Most days you go to the skatepark to just kill some time. Other days you try to find new tricks. Today was that day.
You're self taught, besides looking at the other guys who do ollies or 360s. It would take time to learn them, but you'd get the trick at some point.
Today you were gonna try to do a 360 turn in the air. It looked hard, you weren't gonna lie.
You arrived at the skatepark in your ripped jeans, graphic shirt, snapback, and converse. Obviously you carried your skateboard on your side under your arm. Once you entered the ramps, you put down your board and got on.
You kicked your way into one of the small ramps to try and perfect the 360. You went on one end and skated your way to the other. The other side was flat so it gave you a platform to land on.
You squatted down getting in the position to kick up.
You got in the air and kicked the board around and it spun, but it was uneven. You fell down.
You don't wear any protection equipment; usually you were good at catching yourself, and luckily you did this time.
"You need some help?" A man's voice came behind you. You stood up to find someone as tall as you with also a snapback and a skateboard with a squid on it.
"No I'm good." You replied grabbing your board and walking away from the man. The only thing on your mind was to complete the 360.
He seemed to have leave you alone once you got up on the ramp. And then again, you tried to do the trick.
You failed 30 times probably in the last hour. Your frustration was showing when you picked up your board and stomped your way to one of the benches off to the side.
You sat down tired, your back finally getting the relief. Your board was under your feet as you rolled it side to side.
The same man saw you, and you looked at him quickly. Turns out he was walking towards you.
"Not to sound like a creep, but I was watching you try over and over." He said standing in front of you. You looked up at him.
"I just can't land properly. I always trip." You sigh breaking eye contact. The man took a seat next to you, but with a good distance.
"I can help you. I know how to do a 360." The man told putting his board down. You turned to him.
"Oh yeah? Then teach me." You got up and stood on your board. "What's you're name?" You then asked.
"Tim. You?" "(Y/N)."
"Alright (Y/N), are you ready?" Tim asked confidently. You grinned.
"Show me. I mean you wanted to teach me." You pointed out sarcastically. Tim rolled his eyes.
"Very funny. C'mon follow me to the ramp."
You and Tim skated to the ramp and he made it first. You let him show you how to do it and you watched him.
"Impressive." You complimented when Tim was coming back from the other side.
"Now you try. Just kick back and land on top of the board." Tim instructed simply. You let yourself go down the ramp and you got into the air.
You kicked the board and until you landed, you tripped again. But this time you didn't catch yourself.
You landed on your side, the ground scratching your arm.
"Holy shit!!" Tim called down running over to you. You sat up holding your right arm. You took off your hand and a layer of skin was scraped off. Your arm was bright red, blood seeping through some areas.
"Oh my god." You chuckled slightly. The pain was still on your side.
"Are you okay?! Did you hit your head?!?" Tim panicked kneeling down to your level. You shook your head showing him your arm.
Another guy came by and he saw your accident. He also asked what's wrong.
"She needs a wrap." Tim stated while holding your arm. He helped you stand up and he brought you to the bench.
"How are you feeling?" Tim asked as you sat down.
"It stings really bad." You tried to hide the pain in your voice. It was somewhat working, but for god's sake you were bleeding.
"Dude, did you get the bandages?!!" Tim called out to the guy who came. He was running back to the both of you with bandage wrap, gauzes, and a water bottle.
You'd expect skaters to bring some emergency supplies just incase.
Tim took the gauze and the water bottle, pouring water on the cloth. He pressed it on your stinging wound.
"Hold that." Tim told. You took your other hand and keep the gauze in place. Tim was unwrapping the bandages.
He began wrapping your arm, securely but not too tightly.
You looked at Tim. Now you noticed his features more. His hair was a dark brown and he had some freckles. Actually, now that you see him, Tim is kinda cute.
I mean, what...
Tim finished with a bandages and tied the loose piece with the beginning piece of the wrap together.
He handed back the stuff to the guy and that guy left you two alone.
"Thanks, Tim." You said, your arm losing its pain. You got up, as well as Tim. You picked up your board, but Tim halted you.
"There is no way you're getting back on that ramp." He interrupted by standing in front of you.
"I'm not stupid." You giggled. "I was just gonna go home." You then shrugged.
"O-oh." Tim stuttered. You raised an eyebrow.
"I was just thinking if we can hang out at some other place? Since we can't really do anything at the park anymore." Tim's nerves sounded in his voice. It made you smile.
"That's sounds good. Ice cream at Wendy's?" You suggested. Tim picked up his board. "Yeah sure."
Tim smiled, but then smirked. You looked at him weirdly.
"First one to Wendy's wins!!" Tim called out dropping his skateboard and skating out of the park.
"HEY!! IM HANDICAPPED. YOU SHOULD LET ME GET A FIVE SECOND HEAD START!!" You laughed also throwing your board down. You kicked your way to catch up to Tim.
Eventually you did and you both forgot about the challenge. For the rest of the way, you guys skateboarded together.
