Ch4 Another new cadet
(Spyro's point of view)
After finally finding some friends, Spyro was actually beginning to come to class on time most of the time, especially since Cynder began waking him up most of the time. While he did wake up quite groggy, he was happy not having to fly all the way to the front desk for a tardy slip. It had been a few weeks since he had formed his little social group, and Stealth elf had become even friendlier as the days passed. However, this didn't stop him from trying to pull off stunts, as he cleaned up after the messes he made, he would often look to see Cynder and Stealth elf roll their eyes at him before giving him a brief smile. Friends definitely made the academy a much better place.
One day on a very rare "chill day", Jet-vac interrupted the class to make a quick announcement. "Class we once again have a new cadet joining our class, like I said when Stealth elf joined, treat him with the utmost respect like you treat me." Most of the class rolled their eyes.
The new student walked into the classroom and turned to face the class. He was an elf, he wore an orange shirt made of a leather and chainmail mix, a protective glove on his left hand, and had his blue hair in a short ponytail, but what caught everyone's attention was a bright red blindfold he wore over his eyes, partially covering a scar going over his right eye.
"Go find an empty, seat please", instructed Jet-vac, the elf nodded and walked right towards a seat and slumped into one of the empty chairs. Everyone couldn't help but stare at him, because he did it with no problem at all, not even bumping into any one or anything. Everyone went back to talking as usual as the elf pulled a notebook out of his satchel, and began to draw little cartoon characters.
Spyro looked at Stealth elf, she just shrugged, the elf had sat on the opposite side of Spyro on the right of him, and they didn't know if they should talk to him or not. Spyro took another look at the elf's drawings, one character was a fox playing a guitar, he was sitting on an old stump singing to a group of squirrels who were singing along. Also on the paper were two dragons, a fire and an ice one, locked in combat, each breathing streams of elemental breath at eachother trying to push through the others stream.
"Hey, not bad, did you draw all of that blindfolded?" Asked Spyro. The elf nodded, and proceeded to turn the page and draw a very detailed sketch of Spyro's face and handed it to him. "Thanks," said Spyro, "what's your name?"
"Flameslinger," the elf replied, "I just love to do things blindfolded, not to show off, but because I feel better that way." You've got to take that thing off sometimes, don't you?" Asked Stealth elf. "Well, not all the time, I keep it on most of the time," Flameslinger replied. "Do you have any friends?" Asked Spyro.
"No", the elf said, "no one really ever wanted to be my friend, in fact most people hated me growing up." "But you seem like a very nice guy", said Spyro, "why don't you come hang out with us?" "Ok, but only because you offered", answered Flameslinger. The 3 friends chatted the whole class through.
