Arguements (Brynjolf X Reader)
Your POV
"What was I supposed to do to, Bryn?!" I scream at Brynjolf. He is being an idiot.
"How about not kill the guy!" Brynjolf argued.
"I would've been dead if I hadn't killed him."
"That's not the way our system works down here, (Y/N)."
"I know that-"
"Then why did you kill him?" Brynjolf interrupted. By this point, everyone in the Cistern is staring over at our conversation.
"I HAD NO CHOICE, BRYNJOLF! I WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD! IF I WAS DEAD, YOU WOULD GO ON WITH YOUR LIFE LIKE I WASN'T PART OF THE GUILD." I yell.
"You don't know how I would feel if you were dead, (Y/N)."
"Brynjolf, you wouldn't care if I died. I thought you and I were something, but I was wrong. It's just merely business." With that, I start to walk towards the wooden ladder.
"(Y/N), wait!" I hear Brynjolf call, but I climbed the ladder away from him and the Guild.
Once I'm out, I walk all over Riften, seeing the memories relive themselves. One made me stop in my tracks.
Flashback
I ran away from Bryn like a child. I must not have been running fast because Bryn slithered his arms around my waist and picked me up. I scream and start kicking. I begin giggling after I quit kicking.
"Bryn, put me down!" I say, laughing.
"What's the phase?"
"Please put me down."
"Nope. Last try."
"I love you, Brynjolf. Forever and Always."
"Bingo." He sets me down and turns me around. "I love you too, (Y/N). Forever and Always." He leans down and presses his soft lips upon mine. I fling my arms around his neck and pulling him close, deepening the kiss.
Brynjolf pulls away, placing his forehead to mine. We close our eyes as we enjoy each other's presence.
"Lass?" Bryn spoke, finally breaking the silence.
"Yes, Brynjolf."
"Promise me you won't leave me."
"I promise that I won't leave you if you promise the same."
"I promise." We say at the same time, causing us to laugh before Brynjolf softly kisses me.
END OF FLASHBACK
As soon as the memory was over, I run out the back gate and into the fall-like forest. I climb the tree at mine and Brynjolf's spot. It had a pond with a small water fall behind it. Brynjolf and I stumbled along it one day and that was the day he asked me to be his.
I reached the top branch and just stared out into the forest before I started to bawl.
Brynjolf's POV
She left. (Y/N) left me. She just walked out of the Cistern. When she left, everyone went back to what they were doing. Me? I'm still standing there, wanting to go after her. But I have no idea where she would go.
I start my way to the Flagon where I'm sure Delvin heard every word spoken. I sit just across from Delvin and sigh.
"You, my friend, have messed up badly." He said.
"Yeah, I know."
"Go after her, Bryn."
"I don't know where she went, Delvin."
"I can't help you there." Then it clicked. Our spot.
"I-I got to go." I say as I get up and run into the Cistern towards the ladder. I quickly climb and pulled the chain. I ran out of Riften and to our spot.
As I gained closer, I heard sobs from the tree nearest the pond. It has to be (Y/N).
"(Y/N)?" I say, questioning to see if it was her. The sobbing almost instantly stopped.
"Brynjolf?" A very familiar voice said, her voice shaking.
"Please come down from there." (Y/N) obeyed and climbed down safely. She looks up at me, her eyes red and puffy, and her face stained with tears.
"What do you want, Bryn?"
"I wanted to apologize to you. I'm sorry, (Y/N). I'm sorry that I laid eyes on you. I'm sorry that I chose you for the job. I'm sorry I took you here. I'm sorry that I asked you to be my girlfriend. I'm sorry for everything. I understand if you don't want anything to do with me. I just wanted to say I'm sorry."
"You know that I saw something that reminded me of what I said once."
"What did you say?"
"I promise that I won't leave you if you promise the same. I kinda broke that promise."
"No, you didn't. You didn't mean the things you said. You were just angry at me. By the way, I would not be able to live without you if you were killed. I'd probably be dead as well."
"You're right, Bryn. It's the same thing with me too. I couldn't live without you."
"Then marry me, lass."
"Are you serious?" She asked, shocked. I nodded a yes. "YES! A MILLION TIMES YES!" I pick her up and spin her around while kissing her. We ran back to Riften and into her house. Let's just say that one thing led to another.
