Roomates AU 1
AU includes: Roomates, Undercover Girl, super mild Enemies to lovers
Chapter One:
Ebony Veeraunt stepped out of the taxi in front of a tall apartment building. This is where she would be staying for the next few weeks to work on a new album with JYP's Stray Kids in Seoul, Korea.
She pulled her hood onto her head, some dark sunglasses and a black face mask. Ebony knew that she looked sketchy and out of place in this obviously rich neighborhood wearing an all black oversized hoodie and sweatpants, but she didn't want anyone to discover her true identity
As much as she loved to make music, she didn't like the fame and attention associated with it. That is why Ebony had her alter ego, Veebo.
Veebo was a genderless musician that wrote and sang (with an obviously electronically altered voice) wore basically what Ebony had on now, but instead of sunglasses and a face mask, they wore a plastic green frog costume mask. This way, nothing could be traced back to Ebony, and she could live peacefully.
Ebony grabbed her suitcase and her backpack out of the trunk and walked inside the building. The email she received from JYP said someone would meet her in the lobby at 3 p.m. It was now 2:58 p.m.
Immediately when she walked in, Ebony was greeted by a man in a fancy suit, holding a sign that had VEEBO in all capital letters displayed across it.
Ebony didn't speak, but she reached into her backpack and showed the man her frog mask.
He put the sign down and handed her a business card.
"My name is Kim Namsu, Assistant Manager for Stray Kids." The man spoke fairly well in English. "Please feel free to contact me if you need anything. Let me show you where you will be staying."
Ebony nodded her head and followed him to the elevator. She was a bit shocked when he hit the P, followed by a security code that was presumably for penthouse. She had assumed that the company would house her somewhere nice, but an entire penthouse was a bit over the top.
After a few minutes of awkward silence, the doors opened up to reveal a beautiful living room with marble floors and a high ceiling.the room was decorated with black leather furniture and a huge flat screen TV.
But that wasn't what stopped Ebony in her tracks.
In front of her were eight familiar, very good-looking guys, all wearing comfort clothes sprawled out on the couches.
It didn't take a genius to realize they all more than likely lived here and that she was more than likely going to be staying there with them.
And that is what shocked her. Ebony was going to be rooming with Stray Kids.
Chapter 2:
Ebony closed her eyes. She had to be dreaming, right? Stuff like this only happened in movies and crudely written fanfictions.
Ebony was a fan of Stray Kids and knew she would have to meet them eventually, but she didn't want to stay with them!
"Whoa!" A chorus of voices spoke, causing Ebony to open her eyes. All the members were now gathered around her.
"It's Veebo!" Han cheered in awe.
Ebony waved at him awkwardly, a mix of nervousness, shock, and shyness overcoming her.
"My apologies for not mentioning anything previously, but there was a sudden change in your living arragements," Kim Namsu spoke. "The boys wanted to get to know you better while you all worked on the songs and suggested this. I believe everyone already knows each other, but I recommend going through with formal introductions anyway."
Namsu left, and all the members began to introduce themselves from right to left, giving a slight bow of the head after they each spoke in English.
"Hello, I am Han Jisung!"
"I am Kim Seungmin. Nice to meet you."
Hello, I'm Lee Know."
"I am Changbin."
"Hello, I'm Hwang Hyunjin."
"Hi, I am Lee Felix. It is a pleasure to meet you. "
"I am I.N., but you can call me Jeongin if you prefer."
"And I am Bang Chan. We are happy to have you here."
There was a moment of silence before Ebony realized it was her turn to introduce herself.
"Veebo," she spoke quietly and softly but tried to make her voice a little deeper. It was way too late now to come out as a girl, and she was going to try her hardest not to be discovered, and that meant talking only when absolutely necessary.
"You are so cool!" Han said excitedly, not even bothering to breathe in between words. "I have been a huge fan since the beginning. I love all your songs!"
"Likewise," Ebony mummbled, but she was smiling under her mask.
She had only read such words through comments online. As Veebo, she never made any public appearances, and although she has written many songs for many famous people, this is not only her first time working with, but also meeting them. It was nice hearing Han's praises and they made her feel warm and fuzzy.
"We are all fans and are very excited to be working with you," Felix said with a smile that made her knees go a bit weak.
Ebony wouldn't say she's their number one fan or anything, but she considers herself a Stay, and Felix was her bias, and meeting him in real life just confirmed it even more.
"Uhm.... As you are staying with us, feel free to take your mask and whatnot off," Chan spoke. "I feel like it would be uncomfortable to wear all of that all the time. I promise none of us will blow your cover or anything."
All of the guys nodded in agreement.
