Kol went with Elijah to St. Anne's Church where Davina was. Klaus kept watch and made sure they were not interrupted. Klaus and Kol argued on the way over, Klaus not wanting to tell Davina anything about Eira to get her unlinked, he would rather just manipulate the witch. Elijah stopped their bickering and had Kol come with him.

Elijah took the spell out of his jacket pocket and handed it to his little brother, "Kol, I do warn you that if any harm comes to Eira...,"

"I'll be punished with excruciating torture. Nik already threatened me," Kol rolled his eyes. "I have this handled, brother."

Kol took the page of the spell and walked to Davina's room where the door was wide open. Kol smirked when he saw her drawing something. Kol leaned against the doorway.

"Are you drawing my handsome face, darling?" Kol asked.

Davina looked up from her drawing and frowned when she saw Kol. Elijah showed up from behind Kol, looking annoyed with his little brother.

"I do apologize for any nuisance he may cause, Davina," Elijah said.

"What is he doing here?" Davina questioned.

"He's needed for important matters," Elijah explained vaguely.

"Come in," Davina sighed.

Kol and Elijah walked into the little attic room. Kol walked up to Davina and handed her the page of the spell while Elijah set down a sanguinum knot on the table. Davina looked at the spell.

"The spell of unknotting?" Davina asked, hoping for a more powerful spell.

"The spell will help you learn control. It's not as easy as it looks," Kol explained. "And we need you to do this spell, it's very important that you do."

"Why?" Davina looked at the both of them, questioningly.

"There's this girl. Like you, the witches are trying to use her. One of the witches linked themselves to her and by doing this spell, that link will be...," Elijah was cut off.

"Broken. I know. Why is this girl so important?" Davina asked.

Kol and Elijah looked at each other. Kol sighed and looked at Davina, "Have you ever heard of the Sleeping Beauty?"

Davina looked at him with excitement in her eyes, "The Sleeping Beauty. She's a been bedtime story since I was young. You know her?"

"Yes, quite well. This is girl that's linked, Davina. She needs your help, we need your help," Kol answered.

"Do I get to meet her?" Davina asked.

Kol thought, "Maybe."

Davina nodded slowly, "Yeah, I'll do it."

Eira was at the old plantation house where she always was. She was with Hayley in the library, the both of them deciding to spend their time reading. Eira was in the middle of a book when she felt a sharp pinch on the side of her neck.

Eira winced loudly in pain and put a hand to her neck, her hand came away with blood. Her wound had already healed due to the babies' vampire blood in her system.

Hayley came over to her and had a concerned look in her eyes, "What happened?"

"I don't know," Eira said. "It felt like I was stabbed."

Hayley and Eira went to alert her brothers and Rebekah about what happened, the event probably being Sophie-related. Rebekah in turn called one of her brothers to tell them what happened and the brothers went to see Sophie.

Klaus, Elijah, and Kol all rushed into the bar of Rousseau's. They find the kitchen a mess and Sabine, a witch, just waking up on the floor.

Elijah gruffly asked, "What happened?"

Elijah held a hand out and helped Sabine off the floor. Sabine answered, "It was Agnes. Her men took Sophie."

Klaus paced and he was angry, "Where is she?"

"If I tell you where Agnes is, you'll just kill her," Sabine said.

"We'll do more than kill her, love. She'll be tortured in the worst way possible," Kol smirked, wanting to the kill the witch as well as Klaus.

"Look, I know she's a little... coo-coo, but she's our last living Elder. That might not mean a lot to you, but it means plenty to us. The Elders are the only ones who can do important spells," Sabine explained.

"Like completing the Harvest ritual?" Elijah questioned.

"You know about that?" Sabina asked, surprised.

"You'd be astounded by the things I know," Elijah stated.

"Allow me to entertain you with today's list of priorities. One, unlink your friend Sophie so she no longer controls the fate of my lover carrying my children. Two, convince my brother to accept my heartfelt apologies for some recently dodgy behavior. Three...there is no three," Klaus stated.

"I believe what my brother is attempting to communicate here is that neither the life of this Elder, nor the Harvest ritual, nor your coven's connection to magic are of any relevance to him whatsoever," Elijah explained. "Now talk."

Eira was sitting in a chair in the living room. Her brothers were smothering her, they wouldn't leave her side. Hayley was with her as well but she was much less smothering.

Rebekah walked back into the room with a bowl of apples, "It's time for the demon spawns to snack."

