The agony is too unbearable! Damn dragon! If I would stayed away from its tail, then I wouldn't have a spike in my side. I'm a Companion up at Jorrvaskr. I didn't have a Shield Sibling with me to watch my back. I guess this is what I deserve for not having a Shield Sibling with me. The guards saw me approach the gates, holding my bloody side.

"Guards, get Vilkas and Aela from Jorrvaskr. Now!" I say.

"Yes, Thane." One of the guards said before running into the city. I tried to cast a healing spell, but it failed. Vilkas and Aela came running over to me.

"(Y/N), what happened?!" Aela said before Vilkas could get a chance to.

"Dragon attack." I say weakly then I coughed up some blood.

"Vilkas, you carry her to the Temple. Danica will know what to do." Aela said. Vilkas picked me up bridal style and raced behind Aela, who's yelling at people to get out of the way. Vilkas looked down at me, his lover, with worry in his eyes.

"You'll be alright, love. Just look at me." He said.

"Vilkas..." I say before I coughed up more blood.

"Don't talk, love. You need your strength." We reached the Temple just in time. Danica ran over to us with another priest following up behind her.

"What happened?" Danica said.

"Dragon got me with his spiky tail." I say as I'm being sat down on one of the beds.

"I've never healed wounds this severe before, but I'll do my best, Companions." Danica said while taking a look at the wound.

"That's all we can ask for, Danica." Vilkas said, his voice sounding worried about what's going to me. "I can't lose her."

"Listen, (Y/N), this is going to hurt a lot, but we need to get this spike out of your side. Vilkas, I want you to comfort her as I pull the spike out." He nodded and grabbed my hand. Vilkas gave it a squeeze before Danica. She removed the spike which stung like dragon fire. I cry out in pain before Danica immediately casted the healing spell along with the other priest.

Vilkas' POV

(Y/N)'s facial features softened which made me release a sigh of relief. Danica stopped casting the spell and looked at me.

"She'll be okay, Vilkas. Other than that wound, (Y/N) has a three broken ribs, and fracture in her left leg."

"Thank you, Danica. You should rest. I'll watch over (Y/N)."

"You're very welcome, Companion." She said before leaving me and (Y/N) alone. Aela left halfway through the healing process because she has to train Ria in her archery.

"V-Vilkas?" (Y/N) said weakly after she let out a groan.

"I'm here, love. I'm here." I say. "You, my love, need to sleep. You've had a long day."

"When can I leave?"

"I'm hoping tomorrow, but for now, get some sleep." I held her hand as she slowly fell asleep. (Y/N) looks peaceful when she sleeps, but also very cute. Especially when she falls asleep in my arms at night or if she just wants to cuddle. Now long after watching her I fell asleep.

*Next Day*

Your POV

I wake up with Vilkas holding my hand.  I gave it a little squeeze, letting him know that I was awake. He looks down at me and smiles. I return the favor with a weak smile.

"Hello, love." Vilkas said.

"Hello, Vilkas. How'd you sleep?"

"It was alright."

"Can I leave?"

"I don't know. Danica is resting from trying to heal you. If it wasn't for the other priest, Danica would've extended her energy. But it would be best if you come back to Jorrvaskr."

"Yeah. I need to get out of here."

"If you had a private place to rest, then you'll be fine. If that's what you want, (Y/N)." Danica said.

"Thank you, Danica. I appreciate it."

"The only problem is that you can't walk."

"Great. Just great. How am I supposed to get back to Jorrvaskr?"

"I'll carry you, love. You're light." Vilkas said, picking me up in his arms.

"Thanks, Vilkas. Goodbye, Danica. I'll try not to get injured from a dragon again."

"Farewell, (Y/N)."

We left the temple and made it to Jorrvaskr before anyone could ask questions. Vilkas took me to my Harbinger's quarters and laid me on my bed. He turned to leave, but I grabbed his wrist.

"Stay. I don't want to be alone." I say. He nods and in bed with me. Vilkas wrapped his arms around me and I lay my head on his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat. This is all I've ever wanted.
