Elena still hadn't told Stefan that she kissed Damon. But, she told Bonnie.

"Katherine looked just like you. It was freakish," Bonnie thought.

"She is my ancestor," Elena replied completely bypassing the subject. "Hey I moved the student booth into the cafeteria."

"Your vampire ancestor and she didn't just resemble you like a family member would. She was you," Bonnie explained while helping set up a booth for the carnival.

"I don't know, I can't explain it. It's creepy, that's all I got," Elena stated.

"How do you know she's not still out there pretending to be you?" Bonnie asked.

"I don't but I could sit here and be tortured by the not-knowing or I could get these prizes to the ring toss," Elena said.

"Have you told Stefan that you kissed Damon?" Bonnie questioned.

"No and I know he deserves to know. I just, I don't know why I did it. I don't want to lose Stefan," Elena explained.

"Than you shouldn't have kissed Damon," Bonnie had an attitude.

"I know," Elena sighed.

"And maybe you should consider the possibility that you have feelings for Damon," Bonnie suggested.

"I can't," Elena shook her head. "It's not fair to Stefan."

"What's fair is figuring out how you feel, Elena," Bonnie advised. "For both of their sakes."

Elena nodded, agreeing with Bonnie. She had to figure out how she felt for both of the Salvatore brothers. And, first she had to tell Stefan that she kissed Damon.

Stefan was teaching Jeremy about vampires. He told him that vervain and a wooden stake through the heart was a vampire's weakness. Then, Elena walked over to them. She felt guilty once she saw Stefan.

"Right. Well, today we have a nice little distraction courtesy of the slave driver Elena," Stefan said to Jeremy as Elena walked up.

"Hello Elena," Stefan smiled at her.

"Hey, did you....," Elena started to say to Jeremy.

"Yeah, yeah, I set up the gold fish toss all three hundred gold fish. It's gonna be epic!" Jeremy said sarcastically and walked away.

Elena sighed, leaning against the lockers and Stefan tried to comfort her,"He's gonna be alright."

"I was just hoping that this carnival would reel him back into the land of a high school teenager," Elena explained.

"Oh, is that what we were doing here?" Stefan questioned.

"Yes, we all are. We're going to be boring high school students who live in a world where the "v" word is not uttered," Elena stated.

"Got it," Stefan said. "But, um, you know Katherine showing up and Damon seems like he's unaffected."

"Oh," Elena said as she knew why Damon wasn't affected. It was because she kissed him. "I don't know. It's Damon."

"Right," Stefan nodded. "I'll figure it out."

Elena just looked down and let the guilt consume her.

Eira had Stefan take her to the hospital after a while of helping set up the carnival. She promised Caroline that she would come and visit her again and she intended to keep that promise. Eira walked next to Stefan to Caroline's hospital room.

"Hey, I'm going to wait out here, okay?" Stefan pointed to waiting area.

"Okay," Eira nodded and walked into Caroline's room.

Eira walked and she saw Matt set the hospital food down on the table. Matt smiled at her and she smiled back.

"Hey, Care," Eira looked at Caroline.

"Hey," Caroline replied and gave Eira a small smile.

"Your mom said you're not eating," Matt stated.

"It's gross," Caroline replied.

Caroline's new vampire sense of smell picked up on Eira's blood. Caroline looked down immediately as she felt her vampire fangs come out. The only thing she could think about was the tantalizing scent filling her nose and how delicious it smelt. Saliva built up in her mouth at the thought of tasting it.

"I'm pretty tired," Caroline lied. "So, if you guys could just leave...."

Eira and Matt both frowned but otherwise agreed. "Okay, yeah. We'll just come back later," Matt said and left the room with Eira following.

Eira walked up to Stefan and he could already sense her coming and he stood up from the chair he was sitting in. "That was the quickest visit ever," Stefan stated.

"I don't know," Eira thought. "It was weird. Something was off with Caroline."

"Well, she's probably just tired," Stefan assured.

"Yeah," Eira nodded and walked with Stefan out of the hospital. Eira looked back as she left having that bad feeling once again.

