You got in bed alone. Just a week ago, the bed used to be filled with two people. Now it's only you.
Your relationship with Red ended. After finding out he got into a fatal car crash, you couldn't even make yourself move on.
Loving Red was everything. You loved him so much, and ever since that incident, it was like your heart was ripped.
You tried to forget about him, but how the hell is that suppose to work? Every night, you slept in the bed Red shared with you. You miss his cuddles or his humming whenever you couldn't sleep.
All that is left are pillows. You grabbed one and held it by your chest, pretending it was Red. It was the closest thing you could get to help you sleep. The pillow was cold, unlike Red's body, which was warm.
Your eyes started to sting badly when you smelled his shampoo on the pillow. He always took a shower before bed, and his pillow saved the scent.
You clutched the pillow, wrinkles forming around your hands. You told yourself you're going to be okay. You reminded yourself that Red could be watching you from Heaven right now. He would hate to see your cry.
You shivered while looking at the empty space on your bed. The way Red looked at you while lying down was still fresh in your mind. You still know that gaze he had on you. You'd ask, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
He'd reply, "I don't know. You're just beautiful." Or something like that.
It broke your heart even more knowing you can't get that moment back. You can't obtain those sweet moments again. Only your memory and old pictures and videos were your safe haven.
The pillow was now in a tight compact against your chest. Your tears stained the case as your hands started to shake.
This was happening every night since Red left. You didn't know how to stop it. And coincidentally, if Red was here, he would help you calm down.
But Red wasn't here. Not anymore. He's somewhere walking in the next life, hopefully waiting for you one day.
Now tired from tears, your head was on the pillow, like how it was on Red's chest. You wiped your eyes before closing them. Your sleep came slowly.
The only thing that could put you to sleep was that pillow. Like Red, it was the only thing you held until you fell asleep.
You hugged the pillow like it was him.
You wished it was.