"Don't call them that," Eira frowned.

"Oh, sorry, have you picked other names yet?" Rebekah said, holding out the bowl of apples. "Here, take one. The plantation is lousy with them."

Eira took an apple and replied, "If one of them is a boy, I'll name him Henrik."

Damon and Stefan both smiled at thinking of names. Rebekah momentarily paused at the name, thinking of her dead little brother. Tears filled her eyes and a smile crossed her face.

"Nik would love that," Rebekah nodded. "I love it as well."

Eira took a bite of her apple and Stefan asked her, "Okay, how are you feeling?"

"I feel fine," Eira answered, taking another bite of her apple.

"You're sure?" Damon asked.

"Yes," Eira reassured.

"Then, do me a favor, and don't die on our watch. We'll never hear the end of it," Rebekah stated. "Not that I would, because I'll be gone."

"What do you mean?" Eira asked Rebekah.

"I only came to town to make sure everything was okay with Elijah. He's fine, and he hasn't punished Klaus for daggering him, so... as usual, they'll be thick as thieves, and I'll be left to clean up the mess," Rebekah explained and looked at Stefan. "I don't want to do that anymore. You gave me the gift of having children, Eira. This city is no place to raise kids. It just brings drama."

Damon looked at Stefan, "You're just gonna leave Eira?"

Eira looked at Stefan and he looked guilty. She reassured him, "It's okay, Stefan. You too, Rebekah. Just like I'm happy with Klaus, you two should be happy."

Eira all of the sudden felt woozy and her eyes glazed over. They all looked at her in worry and Stefan asked, "What's wrong?"

"I don't know," Eira said. "Probably morning sickness."

Hayley walked over and put a hand on her forehead, "You have a fever."

Eira felt like she was getting hotter by the second. Her head was tilting every which way as her temperature rose higher.

Elijah, Klaus, and Kol found Sophie where Sabine told them where they could find her. Agnes wasn't anywhere to be found. Elijah broke the chains, confining Sophie.

"Agnes stuck me with a needle. Cursed objects were created a long time ago. We use them so we don't get busted by Marcel for doing magic. The one she used is called the Needle of Sorrows. It was cursed in 1860 when...," Sophie explained but she was cut off.

"Jump ahead a few decades and tell us what it does, love?" Klaus asked.

"It has only one purpose: to kill a child in utero by raising her blood temperature," Sophie answered. "But that's not the worst, this a magical object, it'll be more potent to Eira because she is Mother Nature."

The Mikaelson brothers were furious. Klaus went to find the witch, Agnes, by asking the human faction to locate her. Kol went to Davina to have her hurry up with the unlinking spell. Elijah took Sophie back to the plantation house.

Eira was laying in bed as her temperature kept rising. She felt like flames were pouring over her skin. Her mind was hazy and she was in a daze. Hayley and Rebekah gave her brothers wet cloths. Damon and Stefan took the wet cloths, dabbing them on her, so she cooled down.

"It feels like I'm burning," Eira choked out.

"It'll get better. You'll be alright," Damon reassured.

Eira looked at Damon and her mind hallucinated back to when she was sixteen in the 1800's:

Eira's breath was ragged as she struggled to breathe. Her body was drenched in sweat as the fever ravaged through her. She was in and out of sleep, but at the time she was awake. She had pneumonia and she already had a bloodletting as the physician recommended. He recommended to visitors that they wash their hands after seeing her.

Damon was the one at her bedside this time as she awoke. She coughed many times and that got his attention. He walked quickly over to her and gave her a glass of water. She gulped it down and then Damon took a wet cloth and dabbed it on her forehead.

Eira laid in silence on her bed for a moment, closing her eyes as the coolness of the cloth felt good against her forehead. She opened them again and looked at Damon who had a worried look in his eyes.

"Damon, am I dying?" Eira asked. "I know Stefan wouldn't want to worry me, but can you tell me honestly."

Damon rested the cloth on her forehead and he took his hands away. He took a step back and looked at her, saying with conviction, "You're not dying."

"Plus, who would be there to follow me into Hell if you died?" Damon joked, looking down with tears in his eyes and he muttered with a sad smile. "That'd be something only you'd do, follow me to Hell."

"That does sound like me," Eira slightly smiled but then she thought. "But I don't believe in Hell or even Heaven."

Damon looked at her in surprise, "What?"

