Chapter Eight | Islands In The Stream

"Oh God! What's burning?" Billy asked, walking into the kitchen to find his mom laughing while Hehewuti looks sad.

"Oh nothing, I was trying to teach Hehewuti how to make your favorite meal, and well she had a little setback." Judith answered as she dumped the pot into the trash.

"Maybe we should stop, I cannot cook and I'll probably end up poisoning, Billy." Hehewuti said.

Billy smiled.

"Don't worry, I can cook for us." Billy said.

She turned to Billy smiling. She quickly raised her arms and hugged him. She stepped back. "I know but I still need to learn for our kids." She said.

"Kids?" Judith asked, squealing.

Hehewuti smiled.

"So we're having kids?" Billy asked, smirking.

"I mean if you want." Hehewuti answered.

"Of course I do." Billy said.

"Hello, I'm Tiffany." Tiffany said as she walked over to me.

I smiled.

"Hello, I'm Hehewuti, I've never seen you here before." I said.

"Oh I'm from the Makah tribe, I'm just down here because Sue invited me to the beach." Tiffany said.

"Oh, is Sue here?" I asked.

"Yeah, she busy kissing Harry over there." Tiffany answered as she points to the couple kissing on the log near the fire.

"Oh wow." I said.

We began walking towards the shoreline.

"So how long have you know Sue?" I asked.

"Almost two years." Tiffany answered.

Tiffany and I talked for a bit.

"Tiffany, I can tell we're going to be good friends." I said, smiling as I felt a connection to her.

"I think so too." She said, smiling.

"Come on let's go pour water on Sue and Harry." I said, giggling as I found an empty bowl.

She laughed as we fill it then run over to Sue and Harry, throwing the water at them before running off with Harry chasing us and Sue yelling at Harry to murder us.

"Billy! Charlie! Save us!" I shouted as I jump onto Billy while Tiffany hides behind Charlie, who is blushing and trying to keep Harry from grabbing her.

"Oh no, let me get her." I said as Billy puts me down and I grab Tiffany's hand pulling her behind me. "Charlie throw Harry into the water." I said as Quil sneaks up behind Harry, going for his legs.

"Harry, watch out!" Sue exclaimed but it was too late.

Charlie and Quil picked up Harry and carried him over to the water and threw him in.

We all laughed as Sue ran into the water to help Harry.

Hehewuti let out a wince.

Billy paused. "What's wrong? Did I hurt you?" He asked.

"I'm fine. You just squeezed my breasts a little too hard." She answered quickly.

"I'm sorry." He said as he placed gentle kisses over her breasts.

"It's fine." She said as Billy stared at her breast.

"You know they've grown a little bit." He said.

"Really?" She asked as she looked down at her chest as she winced, feeling on her breasts." They're a bit tender, maybe my body is evolving to fit my new environment." She added as he kissed her breasts again, then he looked her in the eyes.

He grinned.

"That may be the reason, your body is getting used to being human now." He said.

Hehewuti pulled him in for a kiss.

"Now, let's go meet your parents before your dad walks in on us." She said.

"Do we have to?" He asked, pouting.

She rolled her eyes.

"Yes, this meeting is about your future, Billy." She said.

"Our future." He said, correcting her.

She smiled.

"Yes, our future." She said.

****

"We don't talk often about Hehewuti being the goddess of the earth." William said as everyone looked at me.

I smiled.

"I've been here for over a month so I'm surprised it took you all this long to ask me questions." I said.

"Hehewuti, we have accepted you as our own so you wanted you to be comfortable but we do have questions to ask you." Peter said.

I nodded.

"I understand." I said.

"What is your fatal flaw?" Peter asked.

I frowned.

"Humans have flaws. Gods do not. Fatal is something that gets you killed, after all, and we gods cannot die! Even though I'm currently human does not mean I can easily die but once my father returns my godly status I can not die." I answered.

"How will this affect your relationship with my son?" William asked.

I shrugged.

"I do not know that is up to my father." I answered.

Billy and I make our way across the sand to a beach volleyball net with Charlie, Sue, Tiffany, Harry, and Quil with some girl standing there.

"What is that?" I asked.

"Volleyball... you throw the ball over the net but you can't let it touch the ground." Billy answered.

"Oh." I said.

"Girls vs boys." Harry said.

"Hey, Hehe, this is Joy." Quil said, introducing us.

"Nice to meet you, Joy." I said.

"Nice to meet you, Hehewuti." Joy said.

"Prepare to lose boys." Sue shouted.

"Do you really think you can take me?" Charlie asked Tiffany with a smirk.

"Oh, it is on Swan." Tiffany answered.

"Aren't they cute?" I asked Joy as Tiffany and Charlie start up a fierce game of volleyball as the rest of us joins them.

I mostly watch until I get the hang of it then soon Quil and I are trading points back and forth, but neither of us can get the edge.

Sue serve the ball and Harry dives for it, but doesn't save it and gets covered in sand.

"Harry, get up!" Charlie exclaimed as Tiffany starts laughing and Sue is doing a dance.

"Charlie is very competitive, he would make a good warrior." I said.

"He wants to be a cop." Billy said.

"He would definitely be a good one especially with his tracking ability." I said.

"What?" Billy asked but before I could respond Charlie is shouting.

"Get back in the game you two!" He exclaimed as we step away from each other and join our team.

"This is the game point." Quil said.

Tiffany rolls the ball over to Charlie and he serves the ball and it's coming towards me when I'm pulled into a vision.

White light.

My vision is out of focus.

As my eyes begin to focus, I realizes that I'm lying down, on a bed surrounded by white light. My eyes are continuing to focus and she can just make out a figure at the foot of the bed.

"He's coming, Hehewuti." The figure says.

"Who?" I asked.

"Your father is coming for you." The figure answers.

"I can't leave." I said.

"I'm sorry, little one but you're not might you be mortal. It's time to come home." The figure says.

"No, I cannot leave Billy." I said, crying.

"Yes, you can or else you will destroy the future that Billy is meant to have." The figure said.

"Why? I love him. Of course, his future would change with me involved." I said.

"You must go back now but be prepared for your father to arrive." The figure said.

I come out of my vision, breathing heavily. I blinked once to focus my eyes as everyone look at my in disbelief.

"Hehe, what's wrong?" Billy asked as he sees a petrified look on my face.

"My father is coming for me." I answered.