If Ebony was actually a guy, she would have thrown off her disguise in a heartbeat. Aside from the sweats and hoodies, everything really was uncomfortable to wear for more than five minutes.
Maybe if she did, she would get moved to a different place to stay, but a part of her was excited to be staying with the boys and didn't want to leave.
Then she realized how wrong it was for her to even think that. Tricking them like that would be an awful thing to do. Not to mention, if anything got leaked about it, Stays would murder her faster than she could apologize.
She should just say she would prefer to stay elsewhere. But what if that hurt their feelings?
"What if I take your sunglasses and mask off for you," Han asked before Ebony could respond, reaching torward her face eagerly.
Ebony jumped back and dug into the pocket of her suitcase before pulling out a lanyard that had pepper spray at the end of it.
"You can try," She warned but was surprised by her own voice. She spoke loudly this time, forgetting to mask it, just a natural reaction. On the bright side, it was hoarse from barely talking the past few days, and it only sounded slightly feminine to her own ears.
And then Ebony realized two things. She just threatened someone she was going to be working with for a while, and the other that she ruined her opportunity to come clean about everything.
"Challenge accepted!" Han replied, giving her a thumbs up. "This is going to be fun."
"Oh boy," Changbin muttered, eyeing his fellow band mate worried.
At least I didn't offend him, Ebony thought, relieved. She put the lanyard around her neck, though. Now that she couldn't tell them the truth, it was better to be safe than sorry
"Since we have an extra unused bed in our room, you'll be staying with me and Minho," Jeongin spoke, beckoning Ebony over. "I'll show you where it's at."
Ebony followed the youngest member without another word, her backpack and suitcase in tow.
Jeongin walked down a long hallway to the very end and opened up the last door on the right.
The room it's self was pretty big, but fairly plain with white walls, carpeted brown flooring, a single bed and a bunk, three closets, and another door that was open revealing a bathroom.
"I sleep on the single bed, Minho sleeps on the bottom of the bunk bed, so you can have the top, if that's okay with you."
Ebony nodded her head.
"This is your closet, and we share the bathroom. We are going to order some takeout in like an hour, but you can wash up and unpack your things. Someone will come get you when the food is here."
Again, she nodded her head to show that she understood. There was an awkward silence before Jeongin gave her a small smile and left the room.
Immediately, Ebony ripped off her mask and sunglasses. She was happy to have a moment to herself. She put her suitcase in the closet Jeongin said was hers, not bothering to unpack it.
Ebony planned on going out as a girl when she wasn't working with the guys, and actually got to experience and see Seoul, so she had plenty of girl clothes in her suitcase.
If one of the guys opened up the closet and saw girl clothes, her cover would be blown. Ebony did, however, grab a fresh pair of underwear and sweatpants and a hoodie and her shower supplies before going into the bathroom.
The bathroom was about half the size of the bedroom with a huge clawfoot bath tub and a walk-in glass shower that had two shower heads. There was also a toilet, sink, and three vanities. A rack of fluffy towels was placed between the shower and bathtub.
Ebony put her things on the empty vanity and stripped out of her clothes. She turned on the shower and hopped in once the water was up to temp.
She stayed in the shower until the water ran cold. It was nice after a long flight to take a long hot shower.
Once she got out, she grabbed a towel and wrapped it around herself. Ebony began putting her shoulder-length hair into a bunch of small braids. Her hair was naturally very fine and curly. If she was going to be constantly wearing a hoodie, she would have to keep her wet hair like that in order to maintain the frizz.
After doing all the small braids, she put them into three normal size braids and reached for her clothes.
Ebony then discovered that her underwear and sports bra were not there.
"Oh no," Ebony cried out as she looked around the bathroom. They weren't in here. That means she dropped them somewhere in the bedroom.
And it had to be long past an hour after her shower and hair braiding. Someone was bound to come in any moment.
Ebony cracked open the bathroom door and peered into the bedroom.
Thankfully, the bedroom door was still shut, and she spotted her underwear right in front of the closet, about six feet away.
She could bolt there in back in just a few seconds. And she went to do just that.
However, as Ebony reached down to pick up the clothing, the door burst open, and Seungmin walked into the room, causing her to freeze in place.
"Hey, I hope you like chicken, the food is..." Seungmin's voice trailed off when his eyes met Ebony's.
Ebony wasn't the most girly looking. Sure, she had softer features, but had Seungmin only seen her face, she could have convinced him that she was a 15 year old boy with long hair.
However, she only had a towel around her that hugged wide hips, and the way she was bent revealed a lot of cleavage. Although her boobs could hardly be described as big, they were still c cups and definitely proof enough that she was a girl.
And the look on Seungmin's face proved that he knew.
