Chapter 6: Changes

"So you're the new recruit huh?" I turned to see the source of the voice. It was Natsu. He had longer hair, but otherwise hadn't changed. Gray and Erza weren't far behind him, along with a tall, thin girl with long, blue hair and a white dress. Following them were three flying cats. One blue, one black, and one white.

"Mmm hmm." I nodded.

"Well then... Let's fight!" Natsu yelled. At least you haven't changed.

"Lay off, will ya?" Gray asked Natsu. "She just got here. We don't even know her name yet."

"Well, what is your name?" Erza asked, smiling.

"Tsuki Drakon." I told them.

"That's a pretty name!" This was from the bluenette. "My name is Wendy!" She told me smiling. You on the other hand... The rest introduced themselves to me.

"...and this is Happy, Carla, and Lea." Natsu said, pointing to the blue, white, and black exceeds accordingly. He grinned. Suddenly, he began to sniff the air. Oh no! I thought. I still smell the same!

"You seem awfully familiar." Natsu said looking at me. "Your smell.." He lowered his head. I could feel sadness radiating from him.

"It's similar to Lucy's." At the mention of my name, everyone looked down at their feet.

"Lucy..." Gray said quietly. Lea started tearing up.

"Who is Lucy?" I asked, playing dumb.

"She was a celestial wizard here seven years ago." Erza replied. "She disappeared on her birthday on Galuna island, and the only lead we have on where she is is this." Erza pulled out a dragon scale that seemed to glitter in the light. She then quickly replaced it.

"C'mon guys cheer up!" Happy said, worriedly. "Let's go on a job with Tsuki! Show her how fairy tail works!"

"Good idea Happy." Said Erza, with a sad smile. She turned to me. "So..?"

"Sure, I would love to." I replied. "When do we leave?"

"Tomorrow." Erza said. "For now, let's rest up. I started chuckling nervously.

" Is something wrong?" Wendy asked.

"I just don't have a place to stay yet." Natsu, upon hearing my words, took out a key and laid it in my hand. I recognized as the key to my old apartment.

"Here." He said, smiling. His eyes, however, were filled with sadness."This goes to Lucy's place. We use it for new recruits, since Lucy helped them out by letting them stay with her. Wendy and Carla can show you where it is." With that, Natsu turned and walked away with his hands in his pockets, Happy following him. I looked to Wendy and Carla.

"Well then, let's go!" I said to them smiling. They smiled back.

"Alright." The three of us started walking.

"Poor boy." Carla said, shaking her head. "Natsu just hasn't been same."

"What's wrong?" I asked, although I had a solid guess.

"It's nothing personal." Wendy said, with a sad smile. "We dragonslayers have sharp noses, so we can tell people apart by their scent. You smell like Lucy, and just thinking about her makes Natsu sad. He really misses her." I should tell them. I thought. I looked at Wendy. She walked silently, without saying another word. I sighed and walked on in silence.

We soon arrived at my old apartment. Alright, I thought. Let's do this.

"Can I uhh... Talk to you about something?" I was glad I sounded less nervous than I was.

"Sure." Wendy said. "What is it?"

"Let's go inside." We quickly entered and sat down on my old sofa.

"Listen," I started. "I need to show you something." I pulled out my spirits' Keys and gave them to her. Her eyes widened, and Carla nearly fainted.

"These are Lucy's keys!" Wendy said, shocked.

"They are." I said, nodding.

"But where's Lucy?" Carla asked. "Do you know where she is?" I sighed. Here goes nothing.

"Here," I said, holding out my right hand. "Look at the back of my hand." Their brows scrunched then raised in shock as they noticed the fading symbol.

"B-b-but.." Wendy's eyes started watering. "Lucy!" She yelled, crying. She flung herself at me, holding me tightly. I gave her a sad smile.

"Got it in one." She looked up.

"B-b-but how?" Carla was sitting next to us, shocked. I started to explain...

"And so, I'm back." Wendy's eyes were still red from crying, and Carla still was rigid with shock.

"I'm sorry for deceiving you." I apologized. "I didn't know if you guys would've been mad at me for leaving."

"Of course not!" I was a little taken aback by the steel in Wendy's voice. "But I don't blame you for worrying.." She continued, voice softening.

"When will you tell the others?" Carla asked.

"Tomorrow morning." I replied.

"Good." We sat silently for several minutes until I spoke up again.

"So what has happened at the guild?"

Wendy's eyes lit up.

"Wellll..."

"So let me get this straight, Gajeel and Levy are married now, Lisanna came back from this Edolas place and was never really dead, and Gray and Juvia are dating ?"

"Yep!" Wendy's smile could've split her face in two.

"Huh. I said, smiling. I missed a lot when I was gone. My smile faded. I hope they can forgive me. Wendy stood up.

"Well, I'm going to go home now." She said. Carla followed her.

"Alright, but please don't tell anyone yet."

"No problem." She replied. "Bye...Lucy." I heard the door close behind them. I smiled. I'm home.