"People aren't just good and people aren't just bad. It's always in between," Eira stated her beliefs. "I believe that we just exist and then we don't."

"What if I'm not supposed to exist anymore, Day?" Eira looked up at Damon like he knew all the answers.

Eira was brought of her hallucination by people calling her name. She looked all around at them, noticing Elijah and Sophie had arrived. Eira looked at Damon and grabbed his hand, holding it. His hand was cool to the touch and she put it against her forehead.

Sophie knew of a way to slow the fever down and she needed some herbs. Stefan, Rebekah, and Damon went to go fetch those herbs, Sophie texting them a list.

Eira grabbed Damon's hand before he left, "Damon, please don't go."

"I'll be back," he kissed her forehead and then looked at Elijah and Hayley, completely ignoring Sophie. "They'll take care of you."

_____________________

Eira walked out of the bathroom in a tank top and shorts. What she was wearing before was too hot and she needed something to cool her down. Her skin instantly felt cooler.

She was swaying as she walked and she had to stop, leaning against a dresser to keep herself upright. Elijah came to her, wrapping an arm around her and she leaned into him. Her breathing was heavy and her skin felt like it was going to burn off.

Elijah was looking at her worryingly and Eira locked eyes with him as she looked up. She said the first thing that came to mind, "Where's Klaus? I want him here."

He gave her an apologetic look, "He's finding Agnes. The witch who did this."

Eira nodded and Elijah felt sorry. He thought Klaus should be here for her. Elijah was leading her to the pool outside where Sophie and Hayley were.

"Am I going to die? Are they going to die?" Eira put a hand over her stomach.

"No," Elijah said immediately and sternly. "I would never let you or those children die."

Eira looked up at him and Elijah looked at her. She gave him a small smile, "I promise I'll try to make the job easier. I'll really, really try."

Elijah chuckled at her response in a dire time such as this one, she made him laugh. Eira gave a wider smile and looked straight again. She rested her head against Elijah's shoulder as he brought her outside to the pool.

Elijah helped Eira sit down on the edge of the pool. As she sat there, her temperature got worse and she hallucinated again back to the same moment with Damon:

"There's only two people's existence that I care about. You're one of them. I wouldn't let you leave me to exist alone and have to deal with Stefan," Damon shook his head and slightly joked at the end.

"And there is no possible way that your existence ends at sixteen. You have so much more to do. You're supposed to have memories, so many memories..... you're just sixteen," Damon's eyes filled with tears and his voice broke at the end.

"I have memories, Day. You and Stefan. That's all I ever needed. You and Stefan," Eira grabbed Damon's hand and held it, he squeezed it, fighting back tears but one tear fell as Eira coughed up blood.

"Promise me. Promise me, that you'll fight to exist, Eira. Always. That you won't let existence choose the course for you. Promise me, you won't give up," Damon wanted her to swear to him, he didn't want to lose her.

"I promise," Eira swore.

Eira was broken out of her reverie by the shouting of her name. Someone had their hands on the side of face as they called her name. She looked up, noticing Damon and she assumed they were back with the herbs. She looked away from him as she coughed blood into her hand. Everyone's face held one of horror.

"Okay, whatever we're doing. We need to do it now," Damon stated.

"Get her in the water!" Sophie demanded.

Damon jumped into the pool. He grabbed Eira gently and brought her into the pool, standing on her feet with her arm wrapped around his neck to keep her upright as she leaned against him. Eira was instantly cooled down and she sighed, the complete and utter haze over her eyes went away as she stood in the cold water.

"I don't see how a midnight swim is supposed to help things," Rebekah said.

"Her temperature is sky-high. The water, with the help of the herbs, should cool us down," Sophie explained and handed the cup of herbs to Eira. "Drink this!"

Eira took the cup and drank the herbal concoction. Sophie looked at Damon and said, "You're going to have to get her heart rate down."

"How do you suggest I do that?" Damon questioned with snark as Eira drank all of the herbal concoction and handed the cup back to Sophie.

"Hold her. It's a natural human remedy to slow the heart rate and reduce blood pressure," Sophie answered.

"This is never gonna work," Rebekah commented.

"Kol will get Davina to break this link," Elijah replied. "We just need time."

Damon picked Eira up and held her bridal style in the pool. Eira felt like she couldn't breathe, she was choking for air as her worry got the best of her.

"Eira, deep breaths," Damon tried to calm her. "Now, I know you've been through much worse than this. You'll be okay."

