INT. PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE

Skye enters and sits in front of Principal O'Haire who's on the phone.

PRINCIPAL O'HAIRE

I want to see more pictures every hour, on the hour. The close-ups are my favorite.

After a pause, she squeals and starts speaking in baby talk.

PRINCIPAL O'HAIRE (CONT'D)

How's my little princess? (continues in gibberish)...Buh-bye. A buh-bye.

She hangs up then scrolls through her phone smiling.

SKYE

You wanted to see me, Principal O'Haire?

PRINCIPAL O'HAIRE

(distracted) Yes, Skye. Take a seat.

Skye looks around, clearly already seated. Principal O'Haire looks up.

PRINCIPAL O'HAIRE (CONT'D)

Sorry.

She puts her phone down.

PRINCIPAL O'HAIRE (CONT'D)

My babysitter is sending more photos of Chelsea. I miss her so much...What were we talking about?

SKYE

I have no idea.

PRINCIPAL O'HAIRE

Oh, right. First, I am proud of you for all of the hard work and determination you've shown at Mount Springs High. I hope my daughter will grow up to be just as bright. She actually said her first words today. Technically, they're not words, but they're just the most darling sounds I've ever heard—

SKYE

I would love to hear all about it, but I kind of have a class to get to so could we skip to the part where you tell me why I'm here?

PRINCIPAL O'HAIRE

Congratulations, Skye. You have been accepted into the Study Abroad Program for Advanced Learners. Your outstanding grades and summer programs have earned you enough credits to continue your education as a senior in the most prestigious school in the world.

SKYE

I got in! This is a dream come true. Everyone who goes to that school is practically guaranteed acceptance into their choice university. Which means I am one step closer to Harvard.

Principal O'Haire hands her an envelope.

PRINCIPAL O'HAIRE

All you have to do is get your parents' consent and you'll be off to London.

SKYE

That won't be a problem. They are behind me one hundred percent.

PRINCIPAL O'HAIRE

Great. They must be so proud. (tearing up) You kids just grow up so fast.

She sobs. Skye hands her a tissue and awkwardly pats her on the shoulder.
