Homework

                                                                                             Homework

A new assignment,

Like a pile of corpses,

That spreads distaste and disgust,

One look of it is all it takes,

to make my tummy ache,

Nevertheless, what can I do except to accept my fate.

But why, what did I ever do in my past life for this to befall me,Dear Mr. Murali,

why la, slam poetry,

I don't mean to whine and complain, but sir, please, I've had enough,

Outlines here, outlines there, when will I ever be able to sleep, without risking facing despair.

But I guess at the end of the day,

the homework you give us is somewhat fun and makes us gay.

No, don't get me wrong, you didn't mishear me,

I did say gay, but not that gay, I meant gay gay,

The term that means bright and cheerful.

It's your homework that gets us to think when we're half-asleep,

And it's your homework that let's us write expressive things like this.

Well anyway, I think I've stalled enough for me to finish this speech,

3 minutes at least is what I'd like to hear

So here, I will, take the bow that I deserve.

Thank you Mr Murali, I hope you're happy

Homework,Like piles of dirty laundry,

Waiting for me to dry,

With anger, fear, sadness and stress,

Making me a damsel in distress.

 Oh why all our lecturers,

Why la did you give us so much homework?

It makes us feel the burden,

With it the pain of our youth.

While I think I am grateful for homework,

With a lot of pain, anger and stress,

I still hope to understand,

Why give us lots of homework?

Homework,

Making the generation of youths suffer,

 Making youths bear huge burdens,

That never seems to cease,

So why give us lots of homework,

When we could apply the concepts taught to our own work,

 In real life?