Chapter 3:
"The door!" Ebony managed to squeak as she shut her eyes, trying to pretend she was non-existent. This was so embarrassing.
"Sorry! Sorry..." Seungmin shut the door, but he didn't leave the room. Instead, he walked over to the overly embarrassed girl and crouched down next to her.
"Open your eyes," He said to her. Ebony did as ordered and was met by kind, understanding eyes. "Go change, I'll make sure no one comes in, okay? Come out when you're ready."
"Okay," Ebony replied quietly.
Seungmin nodded his head and left the room, sparring her a reasuring smile. Ebony, however, was not reassured and still in shock.
He wasn't going to tell the others, was he? She didn't think so, but there was always a chance. Also, Seungmin had seen her basically naked. And that was so incredibly embarrassing. She had no idea how to recover from that.
Ebony was the youngest of five girls, and her father died when she was two. She went to an all girl's school for education, and because of the money she made as Veebo, she never went to college and never had to work.
Today was probably the most interaction she had ever had with any guy in her entire life. Why did she think this was a good idea?
After a few more moments of not moving, Ebony finally finished dressing herself. She toyed with the idea of just crawling into her bunk and pretending she didn't exist, but her growling stomach pushed her to open the bedroom door and walk out. She pulled on her hood, the face mask, and then the sunglasses nervously.
All eight guys could be heard laughing and talking, so it was easy for Ebony to find the dining room.
She peered around a corner to see all the guys eating fried chicken and a bunch of side dishes she didn't really recognize. No one seemed to notice her.
"I really want to work with them, but they hardly talk,"Jeongin spoke. "It's probably going to be difficult."
"I don't care. Aren't you curious as to what they look like,"Han asked. "I'm Veebo's biggest fan, and I am dying from the suspense!"
"Yeah, I'm curious too. I'm also excited to hear their real voice," Bang Chan piqued in.
"We can't even see their face. What makes you think they're going to sing in front of us? People have tried to break down the voice to find the original sound, but no one's succeeded yet," Lee Know, scoffed.
"It's still interesting to think about it,"Hyunjin defended with a supporting nod from Changbin.
"How about we leave the topic for now," Seungmin suggested with a nervous chuckle. The members gave him a weird look.
"Is there something we should know," Felix asked him as if knowing Seungmin had a secret from them.
"What-no!"
"He's guilty," Han pointed at Seungmin standing up.
"Spill it," Hyunjin ordered.
Ebony decided now to fully step in the room and be noticed. Had she let it play out longer. Her secret would most definitely be revealed.
Everyone stopped harassing Seungmin and turned their attention on her.
"Sorry if I will be difficult to work with," she mummbled before walking over to an empty spot next to Changbin.
No one spoke as she grabbed a paper plate and put food on it.
Ebony lifted her mask just above her lips, folding it in so that she could eat a little more comfortably.
"Please don't stare," she mummbled again, feeling their gazes penetrating her. There was a chorus of sorrys as everyone ate in silence.
Ebony felt guilty and awkward with how she had caused such a huge shift in the mood. She was such a buzzkill. It was honestly a bit depressing.
After everyone finished eating, Seungmin offered to clean, and the rest all kind of dissipated off to other rooms.
Ebony helped Seungmin clear plates and put away leftovers, wondering if she should thank him, apologize, both, or just stay mute.
"Th-thank you," Ebony said softly, not bothering to attempt masking her voice. He already knew, and it wasn't worth the effort. Seungmin raised an eyebrow as if asking why she was thanking him. Ebony decided to try again. "Thank you for not telling the others that I am a girl."
Seungmin shrugged his shoulders. "It's not my place to say anything, and I can understand why you would be a bit uncomfortable unveiling all of that now."
Ebony let out a sigh of relief. Thankfully, Seungmin was a very kind person.
After a little bit, they went their separate ways, and Ebony found herself out in the living room, where only Changbin sat at the coffee table, shuffling a deck of cards. The others must be off in their rooms or something.
Changbin looked up as Ebony walked into the room, and she gave a small bow of the head as a greeting.
She really didn't want to be cold and distant, but wasn't sure how to be friendly in this sort of situation.
"Wanna play?"
Ebony blinked in surprise but nodded her head and walked to the coffee table, taking a seat on the floor across from him. She had not expected an invite.
"War?"
She nodded her head again, happy the game didn't require her to speak. She loved playing War with her sisters and always got super competitive.
Ebony and Changbin played for a while, and she even managed to make him laugh when she smaked the table in frustration after he won three wars in a row, stealing all her Aces.
After losing 5 games straight, Ebony decided to quit.
"How," She asked, forgetting her rule to only speak when necessary. "This is a game of luck."
Changbin laughed again. "Guess I'm just lucky!"