Stefan took Eira home and she went inside the boarding house as Stefan went to go fulfill his animal vampire diet. Eira plopped down on the couch, waiting for him.

Damon entered the room and was pouring blood from a blood bag into a glass. Stefan entered and Damon offered,"Care for one?"

"No, thank you," Stefan denied. "I'm not hungry, just ate."

"Are you worried that one day, all the forest animals are gonna band together and fight back? I mean, surely they talk," Damon joked.

Eira laughed as she now had the image of forest animals chasing after Stefan. She would love to see that.

"I'm glad you think that's amusing," Stefan shook his head.

"Of course, I do," Eira smiled and Damon chuckled before becoming serious.

"I think the Lockwoods have a family secret because the Gilbert device affected them but vervain didn't so they're not vampires, they're something else," Damon stated.

Eira remembered Katherine telling her that the Lockwood's were something supernatural but had never told her what. Katherine had made a deal with George Lockwood that she wouldn't reveal what he was if he got her out of the tomb.

"Is this your new obsession?" Stefan asked.

"You'd rather some unknown supernatural element running rampant upon our town. Fine, I'll drop it," Damon said.

"We haven't seen the last of Katherine, you do know that right? We have no idea what she's up to," Stefan stated.

"Sure we do. She came back to profess her undying eternal love for you so I'm gonna let you deal with her because I have more important things to do like steal your girl. Cheers!" Damon explained and walked out of the room.

Later in the evening, Eira went with Stefan to the carnival. Stefan had played a couple carnival games with her because she wanted to learn how to play. Stefan had gotten her cotton candy because she loved it now, thanks to Tyler.

They had found Damon and they walked over to him. Damon was watching Tyler in an arm wrestling competition. "You're lurking," Stefan stated as he walked up.

Eira just munched on her cotton candy. "I'm observing," Damon defended.

"More like obsessing," Stefan said.

Tyler won the arm wrestling match and Damon said,"He's got strength."

"He's a triple letter varsity athlete, of course he has strength. You're reaching," Stefan explained.

Mason arrives to arm wrestle Tyler and Damon comments,"Enter the uncle."

"That's ridiculous," Stefan stated.

Mason sensed a presence in the air. A presence that called out to him. His eyes searched the crowd and they landed on Eira. He could feel his eyes turn their werewolf color and he closed them. He opened them again when he sensed they were back to normal. "Hey, are you alright?" Tyler asked Mason.

"Yeah," he said and started to arm wrestle Tyler.

Stefan and Damon were looking at Eira. "What was that?" they both questioned.

"I don't know," Eira spoke the truth. "I never know what I'm doing most of the time."

They went back to watching the arm wrestle. Mason beat Tyler. "Alright, he's the champ. Who wants to go next?" Tyler said to the crowd.

"Stefan wants to go," Damon offered Stefan up without his permission.

"Yeah, sure, I'll.... give it a shot," Stefan said.

"Go, Stefan!" Eira hollered.

"Get him, Stef!" Damon called out.

The arm wrestle started and Stefan seemed to struggle before Mason won. Stefan walked back over to Eira and Damon.

"You didn't put in any effort," Damon replied angrily.

"Yeah, actually, I did," Stefan explained.

Damon's surprised and so is Eira. "Come with me," Damon said.

Stefan and Eira follow Damon. Eira throws away her finished cotton candy in a nearby trash can before catching up with her siblings.

"Is he.....," Damon started to ask.

"No, no, it wasn't that kind of strength but it was more than human, if that makes any sense," Stefan explained.

"What is up with that family? They're not vampires, what the hell are they? And what the hell was that look he gave Eira?" Damon spoke out loud.

"Ooh, ah, maybe they're, um, ninja turtles!" Stefan joked.

"You're not funny," Damon shook his head in disbelief.

"Or no, zombies, werewolves," Stefan continued to joke.

"No comedic timing, at all," Damon commented.

Damon looked at a boy behind them who was fixing something. Stefan noticed, "What? What are you up to?"

"This is reality and there's no such thing as werewolves or...combat turtles," Damon said.

"I said ninja turtles, actually," Stefan explained.

"Hey you!" Damon called out to the boy.

