The Way Back

Okay y'all, season finale! If you couldn't tell, I had a really hard time writing this season. I'm just not a fan and it's hard to be excited about it. But next up is Day of the Departed and I will have a much easier time with that (hopefully).

On another note, November 15 was the start of hunting season in America! Until I get a deer, I'll be spending my late afternoons out in the cold :D. And for those of you wondering, no I'm not just killing animals for fun. I'm hunting deer legally and ethically in order to put food in my family's freezer. It's free food and when groceries cost $500 (they did just last week) then we have to provide for ourselves.

On that note, on with the show~~~!

~~~~~
Teaming up with the Sky Pirates was not on Charlie's bingo card for this adventure, but after Nadakhan cast them aside like nothing they decided they had a better use of their skills. But even with the help, the Master of Darkness felt that the were doomed. The Djinn wished Nya to be his old lover, Delara. The Master of Water's eyes glowed mysteriously and her voice was heavily accented as. She stood by Nadakhan's side in a silk wedding dress, laughing as he attacked the Ninja.
Charlie charged out from behind one of the pillars, wielding her Darkness dangerously. Cole and Kai followed her lead.
Nadakhan grunted as their powers hit him. "Argh! I wish you still!"
Charlie choked as the breath left her body and joints stiffed. She was being turned into a gold statue. She froze as the transformation was complete, and her body halted.
~~~~~

A gasp filled the Master of Darkness' lungs with air. She regained feeling in her limbs and fell to the ground.

"The poison," said Kai. "It's working."

Nadakhan groaned in pain. His armor was splattered with the venom. A surge of hope flowed through Charlie. "His magic is failing. Now, Jay! Now!"

The Blue Ninja ran to the Djinn. "I wish...I wish... I wish you weren't a–"

"Jay..." Nya called.

The Master of Water fell into Jay's arms, the venom coating her dress

"Nya, the poison hit you, too!" The Master of Lighting took her hand and cradled it.

Tears welled in Charlie's eyes as she ran to her sister's side with the others.

"It only hurts a Djinn, but is fatal to her," Zane said sadly.

"Only one wish, Jay!" Nadakhan grunted. "What a dilemma. Wish me mortal, and she dies. Wish her well...and there is no stopping me."

Nya moaned weakly. "You have to make your last wish. You're the only one who can stop him."

Jay's azure eyes welled with tears. "No. Not if that means losing you."

Nya smiled weakly. "I never wanted to be part of your boy's club anyway."

"No, Nya. Don't say that," Jay cried.

"Guess it's true. The greatest love stories do always end in tragedy."

With that said, the Master of Water, former Samurai X, took her last breath.

Charlie covered her mouth with her hand, barely unable to fight the sobs escaping her. Kai covered her face, tears rolling uncontrollably down his cheeks. Zane placed a hand on the Master of Fire's shoulder, but he too was upset.

"I wish you had taken my hand," Jay sobbed. "And no one ever found that teapot in the first place!"

Nadakhan gasped softly. "Your wish...is yours to keep."

~~~~~
The sound of helicopters reached Charlie's ears. "They're gonna see us. Quick, take cover." She spun in an Airjitzu spiral, the others following and landing behind a billboard. Nya stood on the roof, unable to hide.
"Nya, you need to hide too." Jay said, reaching his arm out. "Ugh. Forget what I said, just take my hand."
"Just take his hand, Nya! Or else we're gonna... be spotted?" Cole trailed off, confusion lacing his tone.
"Why does this feel familiar?" Charlie asked.
"Nya, take my hand," Jay repeated.
Something shifted in the Master of Water's eyes. She spun into an Airjitzu spiral and took his hand. They stood there, staring into each other's eyes.
"I remember. I remember it all," Nya whispered.
Jay chuckled. "I do too. But how?"
"Who cares?"
They leaned in and kissed. The helicopter circled above, but Charlie couldn't focus on that. It took everything she had not to squeal.
"Um, I'm getting the strangest feeling of déjà vu. Have we been here before?" Lloyd asked.
Kai groaned and covered his eyes. "Gross."
Cole laughed and set his hands on his hips. "I'm glad they finally came around. You know, I don't know what had gotten between them in the first place."
Charlie rolled her mismatched eyes and sent her lover a look.
"Are we still going to try to stop Clouse?" Zane asked.
Lloyd smiled and gazed at the new couple. "Let's just hope he missed his train."