"Goodnight," Ebony said, rather pompously in her mummbled voice as she got up to go to her room.
This made Changbin laugh as he called out goodnight to her afterward. He thought Veebo was funny and was happy to be working with them despite the others' previous worries at dinner.
Ebony entered her shared room and immediately went into shock for the third time this day.
It was her first time seeing a naked man.
Chapter 4:
Lee Know had walked out of the bathroom, butt naked, as she entered the bedroom.
Immediately, Ebony reached up to cover her eyes. Thankfully, 99 percent of her face was covered. Otherwise, her burning red face would have betrayed her.
"I sleep naked," Lee Know stated. "Is that a problem?"
Ebony shook her head no, but refused to move her hands from her face.
"Just put on some underwear. You're obviously making them uncomfortable," Jeongin said.
Ebony tried walking forward to her bunk, using memory as guidance, because she didn't dare remove her hands from her eyes.
Bang!
"Ow," Ebony whisper cried as her head bounced off the upper bunks frame and tripped onto the floor. Today wasn't a good day at all. Tears started to well up, not from pain, but stress at this point.
"Whoa, are you okay," Jeongin asked, coming over to her.
"Mmhmm,"she replied, talking his extended hand to help her up, but mentally starting to dig her own grave.
Lee Know said something in Korean behind them and chuckled. He switched to English and said, "I didn't take you as the dramatic type," and laughed some more.
Ebony crawled up to the top bunk and didn't didn't dare spare a glance behind her or offer either boy a good night. She was way too embarrassed now.
Once she was under the safety of the blankets, Ebony took off the sunglasses and face mask and glued her eyes shut, hoping sleep would save her soon.
Instead one of the other two shut off the lights and crawled into their beds, and Ebony's mind was filled with unholy thoughts of the naked boy below her, causing her face to burn red and heart to beat loudly.
Eventually, sleep had overtaken her, though, because when Ebony opened her eyes, sunlight poured into the room.
She turned and peered from under the covers to look around the room. Jeongin's bed was empty and made, the bathroom door was open with the light off, so Ebony decided to risk a look below her and was relieved to see Lee Know's bed also made and empty.
She crawled out of bed and got herself ready for the day, having way more care than last night. Maybe she would be lucky and everyone would be gone and she could walk around without the sunglasses and mask.
When she left the room and entered the living room, she was met by Hyunjin.
"Good morning," he smiled.
Ebony mummbled back the greeting, looking around to see if anyone else was here.
"Everyone is busy today, but I'm going to bring you around the neighborhood and show you around," Hyunjin spoke, as though reading her mind.
Ebony nodded her head and followed Hyunjin to the elevator. They rode down and exited the building in silence.
The two walked out onto the sidewalk and were immediately swept into the crowd.
Instinctive Ebony reached out and grabbed the fabric on the back of Hyunjins shirt so she wouldn't lose him.
Hyunjin stood still and looked down at her with a chuckle. "Whoa. You are so cute!"
Ebony blushed. Although she knew he didn't mean it that way, this was the first time a guy had called her cute.
Hyunjin showed her the recording studio next door, lots of good places to eat, a pharmacy, a store and a few other places, before the went back to the studio to meet up with the others.
Chapter 5:
When they got to the studio, they went to a break room, where a bunch of food was set on the table. Changbin and Bang Chan were already there digging in.
Ebony and Hyunjin joined them, and shortly afterward, Felix came in.
He smiled warmly at Ebony, cause her to blush and her tummy to flip. It seemed she had developed a sort of crush on her bias.
"Annyeonghaseyo, "Han said when he entered the room, moving to give each member a hug from behind. He didn't even hesitate to give Ebony one, and she had no time to react.
She tried to fold her body inward to make her chest smaller. The hoodie covered her figure, but a tight hug would reveal a squishy chest that most guys did not have.
And she knew that Han felt it when he suddenly became rigid for a moment before letting go and moving on to someone else, sparing her a curious side glance.
She pretended not to notice while trying to think of a logical excuse for later.
Seungmin, Jeongin, and Lee Know all came in a few moments afterward, and Chan stood up to speak to everyone.
"The next two weeks, we will be writing five songs and making a music video for two of them the two weeks following that, and finish with a photoshoot for the album. Let's work hard!"
Everyone nodded in agreement, and after we finished our food, they made their way upstairs to a room filled with instruments, a computer, and other things. It seemed mostly like an area for brainstorming, their current stage of mind.
Everyone sat around on chairs, thinking of ideas and themes for the album.
Ebony picked up an acoustic guitar and sat down as far into a corner as possible, listening to their ideas while periodically plucking chords.
Ideas were tossed and turned around, and they even formed a few different melodies by 9 p.m.
