Maleficent hated herself for bringing Brier Rose into the mess that her parents made, but what's crazier is that at first she didn't even realise that Briar Rose was the King and Queen's daughter, maybe it's because Briar Rose actually loved living in the woods and she was the kindest person Maleficent had ever met.

Briar Rose was the breath of fresh air that Maleficent needed in her life, and she had to fuck that up by placing a curse on Briar Rose at birth, even though Briar Rose was actually Aurora when Maleficent had cursed her, though it didn't really change the fact that she had cursed Briar Rose, maybe Maleficent should've realised that Briar Rose was too good to be entirely true but that doesn't help Briar Rose wake up from a curse she didn't deserve.

Her stomach was twisting and turning like it never did before, she wanted to throw up, but she couldn't, so Maleficent went to see Petunia, as our dear Petunia here was known for having a level head in these kinds of situations, (though it also kind of helps that Petunia is a mind reader, like literally a mind reader).

Petunia was using a spinning wheel to make a dress when Maleficent found her in her cottage, so she went to go away again as she thought that Petunia was too busy with sewing to hear her dilemma but she was stopped by Petunia before she could even turn around, (that does sound about right for Petunia to do if I'm being honest with you dear reader).

"Don't you even think about going now Jennette-"
"Petunia"
"Yes that's my name, please don't wear it out, anyway I've been expecting you Jennette, so here take a seat"
"Ok"

So Maleficent sat down on one of the many old armchairs that Petunia had in the old cottage, so that she was facing Petunia while talking to about her problems, plus they looked very comfortable to Maleficent, (though wouldn't you if you saw an old comfy armchair to sit on).

"So what brings you to my humble little cottage my dear?"
"Well to be honest, I just feel so guilty about putting Briar Rose under the curse so I could get back at her parents for murdering my Mum Petunia"
"Ah, that's what I thought this was about, so I'm assuming that you know what you need to do?"
"No, what do I need to do?"
"Oh my God"
"What?"
"Are you sure that you don't know what you need to do now my dear?"

Maleficent looked confused about what Petunia was saying to her, but she was in for a surprise, which was something that she should have already known, but we don't judge people's knowledge here.

"Well I wouldn't have asked you if I was sure of what I need to do Petunia"
"Well you need to see if you can break the curse"
"I can't break the curse though Petunia-"
"And why do you think that now my dear?"
"Because Petunia I'm not a boy-"
"Ah ah ah, don't think like that now my dear, you didn't say anything about a boy in your curse"
"Well no I didn't mention that in the curse but-"
"Look here my dear, curses that are cast do not have the same prejudices as humans do unless it's actually been said in the curse, and you didn't say it had to be a boy, so you could fit the bill"

Maleficent sighed in sadness still, as Briar Rose was still under the curse she had put on her and she felt like she couldn't do anything to lift it, (since she had begged and pleaded to undo the curse for Briar Rose with no result).

"How do I even know if she loves even me back though Petunia?"
"She has said it to you my dear"
"Yeah but-"
"You need to go and try, the worst thing that happens then is that it doesn't work for you, alright?"
"Alright Petunia, I'll try to lift the curse, though you should know that I'm not promising anything though"
"(Snorts), I'm glad to hear it Jennette, now come back here and introduce me to her when you have broken the curse my dear"
"I will introduce you to Briar Rose if I actually break the curse Petunia"
"Good, now go and get your girl before you back out of it again"
"I'm going now Petunia"

So Maleficent walks out of Petunia picturesque cottage, she took the biggest breath she had taken since Briar Rose went under the curse she put on her, and she marches her way to the palace to try and set Briar Rose free from the curse, as she felt like she owed Briar Rose that much.