Damon dipped her under the water slightly so she could still breathe. Eira smiled, remembering her hallucinations. She was calming down and her heart rate was slowing.

"You made me promise to keep existing," Eira stated with a smile.

"I'm still holding you to that," Damon stated.

Eira's smile went away as she sat up in Damon's arms, screaming in pain as the time hit midnight, the time that her unborn children were supposed to die.

_____________________

Davina was in the attic room, practicing the spell but she couldn't get it. That was when Kol arrived and he smiled with a worried look in his eyes.

"What?" Davina questioned.

"Things got slightly more complicated. That spell needs to be done by midnight," Kol explained. "Or Eira, Sleeping Beauty, and her unborn children will die."

Davina's face held a look of fear, "I've been practicing all day. I can't get it."

"Davina Claire, you're one of the most powerful witches I've met. I have full faith that you can do this spell," Kol reassured and grabbed the knot on the table. "Just focus."

_____________________

Davina had broken the spell right at midnight and the pain Eira felt went away but she was taking deep breaths. Sophie was looking up, sensing something.

"I just felt it lift," Sophie stated.

Eira got out of Damon's hold and stood up on her own, still breathing heavily. Sophie took her earring and pricked the palm of her hand to see if the link really was broken.

Damon took a hold of Eira's hand, seeing that there was no prick of blood on her hand like Sophie's. The link really was broken. Eira smiled, looking at her hand and Damon smiled as well.

"Come on, let's go," Damon put a hand on her back to guide her from the pool.

Eira slowly got out of the pool in exhaustion and a towel was handed to her by Elijah. She smiled at him in thanks and wrapped it around herself and and he smiled back. She walked away from him, going to Stefan. He put an arm around her and she leaned against him.

"Elijah... as soon as your brother finds out that the link is broken, he'll kill Agnes. I know you don't owe me anything, but please, don't let him kill her," Sophie spoke to Elijah, wanting one last request.

Elijah took his phone out of his jacket pocket, calling Klaus and requesting him not to kill Agnes until he got there. Elijah made a last promise to Sophie, promising that he wouldn't allow his brother to kill Agnes. But Elijah made no promise about himself and he killed Agnes.

Eira had changed out of her wet clothes and into dry ones. She brushed out her wet, tangled white hair. She came out of the bathroom in her room to find Stefan leaning against the doorway of her room.

"You can come in, Stef," Eira said.

"I'm leaving tonight," Stefan said, sadly.

"I don't blame you, Stef. You don't have to be sorry. You and Rebekah can be happy, start a family and if I were you I would want to get out of this city, too. It's not safe with all the dramatic supernatural happenings," Eira spoke her thoughts.

"So you want to leave? Why don't you tell Klaus that?" Stefan questioned, walking into the room.

"He wants this city. I'm not going to ask him to give that up," Eira answered. "I love him."

"Love is sacrifice, Eira. You're having kids with him, now. His only 'want' should be catering to you," Stefan believed, only wanting his sister to have everything.

"You're right, Stef. Love is sacrifice. Mine is living in this city," Eira replied and Stefan sighed.

"I'll come visit you a lot. I promise. Forever, remember?" Stefan stated.

"Forever," Eira smiled and she hugged Stefan. He hugged her right back. "I love you, always, Stef."

"I love you, too, Eira," Stefan smiled and they hugged for a long moment before he pulled away. She sighed this time as he left her, but she was completely happy for him. She knew she would always have Stefan in her life, even if it was just part of the time and she was okay with that.

___________________

Stefan and Rebekah were gone. Eira went in the living room where Damon was, he was drinking alcohol. She smiled at him and he smiled back.

"I guess it's just us two Salvatore's now," Eira stated.

"I bet Stefan will come running right back because he'd be worrying too much," Damon smirked and Eira shook her head.

Eira went over and hugged Damon, surprising him. He hugged her back and she said, "I never thanked you for making me promise to live when I was sixteen. That made me fight. That was the only reason I survived."

Eira pulled away and looked at him intently, "It was because of you, Damon. And I never thanked you for that because I would have never got to experience how happy I am now."

"What are big brothers for?" Damon stayed with a small smirk, still not being quite serious.

Eira shook her head but went along with him, "And I would follow you into Hell."

Damon smiled and their sibling moment got interrupted by a knock on the front door. Damon went to answer it, telling Eira to stay there and stay hidden.