After that point, everyone began to leave. Only Han and Ebony stayed behind.
"You are a girl, right? You can take off the mask if you want," Han spoke after everyone else was gone.
Ebony took off the sunglasses, mask, and pushed back her hoodie. It was pointless trying to hide it from him. Also, with Seungmin practically avoiding her, it would be nice to have at least one other person who knows.
"Yeah," she responded, looking at the ground.
"Whoa! That's so cool! I'm the only one who knows this, right?"
"Actually, Seungmin discovered it last night."
"Oh..." Han's smile turned into the frown. "But I'm your number one fan."
"My real name is Ebony," She offered. "You're the only one who knows that."
He was smiling, and then it dropped again. Ebony gave him a confused look.
"Not anymore," Han said, pointing at the door behind her, sadly.
Ebony turned and said Changbin and Bang Chan, standing at the open door, mouths wide open.
"Uh...," Changbin started to say.
"We won't say anything," Bang Chan assured her.
Ebony froze in place. What was the point of keeping the secret now? Half of the members knew.
"It doesn't really matter now," she muttered. "Seungmin knows too."
"No! Keep it a secret. It's fun being the only ones that know," Han immediately suggested.
"Sure," Changbin and Chan chuckled, while Ebony shrugged, because at this point it would only be a matter of time before the others found out too.
"But can someone tell Lee Know to wear pants to bed? Please," Ebony asked. Not wanting a repeat of last time.
"I gotchu," Han replied, standing up and giving the girl a small side hug before exiting the room with a big smile on his face.
"You can't just hug her now. She's a girl," Chan called out after Han, following him out the door.
"I-it's okay," Ebony called out after them. Just because she was outed as a girl didn't mean they needed to treat her differently.
"C'mon. Let's go," Changbin said, beckoning her towards the door. She got up and put on her disguise as she followed him out the door.
They made small talk on their way back, and Ebony was glad to have a friend to actually talk to. It was less lonely and eased her nerves a bit.
Chapter 6:
When she got back to her shared room, Ebony was glad to see Lee Know in a part of pajama pants. Thankfully, Han had stayed true to his word, and she wouldn't have to deal with last night's ordeal again.
"You could have spoken to me directly. You didn't need to make Han and Bang Chan harass me. I don't bite," Lee Know said to Ebony.
Ebony bit her cheek and didn't say anything. Instead, he just took some clothes out of the closet and made her way into the bathroom, where she relaxed for a while in the bathtub before going to bed.
The next two weeks, Ebony worked hard with the guys. Seungmin mostly avoided her, but she became very close with Han, Chan, and Changbin. Especially Changbin as the two had a lot in common.
Han always gave her hugs, and despite Chan's yelling at him to stop, Ebony didn't mind. As the youngest child, she always was showered with hugs and attention, and Han gave off the same vibe as her family, making her feel more comfortable and at home.
She mostly avoided Felix, as she seemingly had a crush on her bias and couldn't even try to converse with him, even while working, and Lee knew because she felt that he hated her. Hyunjin and Jeongin usually kept a respectful distance from her.
They finally finished their songs a day before the deadline, so she would have a free day tomorrow
She had been waiting for this day for a while now.
The boys' schedule was packed with interviews, photoshoots, and a fan signing event and were not expected home until late that night which meant Ebony could dress up as a girl and wander around Seoul like a normal tourist.
Ebony dug through her bag until she pulled out a light pink dress and a white tee shirt to wear underneath. She paired that with some white converse and put her hair into a half ponytail. It was a simple but cute look, and Ebony was happy to look more girly for once.
She grabbed a small black cross body bag for her phone, wallet, and some clear lipgloss before going out and enjoying the day.
She spent hours traveling around and visiting many shops and food stands. Once it hit 6 p.m. Ebony figured it was about time head back and made her way to wave down a taxi, but was approached by a group of guys.
"Annyeonghaseyo, " one of the guys spoke. There were five of them, all seemingly around her age. "Do you speak Korean?"
"Ah, hi," Ebony responded shyly. She was not used to being approached by guys and was mildly intimidated. "Not very good."
"That's okay, I speak English very well. My name is Jeong Doseok. What is yours?"
"Uhm...Ebony."
"Ah, Ebony! That's a cute name for a cute girl," Dosoek cheered, and his friends all chorused their agreement.
Ebony blushed. This was the first time a guy had flirted with her, and she was unsure of what to do.
"Where is a pretty girl like you going all alone," Doseok asked.
"Home," she managed to squeak out. All the compliments were making her feel flustered.
"Ah, come get a drink with us," Doseok suggested.
"Yes, we show you nice time in Korea," one of the friends added.
