It is the year 2025. There is a new device after the NerveGear called AmuSphere. Kigoshi Kurosan waited for ages before he finally got his hands on one. His parents refused to let him buy one after the Sword Art Online (SAO) incident which took many people's lives.

There is a new game called Sky Vale Online (SVO). It is made by Rei Kurahara. Rei is a top designer who appears to have survived the SAO incident and also tried out Alfheim Online (ALO). He developed SVO based on the concepts of both SAO and ALO.

As soon as Kurosan got the AmuSphere, he purchased SVO and immediately ran back home and locked himself in his room.

In his room, there hung a poster of Kirigaya Kazuto, a.k.a Kirito in SAO. Why did he hang that poster? Simple. He admires him. Why does he admire him? What does he admire about him? Kirito had saved his cousin's life once in SAO after they were trapped in the game. He showed his appreciation for saving his cousin by treating Kirito a meal for a whole week. 

Back to why he admired Kirito. He admired the fact that Kirito was brave enough to stand up against the game developer himself who used cheats against him. Ever since then, he has been communicating with Kirito through phone and he has been gaining tips on how to play Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games ( VRMMORPG ).

That night is the night that he is finally going to try one for himself. There is another reason that he is so excited to play it- Kirito was going to play one game with him that night! How can he give up such a rare opportunity to play with someone he admires so much?