Hayley had come out from another room, hearing the knock and she stayed in the room with Eira. Damon answered the door to find Josh, the newbie vampire that Klaus had under his compulsion.

"Josh, the newbie," Damon started. "You came here, why?"

"Marcel knows that Klaus lied to him about where he lives," Josh replied.

"Good to know. I'll pass on the message," Damon nodded and then said rudely. "Now leave."

Josh left and Damon closed the door, not knowing that Marcel was watching the whole thing. Marcel had figured out during the day that Klaus wasn't staying at the Palace Royale Hotel like he believed him to be. There was only one place in the city that he assumed Klaus would stay at: the old plantation house.

Damon told Eira and Hayley that it was only Josh at the door, a none threat. Hayley and Eira both went outside, they both liked the outdoors. There was another knock on the door and Damon went to answer it, being annoyed.

"I thought I told you to leave. I said it quite rudely, too, to make a point," Damon said, opening the door, thinking it was Josh.

Damon was surprised when he saw Marcel. Marcel smiled and spoke, "I'm Marcel. I don't think we've met."

Damon smiled bitterly, "And I'm Damon. Damon Salvatore and I don't like you."

"There's another one of you?" Marcel asked, referring to the last name Salvatore.

"Oh, there's only one of me," Damon smirked and held up his hand, waggling his fingers towards him in a goodbye gesture. "I'm sure you can find your way back home."

Marcel glared but he nonetheless, left. Once Damon was sure he was gone. He went outside to the back porch to get Eira.

"Eira! You need to get inside right now," Damon called out.

Not a sound was heard was outside. But he felt a presence. A supernatural presence. The wind whipped behind him, and Damon quickly turned. The supernatural being and Damon fought using vampire speed and strength. Damon finally got the upper hand and held whoever it was by their throat.

"Tyler?" he said in surprise at seeing the hybrid.

Damon's surprise made Tyler get the upper hand by grabbing Damon's arm and snapping it in half. As Damon clutched his arm, Tyler grabbed Damon's head and twisted it, snapping his neck. Tyler left and took the two unconscious girls with him, Eira and Hayley.

Klaus had gone to see Camille to tell her that Agnes, the one that was responsible for her twin's descent to madness and eventual death, was dead. Klaus told her simply and Camille had slapped him for killing someone. Klaus had told her out of kindness, the only kindness he knew that Eira had instilled in him to sometimes show, and he was prone to show anger when Camille slapped but he just left and the compulsion he put on her took effect, making her forget what he even said. Klaus left Rousseau's and as he left, Marcel showed up.

"Hey, where you been?" Marcel called out from behind him.

Klaus rolled his eyes in annoyance, just wanting to go to Eira. But Klaus turned around and talked with Marcel.

Marcel smiled, "Not still mad about our tiff the other night, are you?"

"Water under the bridge," Klaus gave a fake smile.

"Cami's all yours if you're interested...," Marcel started but was cut off.

"I'm not," Klaus stated with conviction.

"Well, I stopped by your place earlier. I must have just missed you," Marcel stated.

"Oh, the Palace Royale didn't suit me, I moved on weeks ago," Klaus smirked.

Marcel smiled and shook his head, knowingly, "No, I mean your other place."

"Interesting location to put down your roots, the same plantation where I was a slave. I guess that's why you never invited me over," Marcel continued.

"Well, how rude of me. I'll speak to Elijah. I'm sure he'll be pleased to host you and Davina for the evening! Especially after you were so hospitable to him," Klaus smiled, threateningly.

"Good! I look forward to it," Marcel gave a fake smile and left.

Klaus's look turned into one of worry as he thought about Marcel and the possibility that he found out about Eira.

_____________________

Elijah and Kol walked into the plantation house, noticing the emptiness and quietness. Elijah called out Eira's name and there was no answer. There was no hearts beating in the house. Elijah called Rebekah asking her if she took Eira with her. She said no and Stefan said to ask Damon.

Klaus entered the room where Kol was and Elijah was just about to call Damon and Klaus said, "Marcel was here."

Damon woke up from having his neck snapped. He was all healed and snapped his arm back into place. He got up and cursed, "That hybrid dick!"

He went inside the house where Elijah, Kol, and Klaus were. Klaus looked at him and said, "Where is she?"

"Yeah, we have a problem with her whereabouts."

Author's Note: So, I have real high motivation right now. I plan to finish every episode to episode 9 this weekend.
