Chapter 14: Yorrick
So, I know I asked for 500, but you guys gave me 600+. You guys, I would say you're awesome, but I would just be repeating myself. I guess I shouldn't be surprised anymore, I suppose, but I still am by how much you enjoy this story. Thank you for supporting it as much as you have. So, since we've hit the goal, tell me things to do!
Will
I stared at the man. He was frowning, and shaking his head. Then he looked up angrily.
"Boy, this has nothing to do with..." He paused looking at me. He suddenly smiled. "Yes.. the resemblance is uncanny."
"What are you blabbering about now!" I yelled. I noticed the girl Ceres, was climbing up the building. That's a problem. I thought. But first things first, I need to deal with this creep.
"Are you not the brother of the celestial dragon slayer?" He asked me.
"Who I am doesn't matter, the only thing that does is that I'm going to beat you!" I could feel scales growing on my body as I entered dragon force.
"That is very disrespectful, boy." He charged.
Ceres
I need to get out of here while I can. I thought. I was nearly at the top of the building now, and Yorrick seemed to be ignoring me. He was instead focused on the young man. I blinked when I heard the bit about the celestial dragon slayer. That would explain why he was able to keep up with me, even though he is only a dragonslayer. I pulled myself over the edge of the building, lying on the roof, panting. I felt the magic power in the alley below me grow, and knew that the two were fighting. I can't just leave him. I thought. He saved my life. I summoned my sword, Eros. It was my natural gift as a dragonborn. This, I thought, running across the roof. Is a terrible idea.
Will
"Damn." I muttered. We had clashed multiple times, and I had only managed to get a few hits in. Meanwhile, my right arm was most likely fractured, along with at least three ribs.
"Getting tired boy?" The man smirked. I could see he was favoring his right side, but at the rate this was going, it wouldn't matter.
"Not at all." I said, Standing straight. I grimaced at the pain elicited from my side. "It's just been a while since I've had a real challenge is all."
"I will say," The man said. "You are quite skilled. Nothing compared to my master, of course, but still impressive."
"And who," I asked. "Might this master of yours be?" He smiled.
"Find out for yourself." He lunged at me.
"Death's grip!" His fist became wrapped in darkness. I easily dodged it, but it was a feint.
"Death's Scythe!" I saw his leg flying towards me, and knew there was no way to dodge.
Suddenly, a flash of blue appeared in front of me, blocking his attack.
"Space Dragon's Roar!" A beam of Pure cosmic energy struck the man in the chest. He flew into a wall nearby. Ceres was standing in front of me, with a short, silver sword.
"Good to see you made it." I said. She turned to me.
"Thanks for your concern, but I can deal with him myself."
"I don't think so child." The man stood shaking. He held a small black orb in his hand. "Let's see how you deal with this!" He yelled.
"Dark Art: Death of a Star!"
Ceres
No! I thought. I had saved him, but not for long. Now I was dead too. That thing can wipe out a city! I didn't bother running, for I would just die tired. The small orb headed towards us, growing in magical power. This is it. The world exploded.
I flew backwards, impacting against a wall. I coughed, and some blood dripped from my mouth. How am I still alive? I looked down the alley. As the smoke cleared, I saw the man that chased me, standing there. He was covered in scales, and even had horns. In front of him was a wall of crystal, that had apparently absorbed the blast. How? I thought. I heard footsteps, and I saw a woman with silver hair running towards me. She ran past, and stood next to the man, legs spread. She shot a burst of magic into the air, which exploded in bright colors.
"You look, different Will." The woman said. The man grimaced. The scales were disappearing, and he was getting progressively shakier.
"Sorry sis." Will said. Sis? I thought. She must be the celestial dragon slayer. Will fell to his knees. "Kick his butt for me will ya?" With that Will passed out.
"Open, gate of the Ram, Aries!" The woman chanted. A strange girl with horns appeared. "Move Will away, and help him and the girl." The woman said. The girl nodded, and picked up Will. She walked over to where I was, and picked me up too. I whimpered, as her grip caused pain to flare throughout my body.
"Sorry." Aries said, as she created a makeshift bed out of wool. She laid both me and Will on it, and began to bandage us. I tried moving, but found the pain too great to great to endure.
"I-I-I need to help her." I said weakly. Aries smiled at me.
"Don't worry, just watch." She finished bandaging us and disappeared in a cloud of gold smoke. I saw the woman again, only she was different. She now had scales on her whole body, and was roaring. She charged Yorrick, who was standing in shock. She hit him in the face with a spell strong enough to level a building. He flew into a wall, and fell to the floor, unconscious. Wow. I thought. I could feel myself losing consciousness. I saw the woman losing her scales, before I fell into the abyss.
