"Wouldn't it be cool if we met up?"
Jungkook chokes on his water, eyes darting from his clock, flashing the fluorescent red numbers of 3:02, to his laptop screen. "W-What?"
Seokjin laughs. "If we met up. In person."
"I—" Jungkook swallows. "That would be cool, I guess."
"I want to meet you," Seokjin says, and Jungkook has the sudden urge to hide under his desk.
"Well, I mean—" Jungkook giggles anxiously, fingers pressing into the ridged sides of the bottle cap. "—isn't Skype enough?"
Seokjin's wide smile falters for a fraction of a second; the action is so brief that Jungkook doesn't even catch it. "Yeah, I guess. Just Skyping is fine." Seokjin averts his eyes and picks at his cuticles.
"Mm." Anxiety gnaws at Jungkook's insides and he suddenly bursts out with, "It's not that I don't want to meet you—"
Seokjin looks up. "Huh?"
"It's not that I don't want to meet you," Jungkook repeats, "it's just that I'm nervous."
"About what?"
"...About meeting you."
Seokjin's face splits into a wide beam, stretching from ear to ear. "You're nervous about meeting me?" When Jungkook nods meekly, the elder squeals, "You're so cute!"
"I'm not cute," Jungkook says quietly, words almost unintelligible.
"You're right," Seokjin agrees, and Jungkook blinks, taken aback. "You're adorable."
"Hyung," Jungkook whines, "stop."
"You can't tell me you don't like it when I call you cute," Seokjin quips, "because I know you secretly love it."
Jungkook groans, face heating up. "I don't."
"Fine," Seokjin declares. "Look me in the eyes and tell me that you don't like it when I call you cute, and I'll stop."
"Okay," Jungkook answers confidently. "Challenge accepted."
"Cutie."
Jungkook involuntarily makes a noise resembles a strangled goose. "Hyung!" His cheeks are flaming as he cringes and hides his face.
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry," chuckles the elder. "Now tell me that you hate it when I call you cute. No hesitation, or I won't believe you."
Fanning his face as an attempt at cooling it down, Jungkook looks at his laptop and stares at Seokjin. "I don't like it when you call me cute," words tumbling out of his mouth.
Seokjin's shoulder's slump ever so slightly, and once again, Jungkook misses this gesture. "Okay," he says, a meaningless chuckle escaping his lips as a mask to hide his disappointment. "I guess I'll stop calling you cute." Another forced chortle comes out.
"Thanks."
"Yeah, no problem." There's a bit of an awkward silence that stretches between them before Seokjin breaks it with, "Seriously, though, Jungkookie, I think we should meet up."
"That would be cool, I guess." Jungkook stares at his lap.
"Sometime next week?" Seokjin offers.
"Uh— Sure."
。。。
"Okay, I'm gonna be frank with you, you look really hot."
"I, uh— Thanks?"
"Yeah, no problem." Taehyung's eyes form crescents as he smiles widely. He places the stick of eyeliner down and scans Jimin's face one last time before nodding. "All done."
Jimin hums his acknowledgement as he stares at his reflection in the mirror. "I look nice."
"For once." He hisses in pain when Jimin flicks his temple, and the elder stares at him pointedly.
"You asked for it."
Taehyung rolls his eyes as the two exit the bathroom. "Let's go third and fourth wheel their date now."
"Wouldn't a fourth wheel help, though?"
Taehyung frowns, thinking. "Yes?" He pauses as he grabs his keys. "I think so. Fine. Let's go crash their date."
"Don't say it like that, now I feel bad."
"Damn, you're so picky. Do you want me to call it a double date, then?"
"Mmm... Sure."
"We're not even dating."
"I know that, you idiot." Jimin snorts. "But I'd rather call it a double date than say that we're crashing Hoseok hyung and Yoongi hyung's date."
"Fine, whatever you want to call it. Let's go!"
