Skylar's pov

I watched yet another general sailed down the river bed. His boat aflame from one of Sky's lit arrows. His face calm and expressionless. Much like Lilly's when Tyler was set to sail. I wiped my eyes dry before I headed back to my room. Too much death...

"So, that's what you do with the dead? What are you, vikings?" Max asked trying to lighten the mood.

"It is by order of the king that things are done this way." I stated continuing to walk into the castle.

Max rolled his eyes. "Yah, I know that...." he followed me into the castle. "Skylar, are you ok?"

I snapped and my eyes turned purple. "Does it look like I'm ok?" He flinched slightly and said nothing. I calmed down and allowed my eyes to turn normal before I spoke again. "We've lost so many recrutes. Three of our generals are dead, and so is my sister. Yah, I guess you could say I'm doin great."

Max stayed silent for a moment or two. "Kid, ya know just because they're physically gone, doesn't mean that they're gone for good." He patted my back and walked away.

I continued on for a bit watching as the recrutes gave me sorrowful, happy, and dirty looks. I ignored them and walked to the library. I sat in one of the chairs and stared at the wall. Seto isn't here, and no other recrutes usually come in here, so this is the quietest building in the castle. I leaned back on the chair and stared at the pile of books next to me. One seemed to have particals coming off of it. I picked it up and read what was written.

Herobrine, the only mob Notch has yet to dystroy or banish. He had a dark past filled with sorrow and pain. He once cared for everything, then one day, something happened. He burnt the town to the ground. After that event. He dissapeared form the planet. No one knows where or what he did in that time. But some say he took down Entity 303, the protector of balance. As I attempted to read the rest, I noticed that the words were smudged. I couldn't make out almost any of the first few words..

....En.....d...bri...e... w...o w...re ...a...d ...o ...a...e be.... killed during the war between two of the great kingdoms, the Nether and the End. Know one knows for sure if these two made it. But the world of Minecraftia is praying that somehow they did. Even if others of their kind could not.

When I finished reading I placed down the book. Why were only those words smudged? What someone hiding something? I shook my head. "Doesn't matter, it's just some stupid story." I muttered to myself.

"Is it?" I heard someone ask.

I looked up and saw a hooded figure. His eyes seemed to shine under his hood. "Who the Nether are you?" I asked.

He shook his head. "That isn't important now. But, that story you read, it's true, well, mostly, they left out many important fact and details, but that doesn't matter now."

I stared at the strange man, his voice was firm, yet it had a kind of softness to it. "Well, if they're important, don't ya think I should know?"

The strange man chuckled slightly. "Yes, it's true that you should know, but now is not the time. The only fact you need to know is that Herobrine was never ment to be this way."

I looked at him very confused. "What do you mean? I thought..."

"You, like most of the world, thought he had always been the way he is now right?" I nodded. "Well, he once was actually a kind man, who cared very deeply about everyone who he swore to protect."

"Then why did he murder so many innocents?" I shot back.

The man waited for me to calm down. "As I was saying, he cared for so many and was haunted by one. He was forced to watch as everything he ever cared about came crashing down around him."

I stayed quiet. "Why are you telling me this? Why do you think I should care?"

He stared at me with his bright green eyes. "Because you're the last one, the only one who could save everyone, Notch, the kingdom, everyone who has fallen, everyone who has turned, maybe even Herobrine himself."

"And why would I do that? What has he ever done to deserve to live?"

He stared blankly at me. "You....you don't remember?"

"Remember what?" I asked, starting to get a bit nervous.

"You don't remember what he did all those years ago? It's only been what, 100 mortal years? But, I guess after what you went through, it would have been hard to forget...."

"Forget what!" I shouted, my eyes turning purple.

"Forget the one thing that she remembered, the one thing that she couldn't allow herself to forget...your past. Where you came from, what happened. She remembered, but you chose to forget."

"Lilly? Wait, she remembered?" He nodded. "Could you remind me?"

He shook his head. "Sometimes, the best way to find the truth, is through the lie." He said walking away. Just before he teleported he stopped. "Maleficus."

"Huh?"

"My name is Maleficus." He said before he teleoprted.

Maleficus? Why does that sound fimiliar?

Lilly's pov

I sat on the edge of the kingdom, hidden in the leaves of a tree. No, for those of you wondering, I'm not dead. I am very much alive. Yes, I did die. That wasn't fake. "Lilly? The whole butter kingdom thinks you're dead!" I heard Ben say as he spotted me in the tree.

"That's the funny thing Ben," I looked over at my friend, Notch, and Jeb standing right behind him. "You can't easily kill Enderbrines."

Lilly: I'm back baby!

Hero: wait, she's not dead? But I killed her myself!

Lilly: *rolls eyes* J and I are the same person you idiot. Of corse I'm not dead. What? Did ya think a sword was gonna kill an Enderbrine.

Hero: how......oh.....wait.....are yo- *mouth gets covered by J* muph!

J: *walks away with a hand on Hero's mouth*

Hero: *reluctantly follows*

Lilly:....anyway.....nope I'm not dead yet, if you noticed, the picture on one of the other chapters said 2 down, 6 to go... I'm sure you thought that ment all the team....but when that picture went up....I was 'dead' so, why would J leave me out? CUZ I AIN'T DEAD YET!

*walks into room* no, no you're not, but please ssshhhhh. No one else knows that yet. They all think you're still dead.

Lilly: oh, right....wait, where's Brine?

Oh,.....he's uhhh....busy....

Hero: *locked in the closet* why the Nether did she lock me in the freaken closet?

Lilly:....ok.....