"I have a name," the boy replies.

"Yeah, I don't care," Damon grabs the boy and compels him. "I need you to pick a fight with someone, a kid named Tyler Lockwood."

"Damon, don't do this," Stefan pleaded.

Damon brushed Stefan off with the motion of his hand. "It's just an experiment," Damon explained to Stefan before continuing to compel the boy. "Get him mad, don't back down no matter what he does, okay?"

"I won't back down," the boy said in monotone.

"I know you won't," Damon stated. He releases the boy and pats him on the back as the boy leaves to do what he was compelled to do.

"Do you realize someone is going to get hurt right?" Stefan asked.

"Yeah, Damon," Eira agreed.

"No, someone is going to get mad, as in rage," Damon explained.

"What's that going to accomplish?" Stefan questioned.

"That Tyler kid is incapable of walking away from a fight. Let's see who intervenes; maybe it's the ambiguous, supernatural mystery uncle," Damon said and walked away.

Eira went with Stefan to see what would happen when Tyler was attacked by the boy that Damon compelled. Tyler's uncle showed up and they saw his eyes turn yellow and gold, werewolf eyes. After that, Stefan and Eira were found by Damon and Elena.

They were in a empty classroom where Damon told them that Caroline was a vampire. Katherine had sent a message of 'game on'. They were discussing the matter of Caroline being a vampire.

"But why Caroline?" Elena questioned.

"Well, I'd say Katherine was jealous," Damon commented and looked at Eira. "We all know how fond Katherine is of you."

"Caroline must be completely out of her mind, she doesn't even know what's happening to her," Stefan worried, changing the subject to more important matters.

"Oh I think she does. All of my compulsion from the past started wearing off the minute she was in transition," Damon explained.

"We have to find her," Stefan stated.

"Yep," Damon agreed. "And kill her."

"You're not gonna kill Caroline," Elena and Eira said simultaneously.

"She knows who we are. She's officially a liability, and we've got to get rid of her," Damon said.

"No, Damon," Eira denied.

"Need I remind you of a tragic little story of a girl named Vicki Donovan? Caroline, of all people, will not make it as a vampire. Her mother is a vampire hunter. Guys come on, we all know how this story's gonna end, just flip to the last chapter and...," Damon explained.

"Not an option, Damon," Elena said.

"No? Your silence is deafening, Stefan. Wait, wasn't there a school carnival the night you staked Vicki? I never had a town where history repeats itself. You know I'm right," Damon said.

Stefan looked to be in thought before saying,"We're not gonna kill her."

Stefan leaves the room and Eira and Elena follow after him. They were going to find Caroline.

They walk around trying to find Caroline eventually they do right before Damon was about to stake her. Stefan ripped the stake out of Damon's hand and pushed him away from Caroline.

"Get away from me," Caroline told Elena, frightened of her. "You killed me."

"No, no, no, no Caroline! That wasn't me. You know that! That was Katherine," Elena explained.

"No! Then why did she look like you?! And why, why did she do this to me?" Caroline questioned frantically.

"Stefan, we've got to get her inside," Elena stated.

Caroline smelt that tantalizing smell again. She breathed in and looked at Eira, finding that it came from her. The veins beneath Caroline's eyes came out along with her fangs. She lunged at Eira but Stefan vamp sped at her and held her back.

"Caroline, come with me," Stefan said to her, holding her hand.

Caroline calmed down once she realized what she was doing. A look of horror crossed her face,"I'm so sorry, Eira."

"It's okay, Care," Eira said to calm her down.

"She will die. It's only a matter of time," Damon said.

"Yeah, maybe so, but it's not gonna happen tonight," Stefan stated.

"Oh, yeah it is," Damon said and picked up the stake and he vamp sped to Caroline to stake her but Elena was in front of Caroline and he stopped.

"Damon, she's my friend," Elena pleaded.

Damon put the stake down as he looked at Elena. He was in love with her and he would do anything to appease her. Damon stepped back from her,"Whatever you want, Elena."

Bonnie walked onto the scene and she was in turmoil to find out that Caroline was a vampire. Stefan had taken Caroline to wipe the blood off her face.

