SCENE E
INT. CLASSROOM - LATER
Chase sits between Sarah and Maven again, observing the teacher.
MAVEN
Chase, could you ask Sarah if my notebook is still in her bag?
Annoyed, Chase turns to Sarah.
SARAH
Chase, could you tell Maven to be more specific? There are many notebooks in my bag, and I'm too stupid to know the difference.
Chase turns to Maven.
CHASE
You got that, didn't you?
MAVEN
Loud and clear. Now could you tell Sarah that I never implied she was stupid but narrow-minded. Unlike myself, who is very open to using loose leaf.
He takes out a sheet of paper.
SARAH
If I'm so narrow-minded, why would I ever consider dating a guy who writes like a wilder beast?
She holds up his notebook.
MAVEN
So you do have my notebook!
They start whisper arguing. Chase watches the teacher, antsy. At his desk, the teacher takes a sip of his coffee. He spits it out.
TEACHER
Chase!
He points to the door.
CHASE
Thank you!
He grabs his things and heads to the door. Now face to face, Sarah and Maven turn away from each other and cross their arms.
The teacher closes the door behind Chase and locks it. Chase peeks through the door's window shaking a pack of salt.
CHASE (CONT'D)
Well, someone's a little salty.
The teacher pulls down the door's window curtain and walks away.