"I....I don't know," Ebony replied, suddenly nervous. She didn't really feel comfortable drinking with these men, but she didn't want to be rude. "I need to be home soon."
"You have time for one drink," Doseok insisted, wrapping an arm around her shoulder and pushing her to walk with him towards a nearby bar. And against her better judgment, Ebony let him.
"Naneun oneul bam neomu nuwoissda (I'm so getting laid tonight)," Doseok chuckled in Korean, and his buddies snickered with him.
"Nado chalyeleul boja (let me have a turn too!)," one of the other guys hollered, leaving Ebony very confused.
Once they got in the bar, the group of guys immediately ordered a round of drinks and pressured Ebony to have plenty as well. She was never good against peer pressure and was easily swayed to drink glass after glass.
The alcohol calmed her nerves, and it wasn't long until she was fairly wasted, making her forget what a bad idea this actually was
However, when Doseok slipped his hand up her dress a little bit and gave a squeeze, it made Ebony temporarily sober up a bit by the sheer panic that shot through her body. Nobody had touched her like that, and Doseok made her incredibly uncomfortable.
She shot up into a standing position, practically shouting, "Bathroom!"
She made her way to the bathroom very fastly, letting the guys' laughter fade as the bathroom door shut.
Her hands were trembling as she dug her phone out of the bag. She didn't know if it was from alcohol or fear, but honestly, it was probably both.
Thankfully, she had traded numbers with all the members for work purposes, and Ebony hoped she could get ahold of one of them to come get her.
She tried calling Changbin, but the words on the phone screen blended together into an unintelligible language.
After a few drunken button smashes, she managed to dial somebody's number and was instantly relieved at the confused, "Hello?" On the other end.
"I-I'm sa-sa-so scared," She whispered, shouting into the phone, trying to focus on the words she was speaking.
"Veebo? Are you drunk," The person on the phone asked, still confused.
"Ya-yes. Pa-please save me. I'm sa-so scared."
"Wha-where-how, what's going on?"
"Th-the man th-that brought me ha-here put their hand up my dress and now I'm hiding in the bathroom. Save me Changbin."
"I'm not - wait, what? What bar? Are you okay?"
"I don't know."
"Can you share your location?"
"Okay," Ebony button smashed some more and, after a moment, was able to share a live location with whom she assumed was Changbin.
"Okay, I'm three minutes away. Stay on the phone and do not leave the bathroom until I get there. Understand?"
"Yes," Ebony spoke, suddenly so relieved. There were only three more minutes, and she would be okay.
"Yah, come out! Can't hide in there from us." Doseok yelled, pounding on the door.
"Don't answer him," the voice from the phone spoke. "I'm walking into the bar now. Open the door only when I tell you, too."
She nodded her head, forgetting that he couldn't see her.
"Byeongsin-eul umjig-yeo (Move asshole)," a familiar voice spoke from outside the door and the phone at the same time.
"Neo nuguya(Who the fuck are you?)," Doseok demanded. However he apparently moved, because the voice ignored him and told her to open the door.
Ebony got up unlocked the door and looked up at the person infront of her.
Chapter 7:
Although she was drunk and he wore a baseball cap and face mask, Ebony immediately knew that it was Lee Know infront of her.
Completely sober, he would be the last person she would want to come get her, but in her drunken state she immediately ran into his arms and hugged him. Silent tears poured out from her eyes, finally feeling safe.
Lee Know wrapped his arms around her protectively and sent a chilling glare Doseoks way.
The other guy instantly backed down and Lee Know carefully guided Ebony outside and a few blocks away, where they ended up sitting on a bench.
"It's okay now," he whispered to her, rather endearingly, taking one hand to cup her chin upwards, and using the other to wipe away her tears.
Lee Know had been surprised to recieve a call from Veebo, and even more surprised that Veebo was a girl.
However he was glad to be her savior. It was difficult to peice together how to save her but after how cold he had been to her, and flashing his naked body at her (the thought just now occuring to him) this was the least he could do.
It was now the golden hour and Lee Know found it hard to look away from her gaze as they sat there silently gazing at each other.
"Thank you, Lee-lee," Ebony whispered after a while.
Lee know's heart seemed to melt in that moment. The way she spoke to him and the sparkling glow in her eyes set the butterflies in his stomach ablaze and filled his thoughts with shameless fantasies.
He looked away, his burning red ears giving away his otherwise cool aura.
Ebony, still drunk, wrapped her arms around him again, in a warm hug, resting her head on his chest.
"Even though you're mean to me, I still like you," she spoke quietly. "I'm happy now."
Lee Know involuntarily wrapped his arms around her, his heart racing. He wasn't sure what to do. No one had this affect on him before.