"I can't believe this is happening," Bonnie stayed out loud with dried tears on her face.

"Come on, don't pout about it," Damon arrived with a shovel. "We got a body to bury."

Bonnie started using her magic and Damon started groaning in pain, holding his head. He fell to the ground as Bonnie turned a faucet with her powers and water poured out. It started flowing in a path towards Damon.

"I told you what would happen if anybody else got hurt," Bonnie said to Damon.

"I didn't do this," Damon groaned.

"Bonnie, it wasn't his fault," Elena stated.

"Everything that happens is his fault, Elena," Bonnie believed.

Fire flared up over the water and started towards Damon. Eira willed for Bonnie to stop. The wind whipped harshly and pushed Bonnie, making her fall to the ground. She lost focus and the fire immediately died down right before it got to Damon.

"No one hurts my brother," Eira glared at Bonnie.

Elena helped Bonnie up from the ground and they left, going inside the school. Eira went over to Damon and kneeled down next to him.

She touched his arm,"Are you okay?"

"I guess you being a little freak of Nature does help," Damon said sarcastically as he started to get up from the ground.

Eira shook her head,"Yeah, you'll be just fine. Your sarcasm is intact."

Eira stood up with him. "Go inside, Eira. I'll take care of this," Damon motioned to the body.

Eira hesitated before going inside school. Damon was taking care of the body and she was waiting for Stefan to take her home.

Elena was at her locker and Stefan walked up to her. "Hey, Caroline is okay for now. I'm gonna check in on her later," Stefan said.

"What about the guy that she...," Elena started, not being able to finish the sentence.

"It's taken care of," Stefan informed.

"Damon's right, isn't he? It won't end well for her," Elena stated.

"No, I'm gonna make sure that he's wrong," Stefan was determined.

"I just can't believe what this day has turned into," Elena stated.

"Not your normal day, huh?" Stefan asked.

"I was stupid to think that it could be. I mean, nothing about my life is normal. My best friend is a witch, my boyfriend is a vampire and I have a doppelgänger who's hell-bent on destroying all of us," Elena thought.

"I'm sorry," Stefan replied, taking the blame.

"No, it's not your fault, Stefan. It's no one's fault you know? It is what it is," Elena stated before taking a deep breath. "You don't have to feel sorry for anything. I do."

"Wait, what are you talking about?" Stefan asked, confused.

Elena looked him in the eyes and felt horrible for what she was about to say. The guilt ate away at her.

"I kissed Damon."

Stefan was taken aback,"You what?"

"I regret it so much and I hope that you'll forgive me because I love you, Stefan," Elena explained.

"How can you even say that right now?" Stefan was upset. "You kissed my brother, Elena. I believed in you."

Tears came to Elena's eyes,"I know and I'm sorry."

"I can't even listen to this right now," Stefan said and he hit one of the lockers they were standing next to.

Elena went to touch him to calm him down but Stefan flinched and backed away. "I don't want to be near you right now."

Elena nodded and Stefan immediately left her standing in the hallway. Tears flowed down Elena's cheeks as she felt like she lost Stefan.

Stefan found Eira and he was walking quickly and he looked upset. "We can go now," Stefan grabbed her arm and vamp sped them home. Before he could go inside the house, she grabbed his arm.

"Stefan, what's wrong?" Eira questioned.

Stefan's face crumbled and he looked absolutely heartbroken. Eira immediately hugged him and he hugged her right back.

"Elena kissed Damon," his voice was a mere whisper, not wanting it to be true as he hugged her.

"I love her so much and it hurts," Stefan's voice was devastating.

Eira felt tears hit her shoulder and she heard Stefan's sobs. Tears swelled up in Eira's eyes just by hearing her brother cry. Eira hugged him even tighter.

"It'll be okay, Stef. I promise."

Author's Note: Readers, I'm sorry for not updating a lot this weekend. I have homework and college applications. I'll be pretty busy until November 1 because that's the college deadline. So, I apologize I'm just busy.

So, yeah I told you I was changing the Stefan-Damon-Elena triangle. The reason being is that I have to restart Stefan's story ark.