I came to sometime later. We were on a train, as I heard the tracks clacking underneath. Odd. I thought. I don't feel sick. Normally, I get extremely motion-sick, but not now. In fact, I felt almost normal. I opened my eyes, and was met with the inside of an empty train car. I sat up, and remembered the fight with Yorrick. I looked down, and noticed that I was wrapped with bandages. How am I even able to move right now?
"Lucy's magic is pretty incredible, isn't it." I turned quickly, to see the man, HIs name was Will, leaning on the door. He was also bandaged, but was grinning.
"Where are we?" I asked.
"On a train to Magnolia." He answered, I opened my mouth, but he raised his hand. "I'm sure you have lots of questions." He said. "It will be easier to explain with the others." He held out his hand. I looked at it for a few seconds. I took it.
We walked towards the back of the train, passing other passengers. We kept walking, until we reached the end of the train. There, the woman from before sat at a table. She was leaning on a man with salmon colored hair. Across from her sat someone else, but I could not see him, as he had his hood raised. The woman, upon seeing us, quickly stood up, and walked over.
"I'm glad to see you're okay!" She smiled. I was suddenly wrapped in a hug. The woman released me after a moment.
"Alright Lucy, that's enough." Will said from behind me. Lucy nodded.
"We need to ask you some questions." She said seriously.
Lucy
The girl nodded. I beckoned to an empty table, and she sat down at it. She really does look a lot like Jellal, even if she didn't have the tattoo. I sat down across from her, and Will stood next to me.
"So," I started. "What is your name?"
"Ceres." The girl responded.
"It's good to meet you, Ceres." I smiled. "My name is Lucy. You already met Will." I pointed to Natsu, who was walking towards us. "This is Natsu. He is the fire dragonslayer."
Natsu waved.
"Will told me how you went toe to toe with him. I haven't got a chance to fight him yet, but Lucy tells me he's strong, and I trust her." Natsu grinned.
"Thanks." Ceres said shyly. "Why am I here?" She asked, nervously.
"We need your help." I said. "We are trying to take down Dark Moon. You told Will that you used to be a part of that guild, right?" Ceres nodded.
"So you want me to tell you about them?" She asked. She was quick. I nodded. "Well, first I have some questions." I nodded again.
"We'll answer them the best that we can." I said. She nodded.
"One, why am I not sick?"
"Lucy knows how to make a motion-sickness potion." Natsu answered. "We all got some before we got on."
"Alright." She replied. "Two, are you the celestial dragon slayer?" She asked me. I nodded.
"I am. I also am a dragonborn, like you. Talking about that, what is your gift?" I replied. Ceres sighed. A sword started materializing in her hand. When it fully appeared, it was silver, with small rubies in the hilt.
"This is the sword eros." She said, displaying the sword. "It increases my powers, and allows me to use my most powerful spells." The sword disappeared again. "What about you?" I grinned, and teleported beside her.
"I have the ability to teleport." I explained, making her jump. I teleported back to the other side of the table still grinning. "It's quite useful." Ceres laughed.
"I can imagine." She said. She then turned serious again. "My third question is this; who is that?" She pointed at Jellal.
Ceres
The man had been staring at me creepily for a while now, but I could only see the left side of his face. He looked familiar.
"I'll let him explain that." Lucy said. The man didn't move, but started talking.
"Where did you get that tattoo?" He asked. I was surprised.
"I don't remember." I told him. "I've had it for as long as I can remember."
"Where is your family?" He asked then. I thought I saw a tear cross his cheek just then. I started to tear up too.
"Dead." I replied. Natsu and Will started looking somber, and Lucy covered her mouth in horror. "They died long ago. When I was little, I had started to show my powers. A dark guild wanted my powers for themselves, so they killed my parents, and sported me away to become their superweapon. Eventually, they were absorbed into Dark Moon, and I became their tool."
"So you are an only child?" The last man asked.
"No." I replied, shaking my head. "I have an older brother as well. I never met him though. He was kidnapped by a cult some time before I was born." The man was full out crying now. I walked towards him, reaching out.
"One last question." He said flatly, motioning for me to stop. "What is your last name." I stopped.
"Fernandez." The man turned, and lowered his hood. His hair was blue, like mine, and he had the same tattoo as me across his eye. He hugged me tightly.
"Hello, sister."