They stayed like that for a long time. Long enough for Ebony to doze off and wake up a little more sober, and then horrified.
"I am so sorry," Ebony said, suddenly pulling away and standing up. "Please don't hate me."
"I don't hate you," Lee Know said quietly, also standing up. He took his fingers and brushed the hair away from her face gently, allowing his hand to rest upon her neck right behind her ear.
Ebony's heart skipped a beat at the sudden touch against her face. Lee Know's touch was warm, welcome, comforting, and safe. She wanted more, but pulled away. She had just gotten out of a sketchy situation and was still drunk. She didn't want to do anything she would regret in the morning.
"Let's go home," Lee Know spoke softly, grabbing her hand. He waved for a taxi and the got in, neither letting go.
The ride back was silent, but but not uncomfortable. It was more awkward, a certain tension filling the air that neither person was familiar with.
When they arrived, nobody was home yet, and they headed to their room without a word.
Ebony ended up taking a cold shower, completely waking her into full sobriety.
"How are you feeling," Lee Know asked after she came back into the bedroom. He had changed into pajamas while she was in the shower.
"I'm okay," she replied, putting her hand on the ladder to the top bunk. She wanted to go and die of embarrassment.
Lee Know grabbed a small amount of fabric from the bottom of her shirt and gave a slight tug.
"You can sleep on the bottom," he gazed at her rather shyly. "It might make you dizzy to climb up."
"I-its okay," Ebony responded, looking away, her face starting to blush. Why did he have to look so sweet and attractive now? She pushed the thought to the back of her mind and started to climb up the ladder.
She felt Lee Know stand behind her, but couldn't find the courage to look back at him. When she got to the top, she risked a look in his direction, and their gazes locked. Neither one could look away.
"Goodnight," Ebony said, breaking the silence, and moving to lay down.
"Uh, wait," Lee Know spoke. "What's your name?"
"Oh, Ebony."
"Goodnight Ebony."
"Goodnight Lee Know."
"You can call me Minho if you want," he offered, and then whispered so quiet Ebony could hardly hear him, "Or Lee-lee."
Ebony let out a small inaudible laugh. Why was he being so cute?
"Goodnight Lee-lee," She said after a few seconds.
After she said Lee-lee, Minho smiled, and shut off the light before crawling into his own bed.
Chapter 8:
The next day Ebony didn't even bother with disguises inside the penthouse. It was pointless when over half of them already knew, not to mention exhausting.
Hyunjin, Felix, and Jeongin were pretty indifferent to the news. It was a relief for Ebony and she wished she had just come clean right away and avoided all the previous awkwardness.
"Let's go see a movie today," Han suggested to Ebony after they finished breakfast. And
"Or not. She doesn't understand Korean," Chan spoke up before Ebony could respond.
"I wasn't asking you."
"How about we go to the amusement park instead. I wanted to go there before we get busy with work again," Ebony suggested, because Chan did serve a point.
"Yes! That would be so fun," he cheered.
"What time are we going," Chan piped in.
"No! It is my day with my favorite celebrity. No Chan's allowed," Han told him, wrapping his arms tightly around Ebony's shoulders.
"Fine, I'll go as Chris," Chan stuck his tongue out at Han, before taking off and yelling, "Who wants to go on a roller-coaster!"
"It's okay," Ebony said to Han. "It will be even more fun with everyone."
"I guess," he replied before leaving the room.
Ebony finished up with the cleaning, before heading to the living room where she ran into Minho-literally.
"Sorry," she squeaked, avoiding eye contact. She hadn't spoken to him since last night, and now that she was in her right mind everything was a bit awkward.
"It's okay," He responded, his voice gentle. And unlike Ebony, he didn't try to avoid her gaze, but instead tried to find it.
Ebony did not give him the chance, however. She kept her head down and made her way past him in the fastest way she could without being outright rude.
She heard him chuckle and her face burned red. Why was she such an embarrassment to herself?
Changbin ended up inviting her to play some more card games, allowing her to temporarily forget Minho, who since last night, had been shadowing all her thoughts.
"Hey, I was able to get them to reserve the park for tonight from 8-12pm," Han announced a little while later. "It will be just us, so no one needs to worry about disguises and the employees that will be working have signed nondisclosure agreements."
"Yay," Ebony smiled. "I can't wait!"
The rest of the day she spent in anticipation for the evening, and also avoiding Minho who seemed to run into her more in this day than in the two weeks she had been there.
Every time she even thought of him, her heart would beat rapidly and the memory of his touch sent shivers through her body. And the unholy thoughts that filled her mind-she should just start marching to hell and bow down infront of the one Seven Deadly sin, Lust and accept them as her new god.
