We all know the age old question:

What's your favorite color?

But here's the thing. I can't answer that. Because each color is different, and they each have their own beauty.

I don't want to choose between them. It's not fair.

Instead, ask me why I love each color.

For example; I love the color orange because it reminds me of my childhood. I had so many pajamas that were orange, and I made so many smoothies that turned into that color, or whenever I drew and mixed and matched colors, it'd end up as orange. Maybe it's because my school field had lots of orange flowers. Orange makes me nostalgic.

I love yellow because it's just so bright and it's hard to be sad in its presence. It reminds me of the sun, of my friends, of my own attitude towards life. It reminds me of sunflowers and narcissus flowers, which are my favorites. It reminds me of a shirt my brother wore which I loved seeing him in. I love yellow because it's also the color of my first school bag.

I love blue because it's my dad's favorite color. I love it because it reminds me so much of him, days in which we matched as we watched soccer matches together even though I didn't like watching sports and would have rathered played it myself... but it was precious, sitting there with my dad and cheering on our team. Blue calms me down.

Gold reminds me of my mom, i remember a dress she always wore around the house as she sang and did her chores when I was a kid. It reminds me of our hair color, a piece of her I'll always have with me and possibly pass onto my own children one day. It reminds me of the hearts of my family, and how they are always there for me.

Point is, each color has its own beauty. I simply cannot choose a single favorite color...not when each color holds a special memory in my mind and heart.

You could say it's the same for people; we can't choose one person as our favorite, because no one is the same. Someone might be your purple, someone might be your red...nonetheless they're all beautiful.

So, it's time I ask...

Why do you love a color?
