Flashback

Her brown hair whipped back as she ran and Stefan was just on her heels. They were both laughing as they ran. They were racing each other to the front of the house where they would await the arrival of Katherine Pierce.

Stefan could easily catch up to her but he let her win. Eira was his twin and if she was happy, then so was he.

They made it to the front of the house and they both took a moment to catch their breaths. Eira was smiling but then she frowned, pouting.

She looked at him,"You let me win."

He smiled and wrapped his arm around her as he looked down at her softly, "Of course, I did. I'll always let you win. You're my twin. Whatever makes you happy."

Eira smiled brightly, hugging Stefan. "You're way too caring, Stef, but thank you."

"Always, Eira," Stefan smiled and kissed her forehead because he knew she hated it.

Eira scrunched up her nose and wiped her forehead, thinking she had germs, "Gross."

Stefan laughed and stepped away from her. They stood side by side smiling as the carriage pulled up with Katherine Pierce, the vampire that would cause so much chaos in her family. Despite a love triangle decided by fate between the gorgeous vampire and her brothers, it was not her brothers that the vampire would come to love the most.

After Katherine arrived, surprisingly, she and Eira got along. They were best friends. Katherine told Eira about the supernatural and even mentioned she was running from some very important people.

One night, the town of Mystic Falls wanted to get rid of the vampires. In that night, Eira's brothers, Stefan and Damon, were shot and died with vampire blood in their system.

But Eira had no idea of any of the chaos that went down in night. It was simply the wrong place at the wrong time when she went to visit her father in his office.

Eira was shocked to find Stefan killing their father by draining every ounce of his blood. Stefan was now a vampire and a very hungry one. Stefan dropped their fathers' body once his blood was gone and now he heard the other heartbeat in the room.

Stefan turned around and he had blood dripping down his chin. He looked at Eira with a crazed, hungry look in his eyes. He stalked closer to her.

"Stefan, stop! Please!" she pleaded but he did not listen to her pleas. He did not listen to the sound of her voice that was so afraid; the voice of the person he loved the most and always wanted to protect. But none of that meant anything; he only felt the hunger that drove him.

She turned to run but when she turned around he was right in front of her. There were veins beneath his eyes that made the white of his eyes red. His chin was dripping with blood, the blood of their father.

She trembled in fright as she backed away from him as he stalked towards her. She was sobbing as she knew there was no escape. She didn't want her life to end this way at the hands of the person she loved the most. It was cruel but maybe all gods were cruel.

She stopped backing away as she knew there was nothing she could do. She looked at him sorrowfully one last time, looking into his monstrous green eyes that were nearly the same color green as hers.

"It's okay, Stefan," she cried. "It's okay."

Stefan lunged at her and his fangs ripped into her neck as she screamed. Her hands tried pushing him away, but he was too strong. Eventually, her own strength faded and her arms fell limp.

She could hardly keep her eyes open, staring at the ceiling instead of her own twin. Her heart slowed and then it stopped as all the blood was drained from her body. Her eyes stilled and no more tears fell.

        She was dead.

Once her blood ran dry, Stefan stopped feeding. He realized what he had done as he shook her lifeless form, "Eira, I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

Stefan started to cry as he kept shaking her, "You have to wake up. You have to. I'm sorry, Eira. You need to hear that so please, wake up."

His lips trembled and he pulled Eira's head onto his lap. His voice was painful and heartbroken, "Eira...no, no. You're not dead. You can't be dead."

There was still no response from her and no breaths left her body. Her skin was so pale and he knew there was no way back from this. He let sobs wrack his body at what he had done.

He immediately wanted to forget but even if he somehow got his mind to forget such a thing, his heart would not. His greatest sin would forever bang against its walls with the guilt and love would form the ache for the twin he killed.