And the way Minho smirked at her, she knew that he had to know he had that effect on her. He was definitely "coincidentally" bumping into her all day for that reason alone and Ebony wasn't sure if was annoyed or thrilled by it.
Around 5 pm, Ebony decided to put herself together for the amusement park. She ended up French braiding her hair, and wearing a baby blue romper over a yellow long sleeved shirt and a pair of white walking shoes.
She only wore some mascara and a bit of clear lipgloss for makeup. As she was applying the gloss, Minho entered their room, and she froze, immediately darting her gaze from him.
"We're about to leave, I'm supposed to tell you," he said to her with an amused look on his face.
"Ah oh-okay," Ebony managed to say, risking a look at him.
Minho was had a small, yet charming, smile on his face, and Ebony could not tear her eyes from his face.
"Oh, you have, just let me-," Minho cut himself off by stepping towards Ebony, and gently grabbing her chin with one hand, tilting her head up towards his.
Ebony didn't dare move. Minho took his thumb with his other hand and slowly swept it under her lower lip, wiping away the lip gloss that she hadn't gotten a chance to do herself.
"Wah.." Ebony meant to ask him what he thought he was doing, but all traces of thought flew out the window the second he stepped towards her.
"You are so cute," Minho whispered, leaning down so their faces were only centimeters apart. He was so close, Ebony couldn't breath in fear she would hyperventilate.
After a moment he pulled away and walked out of the door, and Ebony all but collapsed onto the floor. The effect that man had on her was driving her absolutely insane.
Chapter 9:
"Let's go on that one first," Han said excitedly, grabbing Ebony by her hand and dragging her torward a large rollercoaster as soon as they got to the Amusement park.
"Wait up," Chan called out, chasing after them. The other member followed not far behind.
They went on ride after ride, Ebony usually sitting by Han or Chan because they kept fighting over her. She knew that Han was a fan, but she was happy that Chan also appeared to be a fan of hers as well.
Ebony noticed that Minho ditched out on rides that went up really high or upside down. She was a little sad because she kind of wanted to ride next to him, but maybe it was for the best.
It was nearing midnight when Changbin suggested they get ready to head out.
"Wait just one more ride," Ebony said. "I really wanna go on the ferris wheel."
"I'm going to sit that one out, I'm tired," Felix spoke, sitting down on a nearby bench. Hyunjin, Seungmin, Jeongin, and Changbin also voiced their exhaustion sitting next to him.
Han and Chan obviously volunteered to go on the ride, but Ebony was also shocked to see Minho follow them to the huge wheel as well. She had assumed he was terrified of heights, but maybe not.
"I'll ride with you, Ebony," Han spoke as they approached the ferris wheel.
"No, I want to," Chan argued. "You rode with her last time.
"You two can ride together," Minho suddenly said before grabbing Ebony's hand and pulling her into the bench like seat.
Both guys seemed as lost at words as Ebony was, and neither argued with Minho's decision.
"I thought you were scared of heights," Ebony said to Minho quietly, as the operator checked, they were properly secured and sent them up about halfway before letting Chan and Han on.
"I am," Minho gulped. His eyes were wide open and glued towards the ground. It was the first time she had seen him be intimidated by anything, but he looked so cute that she let out a giggle.
Seeing him in such a state suddenly made her bold. She took one hand and grabbed one of his. With her other, she used two fingers to move his head up and towards her, so he was now looking at her.
"Don't look down then," Ebony laughed. "Why would you get on when you are so scared?"
"I didn't want you to ride with Jisung or Chan," Minho told her.
"Well, why not? I rode with them all day."
"The ferris wheel is too romantic. I didn't want either of them to make a move on you before I could."
Ebony was frozen still. Did she hear him correctly?
Her boldness from earlier immediately dissipated. And her hand started to drift away from his face.
Minho snatched her hand, putting it up against his cheek. His fear of heights temporarily forgotten as they reached the top of the ride.
"Tell me to stop, or I will kiss you," Minho whispered, moving his head closer to hers.
Ebony didn't say anything. Instead, she felt her eyes close as she also leaned in.
The night wind was blowing cold air into her face, but when Minho's lips touched hers, heat rushed in, instantly warming her body.
Ebony had always daydreamed about her first kiss, but this was different from what she thought it would be - it was way better.
Her arms had somehow found their way around Minho's neck, and his hands were on either side of hers, gentle yet firm, pulling her as close to him as the safety bar would allow.
After what felt like an eternity of heaven, they Minho pulled his head back, just a bit, and looked down at Ebony, longingly.
"I like you," he said, slightly out of breath.
"I like you too," Ebony smiled, also a bit out of breath.
And then they kissed again.
The end.
