INT. TURNER LIVING ROOM – LATER

Janice and Skye enter. Logan, Chase, Sarah, and Maven are all gathered in the living room.

JANICE

Looks like a party. Smoothies for everyone.

She exits into the kitchen.

MAVEN

I'm down for a smoothie.

LOGAN

You must not have had one of my mom's smoothies.

SARAH

Skye, we're playing "Would You Rather." Remember? You used to love this game.

CHASE

You know, before you turned into an android.

SARAH

Ignore my dork of a cousin. It's your turn.

Sarah drags Skye over to the sofa.

LOGAN

Would you rather go bald for the rest of your life, or stop speaking for the rest of your life? This sounds like Uncle Carl.

SKYE

I'd rather be upstairs so I can finish packing.

SARAH

That wasn't part of the question. If you don't play by the rules, you can't get a sucker.

Sarah shows the pacy-pop ring on her finger. Skye stands.

SKYE

I know what you're up to. I appreciate how much you guys care about me, and I care about you too, but I'm not going to change my mind. My decision is final.

MAVEN

Wow. You're really leaving.

CHASE

I never thought I'd be saying this, but I'm going to miss you, Skye. Okay, who's turn is it?

Sarah stands and faces Skye.

SARAH

It's my turn. Would I rather have a best friend who lives in another country or no best friend at all? Who needs a best friend if they don't need you?

She runs out the front door.

MAVEN

I thought I was her best friend.

Skye follows Sarah outside.

EXT. TURNER PORCH – CONTINUOUS

Skye enters. Sarah is sitting on the porch swing.

SARAH

I would have gone further, but these shoes were not made for running away.

Skye sits beside her.

SKYE

Do you remember the first time we sat out here on this swing?

SARAH

I was upset that I didn't make homecoming queen.

SKYE

You were still in middle school.

SARAH

Always the little princess. It was really hard learning I can't get everything I want. Still is. I'm sorry for throwing a tantrum. I'm afraid I'm going to lose you forever and be replaced by a super smart friend with a cool accent.

SKYE

No one could ever replace you. You will always be my best friend in the world. No matter what, we will always have each other. I promise.

SARAH

Well, if you have to go, I want to send you off properly. I'm going to throw you a going away party.

SKYE

You know I don't like parties.

SARAH

I'm sorry. You must have thought I was asking.

SKYE

Your crown is showing again.

SARAH

It'll be a small, fancy dinner at my house. Leave everything to me.

SKYE

Fine. But keep an eye on Chase. We're going to be in his territory and you never know what he's planning in that sneaky head of his.

SARAH

(typing on her phone) If you want to invite him.
